About Terry

We purchased this house in August of 2011 as a vacation get away for our family.

My Father and Mother built the house in the late 90's as their retirement home. In 2008 they sold the house, and when it came back on the market in 2011 we jumped at the chance to bring it back in to the family.

Terry purchased this house in 2011

Why Terry chose Terrebonne

We love the amazing views coupled with the peace and tranquility of the location. Central Oregon has been a favorite vacation destination for our families for decades. We hope we can share this special part of Oregon with you.

A Peaceful Oasis

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed here with our dog over the week of July 4th, and I can honestly say that it was probably the first July 4th I've enjoyed in 12 years.

What began as Operation Fireworks Fugitives evolved to one of the most relaxing vacations my husband and I have had in years. We tend to be constantly busy and running around in our day to day life, so the feeling of just stopping and relaxing was so amazing. Our biggest excitement was spending most of the day on the front porch reading and eating a shameful amount of blueberry cobbler during the day, then moving to the back porch in the evenings to consume cold beers and watch the sun set. I can't describe how beautiful the views from the back porch are, you just have to experience them yourself. There is a wonderfully abundant amount of wildlife from bunnies to deer to coyotes to ravens. It was like a real life nature program 24/7. The walking path behind the house is amazing. We walked it 1-2 times a day every day to check out the views of the mountains, and for me to revert to being 5 years old at the sight of the adorable mini-horses along the way. We ran into a lot of locals on the walking path, and everyone was so welcoming and friendly to us. We felt like locals by the end of our stay!

The house is so beautiful, modern and comfortable. It had everything we needed and then some. We did venture out to Bend and to the Sandbaggers Saloon (tasty lunch!), but the house was so wonderful and the views from it were so beautiful that we were content hanging around there most of the time.

Instead of hours of illegal fireworks, our July 4th this year was filled with silence and enjoying the evening sunset. The biggest excitement that evening was a herd of bucks coming into the yard and standing not more than 20 feet from where we were sitting. I didn't know it was possible to experience quiet and peace on July 4th! We slept! Our dog slept! Hallelujah! We decided then and there that this house was going to be a yearly tradition.

The ONLY thing you should be aware of, and maybe this is an us issue, but we had zero cell reception there and couldn't send/receive calls or texts. We didn't care per say on a general level, but were concerned in case of an emergency. It's probably a pain to install a land line, but might be something to keep in mind. Other than that, the house is perfect!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review. We are so glad you had a peaceful and relaxing stay. We look forward to having you back! Mobile service can be spotty depending on your carrier. It is funny you mention this because next week we are planning to install internet phone service at the house so there would be a reliable phone regardless of mobile carrier. Thank you again! - Terry and Ann Edit: phone is up and running, 7/13/17

Relaxing Birthday weekend

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year we have stayed here for my birthday. The morning views of the mountains are great. Place is nice and quit.

This year we took my brother and sister in law and there daughter. One of the days we walked the trails behind the house to the playground. Enjoyable walk with them and our two Dogs. Everyone we ran into on the trails and at the park was super friendly.

The house is well stocked with everything you can think of. Tons of games and puzzles. Kitchen is well stocked with a lot of spices, cooking oils, oatmeal, Coffee.

In the two times we have stayed here it has become one of our favorite places to stay. My wife and I have even talked about moving into the area. Thanks again for a great home to stay in and a great weekend.

Great Weekend!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a great weekend! The house is beautiful and very well maintained. Communication with owners was excellent. The kitchen was very well stocked. My two young children, ages 3 and 5, did great. We did not experience any problems during our stay. I would recommend this property and we would absolutely stay here again.

Fantastic Birthday

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit and once again we loved every minute of it. This home has everything you could possibly ask for. There is no detail left undone. The view is fantastic and dealing with Terry is an absolute pleasure. We can't wait for our next opportunity to visit.

Another great stay

  • 5 of 5

This is either our 4th or 5th stay at this house and we still enjoy it. We appreciated the upgrades since the last time: new Blue Ray player that accepts USB memory sticks; new tea pot; very comfy recliner and full bed in the third bed room. The house has always been very clean. We really like the views of the mountains and the walking track out in front of the house. The hike to nearby Steelhead Falls with 1" of snow covering everything was especially beautiful. The owners are very friendly and responsive. I am sure we will be back.

For those of you with AT&T mobile phones, you will have trouble with reception. We brought our Google Project Fi phone this time that switches between T-mobile/Sprint/US Cellular and were able to make calls just fine.
