The ocean views were absolutely stunning! The wood of the house and ivy covering the front made the place super cute! The place was clean and very spacious. We had a group of 11 staying here with two people on air mattress but it was still comfortable. The fully supplied kitchen was helpful to be able to make pizzas for dinner one evening!
Finally sitting to eat our cooked pizzas!
The jacuzzi was an added bonus!

I'll start by saying the property and location of the home are fantastic, and we had a great time, which is what matters most. The owners were very responsive to the minor incidents we contacted them about. Our main issue was in the representation of the home, especially the bedrooms and the layout. We were a party of 10- two families, all adults. I think that makes a difference, as perhaps the home works better for younger families. The kitchen is downstairs- what I call an above-ground, walk-out basement. It opens ground level to the backyard, which is nice to bring food out; however, there are no tables or seating to eat outside, especially for a larger group. The one small wooden picnic table is not sturdy. There are two bedrooms and a full bathroom on this lower level. Unfortunately, due to no A/C and lack of proper ventilation, the bathroom had water stains on the ceiling and what looked like mold growing. This should be addressed as soon as possible before further damage takes place. The main level of the house has an open living room with a gorgeous view. This floor has two very tiny bedrooms, with full-size beds, one of which has a nice deck to the outside. For adults, these rooms are very small. There is another full bath on this floor. The "master" is up a spiral staircase and the bathroom only has a toilet and oversized tub. Unless you want to sit and shower in the tub, you only have 2 full baths. The "window seat" bed should not be listed as a bed.

Excellent get away

Our stay in Friendship this past week was wonderful. The house was the sweetest spot for a low-key retreat with friends and family- peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly located right on the water. We spent our days kayaking, playing frisbee, watching birds and seals from the shore, and soaking in the quiet beauty of the cove. It was the perfect place to gather for puzzles, card games, and easy meals together. The kids had an amazing time exploring the woods and venturing out to Big Rock at low tide. We couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and memorable getaway.

We Love Maine!

This was the first trip to Maine for most of this group, and it’s safe to say we’re all in love. Being on the water was wonderful, and we enjoyed the amazing views as well as the hikes and adventures on the rocks during low tide. The pictures of the house don’t do the woodwork justice, and the grill made mealtimes easy. My only flag - the upstairs bathroom only had a tub and no shower, and with a number of girls in the group with long hair, it required some scheduling of shower time. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Lovely stay in Maine

Our favorite family gatherings all happen in Maine. We arrive from Texas to the cool Maine mornings, spectacular water viewed, and charming jaunts to Camden, Monhegan Island, and more. This charming home provided beautiful views, ample space for our family, and peaceful respite after a day of adventure.

Attentive Hosts

We had a party of 11 and we all enjoyed our time. The hosts are very responsive. The view from the backyard is amazing and the amount of beautiful wildlife is extraordinary. The home has bedrooms on all 3 levels so it let us spread out.

Beautiful & Peaceful Getaway

We were looking to unplug from the world. And we did. The house is situated at the end of a road - at the waters edge. It’s filled with what I call “love” energy. Like your favorite grandmother - it wraps her arms around you the moment you cross the threshold and hugs you. The kitchen had all the tools and equipment we needed for cooking and serving. We used two of the five bedrooms. Beds and linens were great to sleep in. The house was spacious and the furnishings comfortable. Rockland and Camden ME are just up the road. We had a fantastic dinner at Natalie’s located in the Camden Harbor Inn. Our hosts get an A+.

Fall getaway - something for everyone

My family spent several days here and everyone had a wonderful time. We really appreciated having a well stocked kitchen for preparing meals there. And we all soaked in as much of the water view as we could. The fall colors were on great display. Would definitely recommend to anyone and would love an opportunity to come back and stay again.

A Magical Experience!

My bride and I chose New England as a destination for our honeymoon, and we were very fortunate to find this amazing property for our getaway! The house itself is extraordinarily beautiful! The craftsmanship and architectural details throughout the home were truly a sight to behold. The property was spotlessly cleaned and well-equipped for our arrival, and communication with the owner was seamless. Perhaps best of all, the picturesque location was ideal for a very restful and relaxing week. The yard was spacious and inviting, and allowed easy access to the rocks at low tide. We also loved looking out the windows at the bay, particularly at night with the moon reflected on the water. We would love to visit again!

Ideal setting

The setting of this home and the view from it are spectacular. We made the most of the location by taking advantage of kayak rentals, LL Bean archery and skeet shooting lessons and followed the recommendations of the owners for several restaurants and attractions. We weren't disappointed. Unfortunately, our week in the beginning of September proved to be warm and humid and the house is not air conditioned, which made our time inside the home uncomfortable at times. The home came with an extremely comprehensive guest binder which eliminated any guesswork regarding appliances, supplies, activities, toys, games, videos, CDs, etc. The kitchen was extremely well stocked, so you'll want to open cabinets before going grocery shopping. The homeowners were extremely and quickly responsive to any of our questions or concerns and were also extremely pleasant to work with.

Lovely house in a fabulous location

Very comfortable house with most everything we needed.. Wonderful yard. So much fun to walk out to the rocks at low tide and watch them disappear at high tide.

Overall great week!

Beautiful views, right next to the ocean, and great veranda to enjoy the weather, rainy or sunny. Star-gazing patio has especially fantastic views! Luxurious thick towels and top quality bed linens were delightful. Nice to have an induction stove. Nice collection of CDs and DVDs , even though we did not watch the DVDs or TV. Only two comments: -The house is somewhat smaller than we expected. -It would have been good to know that the room with a queen and a twin ended up being the master bedroom. That made a big difference in planning. Overall, a fantastic week! We have stayed in many different houses rented through VRBO over the years, and this has to be the one with the most unusual collection of luxurious amenities!

Responsive Owner

We had a concern, and the owner was gracious and proficient in addressing it. Overall, the place is stunning. The extensive woodwork seemed to have brought in from historic Europe. The house is very well equipped. It could use a spiffing up here and there and the owner is attending personally to the details. The listing shows a twin bed. This bed is actually a double bed air mattress on the top floor on a window ledge [very secure]. Added accuracy here would have helped us in our planning. The owner provides an extensive guide to the house, one of the best we've ever seen. He also sends a complete set of arrival instructions.

Maine - Exactly the Way it Should Be

We are a multi-generational family that vacations in Maine every year (ages 16-84). Don and Vered's home in Friendship was perfect in every way. Beautiful home and spectacular location. Within a quiet neighborhood but feels like your own world. Coastal home with European flair. Easy access to the beach and short walk in the woods. Highlights included coffee and a great book on the covered patio when it rained, the stargazing patio (sun and stars), a Bald Eagle landing in our yard, the morning visits of a Blue Heron, kayaking on smooth waters, being entertained by seals, fresh lobster (out and at home), day trips to Rockland, Vinalhaven, Freeport, Acadia, and Damariscotta, grilling dinners for 11 people on the amazing grill! Communication with Don was phenomenal. Very responsive, welcoming, and helpful. Highly recommend!

Wonderful home, location

We loved our stay to celebrate our parents 50th anniversary! Plenty of space for all, large table for dinner. We could even enjoy the view outside while it rained on the outdoor covered patio. The lawn was perfect for cornhole and other gamesZ we loved the stargazer patio to watch the sunset and lounge with cocktails. Easy beach access to put in kayaks and fishing from the rocks. Wonderful stay!
