About Donald Pate

My wife and I bought our home about 16 years ago. The property offers so much of a peaceful feeling of being surrounded by wildlife and nature. The sound and serenity of the running water, the peace of the wind blowing through the trees. We enjoy the hikes along the many trails in the ten lakes scenic area adjacent to our land. Sitting on the porch in the morning and evening or waking up to hear the water flowing from the creek is priceless. It's a great getaway for us and our family.

Donald Pate purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Donald Pate chose Glacier Country

Climate, views, water, mountains, access to all the hiking trails. Glacier National Park, skiing.

A place so special words cannot describe. A true getaway from the hectic world, sitting in the silence of nature. Cabin pristine, gracious owners on property. What more could anyone desire?

Absolutely perfect getaway

  • 5 of 5

Donald and family went way out of their way to insure guests have a great stay. From precut firewood, to anything in the cabin needed. The pictures actually do not show how beautiful this cabin and setting is. Total privacy with lots to do around the area for outdoors type people. I could type an endless message about how great this place was to stay. But will end by saying I will recommend this to all of my friends and anyone going to Montana.

Best vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the cabin for two weeks and absolutely loved everything about our stay. The cabin was stocked with everything we needed and provided a beautiful place to relax when we were not visiting GNP. The front deck was our favorite spot. The only sounds we heard were wildlife and the soothing sound of running water. The cabin was exceptionally clean and Donald and Jill were terrific hosts. They were very respectful of our privacy and they offered ideas for hikes close to the cabin when we inquired. I highly recommend a trip to Theriault Lakes...absolutely beautiful. I loved everything about this cabin. We will definitely stay again if we make it back. The only thing we did not like was leaving.

Beautiful, secluded property

  • 5 of 5

Idyllic setting and a classic cabin with all of the amenities one could ask for. Wonderful owners and a private setting (owners are located in a nearby house out of the line of sight). Hope to return.

A Cabin in The Forest

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is the place. Donald met us at the cabin and gave us the lowdown on how things worked. The cabin is beautiful as well as the forest where it is located. The rockers on the porch are a great place to just hang out and watch the fish in the pond. The Fly Fishing in Grave Creek was very productive. ( We let the fish go so someone else can catch them.) Eureka has a couple of markets so you can get some provisions to make dinner on the BBQ or pack a lunch to go hiking. The hiking is a 25 mile drive pasts where you turnoff to get to the cabin. There is an art gallery in Eureka called Silverfish where we found some fun things. If you are interested in going to Canada for the day, Fernie is just a little over an hour away. Lots of mountain biking there as well as fly fishing and hiking, just remember to bring your passport. At night, we had the creek lulling us to sleep. We had wonderful stay!

Mountain Memories

  • 5 of 5

Need to unwind, reconnect with family, inhale the scent of nature and not cars, witness humming birds swoop with delight as deer sip from the pond steps from your comfy wooden porch rocking chair...this is the escape you have needed. The cabin is well appointed, the owners are friendly and not obtrusive...you can hide from reality but WiFi is only a click away if you really need it. Had a fabulous 3 days. Look forward to returning to further explore the lakes and trails. The brewery close by is a definite plus.
