Absolutely charming and well kempt. Hosts communicative and available and attention to details throughout. Loved the lake and paddleboards and morning coffee on the deck. Great for family of 6 for gathering and meals
Stunning cottage on a lake that is home to the city's beach and public fishing areas. No motorized boats are permitted (it is a small lake), which allowed us to safely enjoy quiet paddles around the water, and a quiet porch and deck. Loved that there were extra rooms to get away when we needed some quiet time too. Our toddler grandson loved the playgrounds across the pond. We all took advantage of the proximity to museums and landmarks. Such a wonderful stay! Terri & Jay are amazing hosts!
Terri and Jay were very helpful. The house was terrific with a well- equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and plenty of space. I used the kayak each morning and we enjoyed sunsets from the deck each night.
The lake house was comfortable, well-equipped, and peaceful. The view over the lake, and access to a boat and kayak, were a wonderful bonus.

The property sits on a very narrow small mini lake well stocked with fish. It is perfect for kayaking, paddle boarding and fishing. The house had everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Very Relaxing
My family and I really enjoyed staying at Windsor Cottage. It was roomy, comfortable and had everything we needed. I especially loved the swing on the downstairs deck. My 17 year old son loved, loved, loved the fishing. We will definitely be looking to stay there again next year.

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this wonderful review and thank you for staying with us. We love the swing too. I just bought a new set of big plush pillows for it for even better naps!! Our stocked lake is a favorite with many locals and tourists as well. I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again!!
Lovely 3-bedroom home on a lake with everything it takes to make a terrific vacation: dock, boats, porch, deck, large LR/DR. And literally a 2 minute car ride or a 5 minute boat ride to a sandy kids' beach with playgrounds.

Very glad to hear that you had a good stay! Our little lake is a place of respite and enjoyment for many. My favorite time is early morning when the fish are everywhere and even the local bald eagle might make an appearance!!
We had an amazing stay here! The house is very cute and well decorated with lots of dishes, games, towels, etc. The screened in porch great. And then the real highlight was the beautiful lake and all the kayaks, paddleboards and boats that come with the house. And the owner was great throughout, answering all of our questions and even shipping us a couple of items we left behind.
The home was well equipped and included boats and a well stocked kitchen. The park across the lake was noisy and lots of people were boating and fishing on a relatively small lake.

I am so glad that you enjoyed the cottage. Early June is a very exciting time for us in the Northeast after being inside all winter. Everyone comes out and enjoys the lake with enthusiasm. Once the newness dies down, it gets quieter again, but as long as there are children on the beach we can hear the joyful noises of their playing. Luckily the lake is stocked and there are plenty of fish for everyone. Even if you don’t catch anything (which is doubtful), having the opportunity to float around and just bask in the beauty of being nestled among the Berkshire hills is a treat.
LOVE this place!
It has absolutely everything a family could want: dock for little people to collect cattails; canoes and boats for finding the eagle; small, best-kept-secret lake 2 minutes away; 3 playgrounds!; large deck and large screened porch; large living room.
And the owner is fabulous about checking in to see everything is okay, telling us about a robin's nest on the deck, etc.
We loved it.

So glad to hear that you and your family enjoyed your stay. We love that families are making memories at the lake that will last a lifetime. The eagle family has been wonderful to observe, as well as the great blue heron and the turtle families. We welcome you back next year to see more changes and updates!!
The house was comfortable. Having the boats was great. The owners were super attentive to any problem. Lovely area. Only problem was with the grill which had problems in starting

Lovely cottage on Windsor lake!
We had a great stay at Windsor cottage, I was only disappointed that we hadn't booked it for longer. The cottage was very clean, nicely decorated, well equipped, and comfortable. We enjoyed fishing from the dock, kayaking, swimming in the the lake, and the easy access to nearby biking, hiking, and theatre. We also had many enjoyable meals on the porch overlooking the lake. The owners were very responsive and helpful when we had a question during our stay.

We are very happy that you enjoyed your stay and that you found the new dock helpful. Windsor Cottage is a great place to get away from it all!!
We had such a wonderful time at Windsor Cottage. There was plenty of room for 6 adults to spread out. We enjoyed all the lake had to offer, from fishing to lazing on the deck. Sunrises were gorgeous and peaceful. The kitchen was very well appointed. We ordered a grocery delivery from a local store for our first day so we wouldn't have to waste time shopping. Terri was a great host, friendly, polite & available to answer any questions. Overall it was a great vacation!

Thank you for staying. I love the idea to get groceries delivered to enable more time for enjoying the cottage and the surroundings!
We enjoyed a very relaxing getaway as a group of 3 generations. There was so much room for all of us and everything you could want or need: kitchen fully equipped, laundry, A/C and fans, games, movies, fishing right off the dock, kayaks, canoe, rowboat and life vests. Beautiful setting with park right across the lake. Screened in porch with large porch swing is heavenly! Owner is very responsive and wonderful to deal with. We really enjoyed Hancock Shaker Village, Mass MoCa, Berkshire Cider Project, and Mt. Greylock, among many other things close by.

About the host
Hosted by Terri
We purchased Windsor Cottage in September 2013 from the couple who built it 35 years prior. It was a well loved family retreat, but had not been updated since it was built. Despite the decor, we recognized it as a very special place. We spent 9 months bringing it into the 21st Century, while striving to make it inviting and comfortable. For fun and comparison, we have displayed pictures of each room prior to the renovation throughout the home. It has become a place that we enjoy with friends and family to celebrate life and relax. We have decided to share the home with others so that they can experience the unique beauty and tranquility of Windsor Cottage as well.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I grew up in the Berkshires and we both have fond memories of time spent at Windsor Lake. When the rare chance to purchase one of the few lakeside properties came up we jumped at it. North Adams is the smallest city in Massachusetts, but there are hundreds of cultural and natural attractions in the area and Vermont is only about a 15 minute drive North. No matter what you want to do, golf, ski, shop, tube, fish, take in a play, visit a museum or take a scenic drive, you can do it from here. If you want to visit a big city we are only 2.5 hours from Boston or 3 hours from New York City. Our location truly encompasses the best of both worlds!
What makes this property unique
We fell in love with this property immediately when we walked in the door. There is something special about the place. My favorite pastime is to sit and watch the water and see how it changes from day to day and moment to moment throughout the year and to take advantage of the many hiking trails that can be accessed from the property. The house has been designed for relaxation and enjoyment and we continue to make yearly updates and improvements.
