Whilst the property is in the spacious grounds of the owners holiday home, The owners never stay when guests have booked this property so you will have total privacy and the garden space all to yourselves.
In this 3 bedroom, modern barn conversion, you will find comfortable corners to relax, space to play and a calmness close to mother nature. All whilst being within a great cycling area, close to many beautiful villages, bustling towns and the Lacs du Haute Charente are only 20 minutes drive away.
Within a small hamlet down a country lane, 5 minutes from your local village with your day to day amenities and 12 kms from the bustling town of La Rochefoucauld with its 14th century renaissance style Chateau, modern day amenities and the best Chocolate shop in the area!
35 minutes drive & you are in Angouleme, the once capital city of the Charente Department (16), International capital of Comics, Host to the yearly Circuit du Ramparts, and Ville d'Art et d'Histoire (Town of Art and History). Thanks to its perched position, the city is nicknamed the “balcony of the southwest” France. When you stand at its edge looking over the surrounding countryside – you’ll know exactly how it got that name.

Drive a little east of Le Grange Charentais and you will find the Lacs Du Haute Charente a stunning duo of lakes ready for your fun, sailing, swimming, fishing, horse-riding, sunbathing, cycling, Kayaking or just sipping something cool on the terrace of its various bars and restaurants dotted around the edges. A safe place for swimming is at Beach 16 or hiking is a favourite pastime of visitors in this area also.
From Angouleme it's a 30 minute train ride into the centre of Bordeaux, or if you fancy a day trip to Paris under 3 hours will get you there by TGV (fast train)
Fancy a country drive out? The property is situated on the doorstep of the Périgord-Limousin Natural Regional Park (Parc naturel régional Périgord-Limousin) where there are many beautiful drives through tiny villages and countryside. Walking trails criss cross this area in multiple numbers and picnic spots abound. " Ask us to pack a picnic basket for you and you're on your way to a lovely day out without the hassle"
Don't fancy leaving the property? You have plenty of space to chill or play, A trampoline for the kids, lawn space for a game of outdoor badminton? There are plenty of books, games and puzzles for you to spend a quiet hour or two, find a quiet spot for a chilled book read and a few refreshments in your private garden, overlooked only by the two neighbouring ponies grazing in the field next door.
3 bedrooms, (suitable for 5 adults only, although can accommodate 4 adults and 2 children. as there is a trundle bed in the 3rd bedroom which can be made up ready for the 2nd child) 2 bathrooms, A reading corner, a large comfy modular sofa, plenty of DVD's ( currently no Television channels however there is a HDMI cable should you wish to stream from your device) and a fully equipped kitchen are all ready for you to enjoy your break away from your every day.
A welcome basket of local goodies or staple food basics, can be arrange for your arrival. Having a special occasion while your here then order a cake (Gateaux) to be delivered on the day, let us know the occasion, the style and the flavour and we will organise the rest for you.
Bringing Kids? there is so much for children to do in the area from Go Karting, Chateaux visits with reenactments, theme parks, adventure parks, a kitchen big enough for cooking lessons, a garden with space to play ball games and so much more, just ask for recommendations (Many of these are in the Guest Compendium in the dining room, for you to take out the hassle of searching for ideas)

We Cherie and Ian are an Australian / British couple who have worked in the hotel and restaurant industry as managers for over 20 years when we moved to France we wanted to share our love of hosting and hospitality with others. We are the property mangers for 3 Gites whose owners all live overseas and entrust us to share their beautiful vacation homes with others. The Charente and Haute Vienne areas are where we have lived for 5 years and we just love the diversity of History, outdoor natural and man made facilities and areas to explore. We love the quiet of the tiny villages and hamlets and that we are never too far from a beautiful city or large town when we are after a bit more excitement 😊 The Lac Du Haute Charente and the Plan deu at Roumazieres being 2 of our favourite spots for spending time on the water, with the Canoeing and Kayaks of Confolens being close 2nd. The variety of Chateaux and historical sites so close by mean we are often out exploring the area ourselves on at least 1 Sunday every week, we do hope you will get a chance to experience this gorgeous area of France, but if not we hope it means you are enjoying your accommodation so much that you are happy to spend your days in the quite of there.

The main house is the treasured holiday home of the owners who come over twice every year for an extended stay, however NEVER stay when there are guests in the Grange, so you have the property ground exclusively for you and your guests.
