About Sarasota, Arts & Culture....

There's no need to stay on the beach to enjoy all that Sarasota has to offer. After all, no matter where you stay the beaches are only minutes away. The mainland is home to many of the attractions and activities that add depth and character to Sarasota vacations.

Off the islands, Sarasota is defined by a rich and varied arts scene that belies the size of the city. There's the famous John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, featuring an enormous selection of paintings -- including one of the biggest collections of Rubens in the world. There's the vibrant gallery scene showcasing Sarasota's talented local artists, as well as visiting collections from artists around the world. And we haven't even started on live performances.

Opera in the historic Sarasota Opera House. The Sarasota Ballet and Sarasota Orchestra. National touring shows in the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. And three different theater companies all within a mile of each other.

Enjoying the outdoors....

Of course Beaches ! Siesta Key - #1 beach in the US, Lido Key. Longboat Key.

Sarasota's natural beauty has made it an international golf destination, with dozens of courses in the area designed by some of the biggest names in the sport.

Bike along the many trails in the area. Play Tennis. Take in a day, dinner or sunset boat cruise from Sarasota's bay front.

Kayak around the mangroves. Look for Manatees, Dolphins, Pelicans and all of the bird life that call it home here.

Turtle watch nesting.

Bird Watching

If you'd rather be a spectator than a participant, head to Ed Smith Stadium, the spring training headquarters of the Baltimore Orioles and home to a minor league franchise.

Sarasota has some of the most extensive public park lands in the state, including the incomparable Myakka State.

Festivals and Events....

Sarasota Film Festival in April, Chalk festival in the fall. Thunder on the Bay, Art & Craft shows, Food and Wine events. Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix, Jazz and Blues festivals. Siesta Key Sandcastle Sculpting Competition.

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful, fully stocked tropical bungalow! The beautiful, incredibly comfortable two bedroom bungalow is a mix of modern-tropical with touches of retro decor. Maureen and Patrick are professional as they are hospitable and made sure our stay was incredible. Stay here if you want to feel at home but fully treated as well!

Patrick and Maureen really take care of their guests

  • 5 of 5

The property includes everything you need for a perfect beach vacation. Beautiful hardwood floors throughout, well appointed kitchen, beach towels and chairs, coolers, and lovely garden. But the key aspect is that they really take care of their guests! I arrived in Miami for a trip with a friend to the Florida Keys just before hurricane Irma started to move toward Florida. The storm path was originally predicted to stay to the east so we decided to move to Sarasota. Booking was seamless with a quick confirmation. The storm shutters were placed on the house prior to arrival but with the storm a few days out Pat removed them so we could enjoy the beautiful weather and then placed them back on prior to the storm. They continued to check in and keep us up to date as the storm path moved to west. The house and property weathered the storm and is awaiting it's next guests. Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of us.

Where to start? The location was amazing, a quick $6 Uber/Lyft ride to downtown Sarasota (actually it is walking distsnce if you're feeling brave). The property is also a very easy drive to Siesta Key and St. Armand's.

Maureen is an exceptional host, from providing literature on nearby and faraway Florida attractions, she also provides beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels for your day at the beach. She also has binders filled with carry out/restaurant menus; fom the second I got here, I felt right at home.

The house was immaculate; it is a gorgeous little 2 bedroom bungalow with absolutely beautiful gardens in the backyard (there are time controlled lights as well that make the background look and feel like a botanical garden.

In terms of space, this place was more than ample for us. The open kitchen/dining room/living room is great. The washer and drier were very nice as well. The comfy couches were a great place to hang out after a long day.

Out back, you have beautifully manicured gardens, including lush Palm trees and amazing lighting.

I cannot recommend this place enough, it is absolutely amazing. Maureen is the perfect host and made it soeffortless for out.

Thank you for everything and I Would highly recommend this place!
