Tammy booked my property for 2 adults and agreed to our policy of the primary renter being at least 25 years of age. So it was a surprise and a concern to me when four young men checked in. When I asked Tammy about this, I noted that “four young men who we would not normally rent to due to their suspected age” (being under 25) had checked in. Tammy disclosed that her sons were 22 and 23 and she would join them later in the weekend. I answered a question of hers and reiterated our policy. In total through the weekend, Tammy sent me 7 messages and I sent her 4. I never followed up on when she was arriving or threatened to evict. I did say that I value honesty and I felt like I’d been lied to given the number of guests as well as their age and the breach in our house rules. Given the fact that there were no complaints or disturbances reported, I felt comfortable enough to allow the boys to stay and enjoy their weekend. In kindness, I told Tammy this could be considered 3rd party booking resulting in eviction and no refunds, so to be careful in future bookings of house rules and when specifying number of guests.
