About Spanish Wells:
The Beach House sits on a beautiful white sandy beach with shallow colorful water that is protected by a reef. The summer water temperatures can reach into the high 80's with a light sea breeze. The winter offers low humidity and the water and air temperature can be in the upper 70's with stronger north winds.
The private beach location is a short walk to shopping and dining. Spanish Wells is a unique place with a rich history dating back to the 1600's with ties to England. Lobster fishing is the main industry.
It is peaceful place to get away from city life and enjoy island living. A local fast ferry stops each day with connections to Harbour Island and Nassau. Golfcarts and watercraft are available for rent. Fishing trips can be arranged.
Getting there is easy with daily air service to North Eleuthra (ELH) from Fort Lauderdale Atlanta, or Miami airports. Flight time is aproximately one hour. The airport is serviced by silver airways- from FLL, American Airlines from Miami, and Delta from Atlanta-with 19 and 30 passenger aircraft. A cab cost about $20 to get from the airport to the island, including the cost of the water taxi.. The water taxi will bring you to St. Georges Cay ( spanish wells-)where the Beach House is located and the community is called Spanish Wells.

peaceful and beautiful
the beach house is a wonderful relaxing spot - right on the beach - quiet - with everything you need, kayaks, paddleboard, bicycles ..
Perfect home on a charming and friendly island
This was our first trip to Spanish Wells. It is such a charming and welcoming island. Kiss a Fish was super clean, very comfortable, and had everything we needed for a fantastic week. The owner and caretakers are attentive and very helpful.
The views from the deck have to be the best on the island. Our teenagers enjoyed the bikes and took a ride every afternoon to scoops for icecream. The beach is just steps from the home and we were generally the only ones on it. The home has lots of games, great internet and tv, very comfortable beds and bedding, outside seating and beach toys etc. We will be back and we hope to stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
We enjoyed our stay very much!
The beachfront home was perfect, comfortable and having the beach so close was spectacular.
Everything You Need
My husband and I recently spent a week at Kiss A Fish. Our arrival was made simple by the caretakers, who met us at the ferry with a golf "buggy" already at our disposal for the week. We found the house to be lovely, comfortable, spotless, and fully equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The house is built on elevated pylons. The view from the open living area/kitchen is spectacular, with a gorgeous wrap-around view of the azure sea. The huge deck was where we spent most of our time, enjoying the choice of shade or sun, breezes, and that wonderful view. A short walk down a sandy path leads to the beach.
Our only (slight) disappointment with this location was that the water is no more than hip-deep for as far out as you can walk. We would have preferred access to a little deeper, cooler water for floating and swimming. On the other hand -- if you're vacationing with young children -- the warm, shallow, crystal waters with virtually no wave action are perfect. We saw a number of such families in vacation homes up and down the beach, and they were clearly enjoying themselves! The shallow, flat water is perfect for kayaks and paddle boards, both of which are provided at Kiss A Fish.
Though the house is fully air-conditioned, we only used the unit in the bedroom for sleeping. The days were warm, but with windows and the large sliding door open, we were very comfortable all day. We had only one day where the breezes dropped off and made things less comfortable. There were just two of us, but the house would comfortably accommodate at least four more. The living area offers lots of lounging space. The kitchen includes an adjoining breakfast bar, a dining table for six, as well as a dining table under cover on the deck.
We bought breakfast and lunch items at the Food Mart, but ate dinners out. Our favorite places were Budda's and The Shipyard, and we also had a nice lunch at The Sandbar on Russell Island, just across the bridge.
Spanish Wells is a perfect place for families to spend time together relaxing and enjoying the beach. If you want more diversion than that, there are boats for hire, and guides will take you to neighboring island locations, fishing or snorkeling. Kiss A Fish is in a fantastic location. I highly recommend it.
Best location on the island
Our family of four (two girls 12 and 17) stayed for a week the first week of June 2017. We were looking for a vacation in a less traveled area where we could snorkel, fish and enjoy the beach without the crowd. This location was perfect!
The beach was about 50 yards from the house and an easy walk. Took a little effort to get the kayak and paddleboard down to the beach, but not too bad. So glad they were available for our use! Sand flats directly in front of the house and to the right (East) with grassy flats to the left. There was even a man made reef with small tropical fish and sea life right in the sand flats in front of the house. We aren't avid snorkelers but did bring our masks and explored the water right out the back door almost every day. Also fished every day catching small snapper, grouper, (no keepers) and barracuda. Saw lots of bonefish but could not get them to bite.
The house was classic beach bungalow. We are from N Florida so familiar with beach homes. There are neighbors on both sides but we didn't see them much and had the beach in front of the house to ourselves most of the time. Having a/c units in each of the rooms was nice as was the water cooler. The water on the island is very salty as is the air so things rust rather quickly. The new sofa was great! And the sound system was fabulous - we used it everyday! The kids loved the wifi and stayed connected with friends - just kept phones in airplane mode the whole time. The breeze at the house was fabulous. We didn't have to use bug spray once!
The grocery store (Food Fair) was a quick golf cart ride away - though not open Sundays and Wednesday afternoons. They do take credit cards. We took much of our own food, even frozen meat and just got perishables from the store. Thursday is the best day to go. The bank with ATM (Bahamian currency) is near the Food Fair but was closed when we were there (change in banks and holiday weekend - Labour Day and Whit Monday). Most restaurants as well as Food Fair took credit cards, but everyone else is cash only.
Several causal restaurants on the island, though we cooked most of the time. Did visit Wreckers, Sandbar, Budda's Snack Bar and Anchor Snack Bar - all were great.
Did a day charter with Captain Ryan Neilly and had a great time! Fished, saw the pigs, went to the sand bar and had a great day.
Never having been to the island we weren't sure what to expect, but were all very happy, made some great memories and hope to visit again!
