About the host
Hosted by Bob & Ann Alexander
I came up to the Great Sacandaga Lake as a child, and have been coming here ever since. We bought the 1840's farmhouse and renovated it for our family vacation and weekends while raising a family in Philadelphia. Now retired, we live across the street full time. The 210 acres was purchased many years ago and has been wild ever since. There are hiking trails all throughout with an old maple syrup barn that we want to fix up in time. We love to share this special place we have built with those who come to visit.
Why they chose this property
The lake is unspoiled for swimmers, boating, fishing, water skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and canoeing. The Great Lake Sacandaga is actually a reservoir and a tributary for the Hudson River. The water replenishes completely 4 times per year so it is always clean and fresh.
What makes this property unique
The view from the top of the mountain stretches 30 miles in all directions, and you can see the lake and the dam. Being right on the lake with a large private dock means you can moor your boat or attach your floats. our neighbors are quiet and very friendly, and dogs on a leash are welcome.
