If you're looking for solitude and privacy, this is your cabin. All the comforts of home and then some. Stayed here in early spring, would love to return in winter and summer.
Great place to stay if you are visiting Shenandoah NP
The cabin was in a perfect location for our visit to SNP. Everything was as advertised. Very clean, well stocked with everything we needed, host communication was great and the hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking in the park.
This cabin had everything needed for a restful weekend. We enjoyed the hot tub on the covered deck (even in the rain), the fireplace, the incredibly comfortable king bed, and the peacefulness of the wooded area! Hope to stay again very soon.
The cabin was perfect! It’s in an awesome location just minutes from Skyline Drive, very private and one with nature! We loved just relaxing on the porch and listening to nothing but the birds and other creatures. It was just what we needed and can’t wait to go back!
We had a wonderful time in this amazing cabin. It was absolutely perfect for us to celebrate our anniversary. Great access to Shenandoah National Park and the surrounding area, yet secluded. When we were here we felt like the only two people within miles. We can’t wait to come back.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed the privacy and coziness of the cabin immensely. We toured Luray Caverns, Monticello, Montpelier and the Meem's Covered Bridge. I would definitely recommend going to the Bridge. The Hostess was very accommodating about any of our concerns, and that was greatly appreciated. Great Place.
This property was phenomenal! It was just as described and so private. The hot-tub and deck were our favorite parts. The back deck was secluded and it wasn't possible to hear any of the neighboring cabins throughout our visit. The owner was great at communicating before our visit and was open to help throughout our stay! Overall, such a great location and property!
We visit a national park every anniversary and stay at a cabin with a hot tub and a view. This one was VERY nice and had the little details you see at a 4+star hotel from folded towels, bath robes, and good coffee. This cabin is just 15 min away from skyline drive and the furnished kitchen meant we didn’t need to eat out (we love to cook). Highly recommend to couples who love each other’s company and love to escape to the quiet of mountains. Also would recommend seeing Luray caverns of you have any bad weather days.
Great location, close to Shenandoah National Park and many other attractions. Also, it felt very private without being completely remote (we have T-Mobile and the phone signal was good).
The cabin was clean and the amenities were excellent. The bed was very comfortable (it was on the firmer side, which is my personal preference). We did not get to use the hot tub, but the porch was a lovely place to sit, listen to the birds, and have a meal.
The host was lovely and recommended great apps to use while hiking.
Highly recommend this cabin!
My husband and I stayed here for a few days to rest and recharge. It's such a nice, peaceful place. Although there are other houses, it's still incredibly private. If you like to hike, an entrance to Shenandoah National Park is very close. The host is very responsive. A couple of tiny changes would help. There was no dish brush to wash dishes. There were only enough dishes/silverware for 4 so when we ate 3 meals at the cabin we had to wash dishes a couple times a day. Having enough for 6 would be ideal. The trash can in the kitchen did not have a lid so in order to keep food odor down we had to bag trash ins smaller plastic bags. Overall a beautiful place!
We had the best few days during our stay. We loved this little cabin so much. So clean. So open and bright with a great layout. The kitchen was so well equipped and super functional. The king sized bed was so comfortable! Just a short drive to the park entrance. This is the perfect place to relax, bird watch and enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains. Our host was a pleasure to work with, and could not have been nicer!
Wonderful location- secluded and so peaceful! Cabin was perfect for two and so clean ! Thank you Kelly for allowing us to stay at this perfect little getaway! Everything was perfect!
Nestled among the trees, this cabin is everything described and more. Comfortable, peaceful, soul-nourishing. My dog and I took hiking adventures and then had this special gem of a place to come back to for rest and relaxation. Spent as much time out on the deck reading and listening to the birdsong as possible - even during rainstorms the deck was perfect. It was too hot outside for me to want to use the hot tub, but I would definitely avail myself of that amenity in the cooler temps. 100 out of 10!!
The hottest days so we just enjoyed the peaceful solitude. The cabin was clean and everything there working perfectly. Hot tub was amazing and our dog really enjoyed all the new smells & sounds from the deck!We would go again!
Cozy cabin perfect for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed rocking on the porch and soaking in the hot tub. The cabin was clean, bed comfortable, and overall setting was perfect. Kelly was a great host, informative and responsive.
Beautiful cabin! Comfortable. Clean. Next door to Shenandoah National Park. Easy drive to Luray Caverns. We also visited American Civil War sites. If we are ever lucky enough to return to beautiful Virginia, we would definitely stay in this cabin again!
Overall fantastic stay that's just as nice as advertised and in the case of the kitchen and bathroom even better than it looks in the pictures. The only two things not apparent from the listing (at least at the time of writing) is that the cabin is about a mile or so down a gravel road depending which direction you come from (although it should be easily passable in pretty much any vehicle) and the pet fee, which was a bit steep at 100 per pet. Nonetheless, we very much enjoyed our weekend there and exploring the area's wineries and breweries with our dogs!
We've traveled around the U.S. visiting national parks, and I have to say everything about this cabin was the best we've ever experienced. It was comfortable, clean, and "just like home". We had great communications with the owner when we had questions. There was a nice supply of firewood for the fireplace and warm water for the hot tub. Very convenient to the national park and easy drive to communities if you'd prefer to eat out instead of cooking at home. Thanks for the great stay!
We are Kelly, William and Trex. We live in Southeast Pennsylvania where we work as a speech therapist, tech support manager, and faithful pooch. We love the outdoors, and have a great appreciation for nature. We love to share the peace, tranquility, and romance of our cabin in the Shenandoah area. We hope you enjoy it and make happy memories for yourselves. Happy Trails, Kelly and William (and Trex too!)
Why they chose this property
We chose to purchase this property, with hopes that we would relocate to the Charlottesville, VA area for its outdoor lifestyle. Our jobs keep us in Pennsylvania, but we enjoy 6-7 trips to Romance Ridge per year to take in the beauty and serenity of the mountains and hike the trails in the Shenandoah National Park.
What makes this property unique
Romance Ridge is located at the doorstep of the Shenandoah National Park, and is equidistant between University of Virginia in Charlottesville, and James Madison University in Harrisonburg. With two ski resorts close by at Masannutten and Wintergreen, it's not easy to choose! Luray Caverns is an easy day trip. There are numerous, breweries and vineyards in the area, along with antique shoppes, wildlife management areas, and country roads to explore and take in the undeveloped scenery. The Shenandoah Valley is rich with history, from Civil War trails to James Madison's Monticello, James Monroe's Ash Lawn, and James Madison's Montpelier. No matter your destination, we are sure you will enjoy the peace, solitude, and serenity of the cabin itself. Enjoy your stay!
