Delightful and secluded
Just a delightful secluded ambiance!! We really enjoyed staying there. I hope to come back again and stay here.
It’s really close to the Monument and close to everything we wanted to do in grand junction.
This is a very special property and feels so open, comforting and inviting. My dog, Harper met the owner's dogs 9 and 10 and they enjoyed playing together. There is a wonderful easy walking trail behind the property and the ponds are so wonderful to swim in whether you are human or dog! I'm grateful to have stayed here and in fact cancelled my initial plans and booked an additional week because I loved it so much!

Your kind words made our day—thank you! It was a pleasure having you as our guest.
Perfect spot for a break from the action, while having full access to all the area has to offer. Secluded and private with plenty of room for the pups to enjoy a good romp. We will be back!
The carriage house was so peaceful and homey. It was definitely a perfect place to lay back and relax. We will definitely come back.

Very nice place to stay with beautiful views!
We loved staying here rather than a hotel. Very relaxing and peaceful. Great place to take our dogs with us as well. Really nice setup and very clean. Would stay again! Would just bring our own coffee mugs, as the ones they had were really small ones.
The property was absolutely perfect for our 3 night stay with our dogs. Great location, about 1 mile from town. We walk a lot and the dogs thoughly enjoyed themselves. What a property, grass for days. Highlight of the trip was the Farmers Market on Sat am. Great people and wnderful energy. Would stay here again in a min!

We absolutely loved our stay at the carriage house, it was so nice and cozy and with the lush green grass right outside our door made for a wonderful play area for our pup. We did not want to leave.

We loved the property and the carriage house. Our kids rode the paved bike trail next to the house. Loved seeing cows out the back window, and we could not smell them. The proximity to the Monument is a huge plus, and we enjoyed downtown Fruita which was only a few minutes away

Nice property, would definitely return!
We enjoyed our stay at this rental property. It was great for dogs, as they had plenty of room to run. It was also conveniently located near the center of town--about 1.5 miles. The kitchen was well-equipped and although we didn't make dinner there, it would be easy to do so. The only thing missing is a coffee grinder.

We stayed for 17 days while my husband was hunting and it was just excellent. The area and town of Fruita are adorable. The property sits right on one of the walking paths making it easy to hop on. The whole area. Is very walkable and the people are very nice. The farmers market in Fruita is an absolute gem and Im sad to have only gone twice. Everyone wants to chat, its a special little place. The property was perfect for our needs, while I didnt realize the owners lived on site and that the shared garage meant other people would be there daily...it didnt matter at all. The owners and dogs are so kind and dogs well.behaved they were all a pleasure to be around. The dogs LOVED the pond. The bed runs hot and the pillows are just ok but the place had everything we needed. So wonderful and very safe feeling.

Top Notch!
We have stayed at the Carriage House several times - we enjoy the quiet nature of the property, the views, the large lawn to play with the dog, and appreciate how clean and comfortable it always is. It is always easy to store the bikes, and we love the outdoor seating for meals. We don't watch a lot of TV, but like the new set-up (with the TV lower). We feel like it is a home away from home!

Our 2nd amazing visit.
This was our second stay here as a home base while visiting relatives in the area. Everything is beautiful here. The views of Colorado National Monument are outstanding. Sitting on the front porch to watch the sunrise, sunset, or the night sky is a vacation all by itself. The house itself is extremely comfortable, well designed, and well equipped. Our dog loves roaming the large fenced-in acreage. The setting is peaceful, quiet, private, and secure. Mike and Kristy are wonderful to work with.
This property is especially good for people with dogs, and would also be great for disabled guests as the house has no steps and is wheel-chair friendly. We highly recommend this property.

Absolutely fantastic stay! This property is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy sunrises and sunsets. The views were simply stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for morning coffee and evening relaxation. The outdoor seating area was an ideal spot to take in the natural beauty, and the tranquil surroundings made it easy to forget the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The house itself was spotless and well-appointed, with all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the living spaces were cozy and inviting. Our dogs had a great time too! The property is very pet-friendly, with plenty of space for them to run around and explore. It was such a relief to find a place that welcomes dogs with open arms.
Overall, I can't recommend this place enough. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base for outdoor adventures, this Vrbo rental has it all. We can't wait to return!

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review, it is appreciated! We are thankful that you and your furry companions had such a great time and look forward to hosting you again in the future!
Home great and location awesome. We were disappointed that the owners dogs were out 2x and we had to bring our dogs in as they came over to our rental area and on 1 occasion came after our dogs! Also watering great for grass but often so wet we were walking in water and at times limited our activities. We decided to leave a day earlier after several people came in to common garage attached to our rental. We were given access to garage but not comfortable with fact that 3 people accessed on the rental property without any notice to us. Felt unsafe due to access issues! Very disappointed in Communication related to former. ! Joani

A wonderful escape
It is interesting reading the previous reviews and seeing how the owners responded by making improvements. We laughed at the comment about the TV -- it is no longer 12 feet in the air, but it gets only a handful of channels and, yes, we agree, you are not supposed to be watching TV here. By day you are exploring -- we golfed at Redlands Mesa one day, journeyed to Montrose to play the Bridges another day, and caught two national parks along the way. Staying here, you are 10 minutes from Colorado National Monument, which is not to be missed -- and thank you to Kristy for filling us in on that. If you don't want to hike you can simply drive the rim road in a leisurely couple of hours. At the end of your activities, you come "home" to a completely stocked kitchen and gas grill, hopefully to dine al fresco on the locally sourced food (beef, corn, peaches, yum!) and wine (Two Rivers, also only about 15 minutes from the house) you have picked up along the way. With no TV you can hear cows and birds, maybe a rooster. We loved our stay and hope to return for a longer one.

CLEAN, MODERN, SPACIOUS PROPERTY, PRIVATE
This was the second time we stayed at this property, so that says a lot right there. The description of the property and location is 100% accurate. Coming from a very disappointing stay in Estes Park, this property was a welcome relief. It has modern appliances that all work. There is a great deal of privacy and no noise from any other houses. You can hear a rooster crow and some horses - it is wonderful. There is a running/cycling/multi-use path right by the property. The view out the front window is the Colorado National Monument. The bedding is good. The air conditioning is good. We did not cook there but it is a well equipped kitchen if you want to do that. There are two bathrooms , a bedroom and a sleeper couch in the living room. We actually drove to Moab from this location along a beautiful road and went to Canyonlands from this location as well. Grand Junction is an interesting city as well with lots of restaurants and activities. This property is a suitable location for lots of outdoor activities as well and is very mountain bike friendly . I would stay here again without a second thought and recommend this location to anyone. Try Pablo's pizza in Grand Junction if you go.

About the host

Kristy and Mike have been providing property management services for luxury properties for the past 30 years. We fell in love with the Fruita area because of it's year round sunshine and abundance of outdoor activities. Our goal is to make your stay with us 5 stars!
Why they chose this property
We built the Guest House in 2008 on 5 acres of property just outside of the Fruita City limits. The home is perfectly situated to maximize the views of the Colorado National Monument. We enjoy the wide open space, no neighbors and yet just 5 minute drive to town. The houses are surrounded by green grass all summer and makes the hot summers feel cooler.
What makes this property unique
Spread out on five private acres with Monument views, a fire-pit patio, BBQ, fast Wi-Fi, smart TV, full kitchen, bikes, and pet-friendly space—just minutes from the Colorado National Monument and top trails.
