True Ski-in/Ski-Out - it Doesn't Get Any More Simple Than This

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,004 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-7)

Secluded in the trees beside the American Flyer lift, The Lodge at Copper provides the ultimate ski-in/ski-out experience. As great as it is to step out the back door and ski/board right to the lift, it is even better to ski/board right to the back door after a day on the mountain! (No equipment to carry, no boots to ruin walking across parking lots and down sidewalks and no buses.) Stop in during the day for lunch or to warm up – just because you can! All the 2 bedroom condos in the village have similar prices - you might as well stay in the best location!!

When the lifts shut down, put your skis/boards in your own personal ski locker in the heated garage. Our recently remodeled unit is tucked away in the northwest corner on the first floor of The Lodge. The community washer and dryer are right across the hall – perfect to dry those mushy snow clothes – bring your quarters! Relax those tired muscles and meet your friends in the community hot tub. Then unwind in front of the gas fireplace and 42” TV with Blue-ray player. Don’t forget to check your email – the building is wireless! The fully equipped kitchen can handle everything from a light snack to Thanksgiving Dinner - all new appliances in 2015. If you are too “wiped” from the day, have a family game night. We have Dominoes, Uno, Apples to Apples, and more. You can always enjoy a movie!

When you don’t want the day to end, not only is The Lodge the best ski location, it is just steps to Center Village. There is plenty to do after the lifts close for the day. Enjoy the restaurants, shopping, ice skating, music, and more.

When it is finally time to say goodnight, the master bedroom has a queen size bed, and it features an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. It is a perfect place for the kids to hang out and play video games. If you need a little extra space, the couch folds out into a double bed.

The Lodge at Copper is the ideal place to enjoy all that Copper Mountain Resort has to offer. Come check us out!

About Sherri Kravec

We are Ted and Sherri Kravec. We have 3 boys who are growing up way too quickly. We bought this rental in 2005 after visiting family in Eagle. We fell in love with Colorado. We moved to Colorado in 2010 (from Ohio) with a work opportunity. We currently live in Fort Collins. We feel so blessed to live full time in an area where others choose as a vacation.

Sherri Kravec purchased this condo in 2005

Why Sherri Kravec chose Copper Mountain

We chose to buy a vacation rental at Copper Mountain because of the quaint, family friendly pedestrian village. The ski mountain is naturally divided with runs available for all ski levels. When we started, the boys had to learn to ski - now we cannot keep up with them. With so much terrain, we can always find an uncrowded run. Truly the ski-in/ski-out location was the selling point. To us, ski-in/out does not mean walking to the lift, it means skiing to the lift. We love it.

What makes this condo unique

Copper Mountain is more than just a great ski hill. We love the diversity of the seasons here at Copper. The skiing is great in the winter, but there is so much to do in the summer - we like to hike, bike, and fish. The spring is beautiful with all the snow melt and run off - waterfalls are everywhere. The Aspens are beautiful in the fall. Be sure to go outside on a clear night to look at the stars. They are amazing! Copper is a great place to visit any time of the year.

Pricey but worth it

  • 5 of 5

Pricey but worth it. If you're a beginner skier or border, to get to the green slopes you must walk 100 yards, get on and off the bus , with all your equipment. ( I struggled a bit with this). There are lockers available at the West End for $10 a day to store everything except your skis or board.

Owner's Response: I'm so sorry you struggled getting to the bus. A walk through the woods would have been closer to West Village. I wish you would have called me. When you need to get to another part of the village (especially ski school - West Village), call the Copper Free Ride - 970.556.8687. It is a free shuttle system at Copper - they pick you up at your door and take you where you want to go. Having owned at Copper for over 10 years now, we know lots of ins and outs. We encourage our visitors to call with questions.

Great Location! Great communication with owners!

  • 4 of 5

The location is very good if you are skiing; you get out of the building trough a side door, ski down 100feet and you are in the lift. Ski in is also convenient trough a green slope. The apartment is nicely furnished; not high end appliances but perfectly serves the purpose. We had a lot of light bulbs not working; we were offered the option to ask the property managers for help but decided not to. We have rented other properties trough VRBO and generally the owners greet you with a bottle of white wine, or something like that. This was not the case; I know that is not something they are obligated to do, but I think is a good perk and my feeling is that you feel more like you have been invited into someone else's home. The only complaints that we have (which are not attributable to the owners) is the the Copper Mountain Administration decided to shut down all of the lifts at the West side during our stay because it is their last week of operation; I did not see that info when I paid them for the lift tickets. Therefore we had to use only one or two lifts for the green slopes for the kids. Also, the Copper Mountain offered no ski classes during the last week of operation. Therefore we ended up teaching the kids ourselves. We would recommend this property to friends and would rent again in the future.

True Ski in and ski out, great place, The Lodge at Copper

  • 5 of 5

It truly is a ski in and ski out. It is a short walk to the village, and the building is well maintained and the owner we deal with, is great to work with. See you again next year if not sooner.

Overall a great place and a great value

  • 5 of 5

My family of six very much enjoyed staying in Sherri's condo. We had room to spare, the heated garage was great (lots of snow while we were there), and all of the amenities in the condo were great (no wifi password, the fireplace was fun, we even had a croc pot).

The best aspect of the condo is by far its location, not just on the hill but in the building. In the building you literally walk out the condo's front door, past the laundry (which you can't hear at all inside the condo), down six steps, and you're outside. This was huge because our youngest is five and just getting her out the door can be a pain. To get to the Flyer lift, there is some poling involved, but not much. You have to go behind (downhill of) the lift and that slowed us down to the point where we needed to pole a little. That said, all of our kids (including the five year old) handled it just find. The location on the mountain is awesome. We would definitely rent from Sherri again, highly recommend this condo. Just don't rent it when we want to go!
