Cozy Cottage In North Truro

Bedrooms 1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

1 Bed, 1 Bath. Kitchen, Dinette. Sleeps 2. Picnic Table

**Please note that weeks rent from Saturday to Saturday unless a change is pre approved**

Adorable, traditional Cape Cod cottage, nestled in the highly sought after Highland Acres. This one bedroom, one bath cottage is perfect for a couple on their honeymoon, a small family on summer vacation, or an artist seeking inspiration. Located off Route 6A, it is a perfect location, located just 3 miles from Provincetown. One-half mile away is the Truro Public beach, great for swimming, sunbathing, and beachcombing. Or walk 0.2 miles down Arrowhead Rd to Montano's Italian Restaurant and enjoy a great meal. Truro is quiet and slow moving, reminiscing of days gone by. Step out of the front door, and have a cookout on the lawn, all while taking in awe-inspiring sunsets. Adjacent to the property is a pine grove that provides privacy and shade.

Catch the shuttle into Provincetown (it drives past the cottage every half hour) and there won't be enough time in one day to see it all! Countless shops, restaurants, and galleries. Step into Whaler's Wharf and experience the culture of Provincetown. For the history enthusiast, visit Pilgrim Monument and climb to the top of the 252 ft tower. The view is breathtaking. The monument was built in commemoration of the Pilgrim's Mayflower landing in Provincetown on November 21, 1620, 5 weeks Before they traveled on to Plymouth Rock.

The nightlife of Provincetown (especially during high season) is lively, energetic, and exciting. Music, colors, and laughter fill the warm summer nights as you stroll down Commercial Street. Shopkeepers have their stores open late, and the aroma food comes from the open air restaurant patios. Seafood, as fresh as it can be, and cocktails such as 'The Pool Boy' fill eclectic menus. Provincetown is the ultimate people watching spot, as it becomes the world's melting pot during the summer months.

About Kim

I am a Massachusetts native and grandmother of 10! Cape Cod may be my favorite place in the world, and I hope that you'd enjoy my little cottage as much as I do!

Please note that my daughter, Leslie, is handling the online reservations, but I will be your contact person while you are staying at the property.

Kim purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Kim chose Cape Cod

Great location in quiet, beautiful North Truro. Quaint cottage that captures the essence of Cape Cod. One-half mile from the beach and near a wooded area, great for hiking, bird watching and photography. Cottage is on the Provincetown Shuttle route, passing by every 30 minutes.

What makes this cottage unique

Since Provincetown is more of a walk/bike town, having the shuttle available to take you back and forth into town is a fantastic amenity, and it's very affordable. The area is wonderful for walking and riding bikes as well.

Owner unresponsive and sleeping arrangements inadequate

  • 1 of 5

I would advise staying away from this rental. I found the description of the amenities was inaccurate; it states that the cottage is suitable for 4 people---it is not. We found the sofa bed was completely inadequate: it was impossible to fully open as the space was too small--it actually hit same cabinets when almost but not fully opened. Also the mattress was completely worn out and needed to be replaced.

Also, the customer service was terrible. I emailed the owner (according to the listing Leslie Venlet is the owner), informed her of the problems, and asked if she could either provide a new mattress or even an air mattress. No reply for 24 hours; I her emailed a second time. She replied that her mother was actually the owner and she'd have to contact her to find out. After waiting over 24 hours more the only reply we received was that no one had complained of this before! She was also unpleasant and suggested that we must be used to 5 star accommodations. There are better places to stay for the same price in this same cottage development in North Truro. I would look elsewhere!

Owner's Response: I suppose you can't please them all! In all the years the cottage has been rented, there has not been a single complaint about the accommodations in terms of size or the condition of the sleeping arrangements. This person also failed to mention that we unable to reach them by phone and email several times during that 24 hour period. So I guess it's my fault they were unavailable!! We get lots of repeat business and our guests have been very happy with the quaint and humble accommodations. This renter also has a habit of leaving bad reviews on properties. I think they are expecting the Waldorf on a Motel 6 budget!!
