We are both born and raised Oregonians. As beautiful as all of Oregon is, our favorite place to relax and vacation is in Sunriver.
Sunriver is the perfect place to relax and have fun year around. We now have our unit available to us 12 weeks a year, but we still work and only have a few weeks of vacation, so we have decided to rent the weeks we are not using so that other people can enjoy Sunriver too.
We bought into this Condo because it is not only our favorite place to vacation, but also the place we can picture ourselves enjoying during retirement.
We start relaxing the minute we get in the car to go to Sunriver, because we know how peaceful it is. No matter what time of the year we go we know there will always be lots of fresh mountain air, blue sky and sunshine. We love the long walks and bike rides, golfing at any one of the beautiful Sunriver or local golf courses, or just going for a day hike or drive to one of the many scenic areas nearby.
We just returned from our week long stay in Sunriver and have nothing but great things to say. We've been going to Sunriver every summer and this is the first time we chose to rent a condo instead of a house--and we LOVED it. The condo is very large--spacious enough for hosting a family dinner party with 12 guests. The condo is very clean and the open floor plan makes spending time together easy. This particular unit is right across the driveway from the community pool and tennis court--neither of which were ever busy. The unit comes with SHARC passes for those days we were in the mood for a fast pace and water slides, but the community pool was great for low key playing and relaxing--and we never had to search for a chair! The owner was great--checked in with us just prior to our stay as well as half way through to make sure everything was okay. The Ridge is a 3 minute walk to the SHARC and a 10-15 min walk to the village so the location is ideal. Very quiet complex with a helpful staff. About the only suggestion I would have is to have a spice rack available for guests and perhaps mattress toppers as the beds are very firm. Other than that, I can't think of anything to change--we truly enjoyed our stay!
My family and I stayed for 5 nights at The Ridge in mid-July and thoroughly enjoyed every minute! The accommodations were clean, spacious, and close to much that Sunriver offers! We have 3 boys and they appreciated the location and being close to the Sharc water park. We cooked in a lot which was awesome! The kitchen was well stocked and didn't need to buy anything extra other than our food:) Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a convenient and fun place to stay!
Really enjoyed our stay at Unit 20. The accommodations were great and location perfect.
My husband and 10 year old son enjoyed our stay at this condo so much we didn't want to leave! It was a perfect stay from beginning to end. The place was easy and restful yet with plenty of recreation activity nearby. The owner was extremely communicative and helpful upfront, and when we arrived we felt at home immediately. The condo has everything you need while you are there--well stocked kitchen, pool towels by the front door, wood for the fireplace (which we didn't use as our visit was during hot weather), washer/dryer…nice jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. Sharc passes were great--my son enjoyed the water slide, playing basketball and volleyball in the water, and swimming in the pool. We also swam in the pool at the condo complex most every evening--pleasant and peaceful with a nice hot tub. The Ridge management were super nice and helpful. The condo was plenty spacious--we had our two adult kids join us briefly and it was very comfortable for all. There was also a sleeper sofa also which we did not use. The place is conveniently located right near The Village, and the bikes were great for getting to and from. We enjoyed hitting a couple buckets of balls at the Woodland Golf Course (right during the US Open at Chambers Bay), my son and husband biked to Benham Falls (rapids); we went for a pretty bike ride along the river, took the short drive to Bend, toured the Deschutes Brewery, and spent a full, amazing day at the High Desert Museum (not to be missed)…all in all a wonderful stay and we'd definitely do it again.
The condo was absolutely beautiful. It had everything that we needed or could even think of and was impeccably clean. It was also very, very quiet. The office staff was also very helpful. The master bed was very, very nice. Televisions were huge and had a tremendous variety of stations. Wifi was easily accessible.
We had very good weather and a variety as well. Three out of the four nights we had thunder and lightening. One of the eventful nights the thunder was like symbols crashing. I thought it was very exciting, but also a little scary.
My granddaughter (8 ys) bonded with two other little girls that were staying in the complex. They preferred the condo pool to SHARC. I don't think they were out of the water much. Just the times that the management closed the pool due to the lightening and thunder.
My grandson (16 ys) and his friend thoroughly enjoyed the SHARC. There was a teen night that they had a tremendous time.
The only forewarning that I would have is to take bug repellant if you get close to the river. The river is beautiful and I would definitely recommend renting a raft of some sort to enjoy the beauty of this area.
We had a family reunion of three generations plus double birthday celebrations, all gathered at this splendid condominium that met every expectation and need. Everything one could possibly need was there; everything worked. Both the owner and the staff at the property were helpful in every way. Our grandchildren reveled in the nearby waterpark, plus the availability of bicycles. There is also a very nice pool just steps away. We would happily recommend this property as a launching pad to enjoy the endless facilities that Sun River offers as well as the abundant historical, cultural, and geological sites within easy driving distance. There are enough wonders to keep you busy and entertained for a week. Or more! And you could not have a better home base than this condo.
Sunriver is a mountain resort community nestled on the Deschutes River at the base of Mt. Bachelor and the Three Sisters in Central Oregon a few miles South of Bend in Central Oregon. Mt. Bachelor provides premier skiing and snowboarding.
The Ridge complex is a short one-mile walk or bike ride to Sunriver Village, which features a grocery store, specialty shops and restaurants. The Ridge has its own seasonal swimming pool, hot tub and tennis court, so you don't have to leave the complex to enjoy swimming, soaking, sunbathing, or a set of tennis. Sunriver's new water park and sledding hill (SHARC) are right next door.
Sunriver has three major golf courses, including a top 100 course, 'Crosswater.' There are two athletic clubs and spas nearby. Sunriver Lodge is only 1 1/2 miles away with it’s own restaurants, 9-hole putting course, pro-shop and golf course.
There are lots of great restaurants in Sunriver and Bend, but you may choose to eat in as this unit comes complete with a large fully-equipped kitchen and gas BBQ. Costco, WalMart, factory outlets and major grocery stores are nearby in Bend.
Besides all the comforts of a growing city, the Bend Area also affords some of Oregon's best outdoor recreational opportunities, including skiing, hiking, climbing, rafting, fishing, hunting and golfing. The acclaimed High Desert Museum is only a few miles away.
Beautiful day trips can be taken to Mt. Bachelor, Lava Butte, Smith Rock State Park, Crater Lake National Park, Paulina Peak, Sisters, and dozens of mountain lakes and waterfalls.
