A complete delight to stay in Richard's cozy cabin with the most breathtaking views. Everything we needed to make wonderful meals, sleep very well, read and play games, and go on the many walks and hikes on Pender. And so many amazing wildlife sightings from juvenile eagles to osprey's hunting to a family of otters to deer and their fawns in the front yard. We returned after a magical experience last year and will certainly return again. Richard is very welcoming and responsive and the whole experience is the restorative and nature immersive break we needed.

We’ve been coming to Richard’s cabin for several years. It has everything we need including an amazing view and quick beach access - which our boys love. Richard is also super easy to connect with regarding any questions.

We love Pender Island and have been there many times. It's hard to have a bad experience in this charming, friendly community.Of the various properties we've rented, this one may be the furthest south, making it a little more remote and very quiet. There are neighbors, but it was just as common to see animals and birds as it was to see people this far from the more populated parts of the north island. We adored the waterfront location on Plumper Sound and enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs down by the overlook. In addition, almost every room in the house has some sort of view, and there are chairs on the deck in several locations. Views, views, views!The cabin was spacious and my wife in particular found the bed very, very comfortable. She slept like a baby. There is a fully appointed kitchen with just about anything you could want for making your own meals. Communication with the host was easy and straightforward.Some might find the cabin and its furnishings a touch dated. For our needs, it was just fine. We spent our time walking the dogs, reading, doing puzzles, and enjoying the views. Nothing fancy. Price was extremely affordable, especially considering the views. Would return if the opportunity arose. Thanks to Richard for providing this lovely getaway spot.

Our Getaway

Perfect holiday cabin!

We have rented Richards cabin for 4 years in a row. Wonderful spot. Wouldn’t think of going elsewhere! Cabin was clean and everything in fine working order. We’ll be back next year!

Great location, view and essentials!

Enjoyed our second stay at Richard’s cabin. The view from the cabin is lovely and the location is central for exploring beautiful Pender Island. We also really appreciated having a well stocked kitchen for preparing meals at home. Richard was a good host and checked in with us during the stay. Would recommend this spot to anyone visiting Pender Island.

Scenic and peaceful

We spent a week on Pender Island and had the bestvtime. The home is cozy, clean and very well appointed. There is a lovely view from every angle and the surrounding area is very peaceful. Richard is an excellent host, very responsive and helpful. My family and I can’t wait to return next year.

Overall the property was very clean and as advertised. Pricing reflects the 'vintage' style and condition of the home. Beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed.

Spectacular ocean view

Comfortable but old cottage needing upgrades. The view of the ocean and surrounding area are amazing and inspirational. Well equipped with amenities and all systems in good working order.

Pender Cabin

We had a great stay at Richard’s cabin. It was very clean and everything worked flawlessly! Near the end of our stay we checked in with Richard to see if we could book another day and he immediately responded and made it happen! Thanks Richard!

What a gift to stay at this wonderful cozy home with stunning views of the ocean and Mt Baker, quiet peaceful neighbourhood, and on beautiful Pender. Richard is so welcoming and responsive and we felt right at home. Deer, kingfishers, river otters, ravens and more on our doorstep and refreshing swims in the ocean from the public beach just down the way. We also lucked out to join in the Fall Fair with its parade, music, vegetable art and more submissions, and lovely atmosphere.This was exactly the restful holiday we hoped for and we've already booked for longer next year! Highly recommend.

Serenity and beauty

We enjoyed every moment of our two weeks at Richard’s property. The views of the ocean and Mt. Baker are breathtaking and the only sounds are the birds and the ocean. It is so peaceful. And the house has a great porch with many places to sit and eat or read, the bed is so comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for cooking. We loved our beach walks with our dog, the Saturday market, the local bakery.And Richard was wonderful to communicate with. We hope to come back next year.
