Great little place near the national park. Loved the Hawaiian mountain home vibe and hot tub. Our boys loved the chickens roaming through in the morning and tossing the football in the yard. Easy to find, clear instructions, as advertised. A little cold in the morning. Thank you for our stay!
Everything was wonderful. Charming house with a very nice hottub which helped sooth our muscles after hikes. 10/10 for cleanliness. Loved this house and i hope to visit again
This house was a lovely respite for us, just what we were looking for. Very close to HVNP, lovely outdoor spaces, the hot tub was a fantastic bonus for my husband's aching back. House felt secluded, in the best way.The only ding I'm giving is for prompt communication; we were visiting right after the huge storms, encountering flight cancellations, and wondering if we should even come, and needed to make decisions promptly. Other than that, we had all of the necessary information and very much enjoyed our stay! Highly recommended.

This property was one of the most comfortable and visually stunning places we have stayed. The house had plenty of space, great antique furniture, numerous places to sit and read, comfortable beds, and great porches that looked out on a beautiful setting of tree ferns and 'O'hia trees. Especially stunning were the Jack Jefferies photos of birds. (We are bird people and know folks to know Jack well.) The location was perfect for us, next to the national park and near the town of Volcano. Hilo is not that far away for food and restaurants. (We did not want to be in Kona!) Several other pluses: plenty of towels, a hot tub, a grill, and an extra clean house.
Good place to relax with close proximity to Volcanoes national park. Nice grounds, great hot tub, and bbq area. Fun interior decor and appreciated the Ukulele provided. Bathrooms could use an update. Tubs difficult to get in and out of.

Very nice house! A little hard to find. Everything was really clean and the house had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. It was cold so we used the fireplace and that was wonderful. Very peaceful and quiet location.

Was a great place to stay. BBQ was nice, fireplace was nice, cool furniture etc, thoughtful stuff like towel warmers etc. hot tub was a little murky when we got there but a person came and fixed it for us.
We loved the house inside and out. Perfect for our family. Kids loved exploring the backyard and hearing the frogs at night and birds during the day. Close to the entrance to the park. We would definitely stay again.
This was our first time at this property after having stayed at another house in the area for our last 5-6 trips. Overall, the house was clean and comfortable. The towel warmers in the bathrooms were a nice touch and my husband is missing those now that we are back home. We never used the bbq area or the hot tub, but both looked well-maintained. I spent my mornings on the back porch (lanai) enjoying my coffee and listening to the sound of the rain and the coqui frogs, while an occasional chicken or pheasant wandered thru the yard. We would rent this place again.

Very nice secluded place. No traffic or other human noise. Very restful.
Really enjoyed our stay!
Beautiful house. Really enjoyed the sounds of the rainforest. The frogs and the pheasants. The hot tub was wonderful after long hikes in volcanoes national park located only 2 miles away. The house was clean with an adorable style. Highly recommend.
This property is extremely well cared for. The landscaping and home are absolutely gorgeous. The deck and window doors allow for a comfortable “outdoor” experience even when it rains. The hot tub was a fantastic added bonus for the cooler evenings. Loved the location as well.
Perfect location for a visit to Volcanos National Park. Very cute house, comfortable beds, basic kitchen supplies and spices to cook own meals. We loved the cookies provided! The hot tub was amazing, even with an outdoor shower. The gardens were lovely. Yes, the house was a bit musty, but this is to be expected in a humid environment. The only issue we had was one of the bathrooms was not only musty but also had a very foul smell to it. This should be taken care of. I would stay there again with reassurances that the bathroom smell was rectified.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Listing accuracy
My family of three travels to Volcano often and we have stayed in many vacation rentals. However, there are three, fairly significant, things that we have never encountered 1)In bullet point #16 of 19 of the check-in information, the host recommends that you don’t cook with or drink the water. The host provides 3 gallons of bottled water, which is likely fine for a short stay, but for over 2 days, you should expect to buy bottled water. The house does have a catchment (standard for homes in the area) and the water is filtered, but it is unclear if it is sub-standard, or if this bullet point was for liabilities sake.2)Volcano is gorgeous, but it can get cold at night. The host provides roughly 2 nights worth of firewood and space heaters. If the temperature gets into the low 50s, the house is cold. If you are staying longer than 2 nights, expect to purchase wood . 3)The guest is responsible for delivering all of the trash to a transfer station. The two nearby transfer stations are only open 6 days a week. If you check out on Wednesday, you will need to plan ahead and transfer your garbage before you check out, or haul somewhere else. The smell in the Queen bathroom was still present when we were there. It came and went, but when it was there, it was very obvious and unpleasant. All that said, we had some lovely relaxing times sitting on the lanai or snuggled by the fire. But, due to the three things above, I wouldn’t stay there again.
We had an excellent weekend. The only reason for the 4 stars for cleanliness is just the hot tub. We still enjoyed it but it most definitely needed a cleaning. I would 100% stay here again! So worth it! Much Mahalos for a great experience!

This cottage is a special gem. So relaxing.
Highly recommend this cottage. It is beautifully appointed with European antiques, a garden full of anthuriums and zen. Very private and peaceful.
Every detail has beeb thought of.
Extremely clean 2-bedroom condo in a great location/proximity to Waikoloa restaurants and shops with a very decent view of the ocean and sunset. Well stocked kitchen, plenty of beach towels, chairs, coolers, etc. Although on-line listing referred to 10 minutes walking to the beach, we found that that driving to and parking few minutes from the A-beach was a better option.
We had an amazing family adventure in Volcano and this house was perfect. Felt a littel rustic (like an old family cabin) - but it was exactly what we wanted. The rain sounded amazing on the metal roof, sipping hot chocolate by the fire at night before bed (and in the AM to shake off the chill). It was awesome and my kids can't wait to go back.
