Beautiful historical home. Quiet and serene neighborhood. The home is tastefully decorated, clean and well furnished which it really makes it feel like home away from home. The owner was very responsive to correspondence and answered any questions that I had. Perfect gem in Cape Charles and great location.
This rental was lovely - perfect location, comfortable beds. We really appreciated the nice toiletries and towels in the bathrooms.
Would definitely stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Cape Charles. The house was very nice, true to description. Loved the neighborhood and everything was within walking distance.
This house suited our family’s needs very well. It has some beautiful historic features and lots of character. The kitchen has everything you need, and the rooms are comfortable.
Great house in a perfect location near great restaurants. The house was clean and well stocked. It was our first visit to Cape Charles, but it definitely won't be our last.
This was an absolutely lovely stay at Cape Charles! House was cozy and comfy and looked exactly like the photos! House was well stocked with kitchen appliances (toaster, keurig, regular coffee pot, blender, etc) which made cooking a breeze. Would definitely stay again, this town is magical and the house added to the magic.
We loved everything about this house. We booked at the last minute, and I kept saying the whole time how thankful I was that such a great house was available for us. Location was perfect, communication was SO quick and clear (and accommodating!), house was clean and comfortable. The property is older, but doesn't feel dusty or musty or anything! Would definitely rent again.
The good: super comfortable stay with kids (9 and 5) in charming house that had everything we needed and felt like home--probably best stocked vacation house I've ever stayed at. 100 year old house never felt cramped, kitchen is small but ingeniously laid out. Coffee on the front porch, watching kids and dogs go by, everyone was so friendly, felt like a real community. Distance to beach was no problem--we would walk the dogs to the beach in the morning, let them dry on the walk back, and then drive back with our gear for more beach time, had no issues parking. The bad: ummm the gate sticks a little? The can opener didn't work great?
We enjoyed our weekend stay in Cape Charles in this charming, quaint, and historic home. It felt like a step back in time, while enjoying modern efficiencies. The grill was convenient and we enjoyed the pool table in the game room. The linens and living areas were clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, etc.
The property manager was pleasant, communicative, and responsive. The only minor suggestions I have would be to have the cleaning crew set a reasonable temperature for arriving guests (it was 57 degrees inside when we checked in on a chilly Friday night) and have the downstairs HVAC system serviced, as it smelled a bit funky when we kicked the AC on. Other than those minor things, I would stay here again and highly recommend to others planning to visit the area!
We loved this pet friendly 1910 historic home. Coming on to the property dogs enjoyed the freedom of a fenced in back yard, screened in porch to a spacious dining room and fully equipment kitchen, 2nd bathroom/laundry room, to a cozy living room and a nice socializing space on the front porch. Upstairs comfy beds, huge bathroom. 1 queen, 1 full, 2 twin. Hose outside to rinse off the sand or wash dogs. Located 2 Blocks from Park/band stand. Golf cart rental a must easier to get to beach or drive, neighborhood very quiet home on the corner. Great game room plenty to do in rainy days. Beach supplies were A great perk! Roll cart umbrella, chairs etc. I would highly recommend this location
not told about renter on property & security concerns
The home was adorable, quaint, clean, good location,... no issues there. We did have a major issue that the game room/garage that was a part of the rental property had a rental unit above the garage and this was not disclosed. Although the renter was nothing but lovely, this put us on edge as you could imagine a stranger popping up unexpectedly, walking in and out of the property as he lived there and we had no idea... it was an awkward feeling that we did not appreciate as this is a stranger we had no idea about and we spent plenty of money on renting and assuming it would be private... we have kids and personal items and wanted to relax and let loose it felt odd someone being there that we didn't know was on premises... also, the code for both the main house and the garage/game area were the same - meaning the renter had access to all of our private areas we rented and this is a complete stranger that could have presumably went in and out of the home, garage, all the areas that were to be privately rented. This did not seem OK AT ALL and could be an easy fix. Please disclose this information to others and have a different lock code on the main house. If we could have made an informed decision about this and all disclosed ahead of time we would have felt very differently and not rented this particular home.
