Regarding the oven, while it is new, it has been used quite a few times, and we were unable to duplicate the smell after you left. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your stay. As for the pine interior, since the log cabin is newly built, the natural wood scent is still present but should mellow out over time. We appreciate your understanding. For access to the river, there is a ladder off the pier that leads directly into the water, and a designated swim area, which is marked on the map in your welcome guide. This area allows for easy walk-in access to the river and is also where the kayaks are launched. These features are highlighted in our pictures as well.
