Disfruta de un lugar alejado de la ciudad mientras visitas las hermosas montañas de Chiricahua. Este estudio se encuentra en un rancho ganadero en funcionamiento cerca del Monumento Nacional Chiricahua y el Cañón Pinery del Bosque Nacional Coronado, ambos conocidos por sus excelentes oportunidades para observar aves, vida silvestre y senderismo, un paraíso para los fotógrafos.

Relájese con nuestros majestuosos atardeceres, noches oscuras y nuestro ambiente campestre pacífico y tranquilo desde la comodidad de nuestros alojamientos donde los viajes de un día a Ft. El Monumento Nacional Bowie, Bisbee, Douglas, Tombstone, Portal y Willcox son fácilmente accesibles. El área de Willcox también se está convirtiendo en un destino de bodega con 13 salas de degustación en los alrededores.

Disponible para su comodidad: 2 camas queen, sofá cama, aire acondicionado y calefacción central, wifi, cocina americana. Sin embargo, no hay televisión y solo servicio telefónico de emergencia disponible a través de la casa vecina. El servicio de telefonía celular es muy limitado.

The entire stay was fantastic. The guest house was very clean and very well stocked. There is a full kitchen and a fridge that will hold a week's groceries. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The bath and shower were excellent. Sitting on the porch was so enjoyable with deer, turkey and birds to be seen. The ranch was beautiful with miles of road with nature to explore. Janna introduced us to their young cows, Polled Herefords, which was a treat. The Native American and family relics were very interesting. Janna and Jim took very good care of our visit. I highly recommend this VRBO. You will have a wonderful time.

The accomodations were as presented on the website. Everything we needed for a sister weekend to visit the Chiricahua National Monument and seek the sandhill cranes. Hosts were nice and considerate of our stay.

Really nice place. Clean, well stocked with anything you might have forgotten. Everything in the kitchen we needed, beds were comfortable and the grill was propane, which was a plus for me. We saw turkeys, quails and a variety if birds from our porch. Will definitely stay here again when visiting the Chiricahua Mountains.

Excellent rental! They have thought of EVERYTHING from a note that said the last time they filled the ice cube trays to warm winter quilts on the beds to beautiful family history. Thanks for sharing your slice of heaven with us. I will for sure be back with more friends!

Wonderful place and very well organized. Lots of birds using the feeders. Wonderful to meet and talk to Jim about the history. Great display of rocks and artifacts. Perfect location for visiting the Chiricahuas.

Peaceful place. Has everything you need. The bathroom is nice and roomy. Small place that does not feel small. Very clean. Well labeled with information. The remodeling is well done giving a feel of the past but with modern conveniences. Would definitely go back. Next time I will check the lunar calendar when the full moon occurs. It was a beautiful moon, but, nixed the star gazing! Lots of good history on display on the premises. It is an ideal place to stay if going to the Chiricahua Monument.

Janna and Jim are great. We wanted for nothing during our stay. The cabin is clean, well organized and equipped with anything you could want. We love the quiet, the birds and the beautiful night sky.

Staying on the Riggs ranch brought back memories living on a small farm in Washington State. Beautiful country and great hosts. They have alot of great stories to tell. Ranch has over 13 thousand acers. You won't be disapointed.

Super clean and well organized! Plenty of space with nice seating options inside and outside. My plans were for hiking in Chiricahua National Moment so this location was perfect! I don't think you could actually get any closer unless camping in the park and this was so much more comfortable than camping! Thanks to everyone at the ranch.

Superbe endroit très près de chiricahua national monument. Si vous aimez la nature, c est l endroit idéal . C est très calme. Tôt le matin, on entend le cri des coyotes. La nuit, on peut voir des milliers d étoiles. Nous avons vu beaucoup de biches le matin à l entrée du parc. En ce qui concerne l hébergement, très bon lits, très bons équipements, un joli porche où vous pouvez vous assoir . Très bon accueil. En conclusion, une superficie adresse.

This is our third stay. Wonderful family and perfect setting. They have thought of everything and it’s wonderful to just be able to walk out the door and hike in all directions. We were there during some amazing monsoons and loved it. You do need to remember to bring items for meals as it’s far from restaurants and groceries. Stopping for late lunch at Mi Casa in Benson is a perfect way to begin your stay. Did I mention you are almost at the entrance to the Chiricahuas? Amazing national monument.

Fabulous location - one mile from the entrance to Chiricahua National Monument. We hiked during the day and then returned to the relaxing cabin and a much needed shower. Late afternoons were spent on the porch taking in the fabulous views. So fortunate that Jim stopped by and shared with us the history of the homestead and surrounding area. Wonderful experience!

The studio is beautiful, two comfortable beds, fully equiped, the location is perfect to enjoy Chiricagua, only a few miles from the entrance of the park. We loved seeing so many birds around the cabin, it is a beutiful place surrended by nature but with everything you may need. I recommend it and I hope to go back soon!

Stay Here!

The guest suite at the Crossed J Ranch was the ideal place to stay for our Memorial Day weekend getaway to the Chiricahua National Monument and surrounding area. The studio was quite spacious and had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The hosts were wonderful and had the place stocked with a dozen fresh eggs, butter, filtered water, condiments, spices, etc. Staying on a working ranch was a truly delightful and unique experience. We enjoyed learning about the history of the area and seeing a bit of it in the "mini museum" right on the ranch. We also loved watching the birds, wild turkeys, and cows, and stars from the front porch of the guest house. Unless you are camping, you really can't stay any closer to Chiricahua NM as it's just a few minutes drive from the park entrance. If you want to get away from it all and don't mind packing meals for the duration of your stay, I highly recommend staying here. We certainly look forward to returning.

All outstanding, from friendliness of owners to comfort of the house. Turkeys and cows also very hospitable on the working ranch. Historic Riggs family couldn’t have been nicer. Right outside Monument entrance. Highly recommend!Ted and Kelly

Wonderful solo trip to southeast Arizona

I planned a week's solo birding and hiking trip to the Chiricahua Mountains and surrounding area. The Riggs' cabin on the Twisted J Ranch was an absolutely perfect place to stay. The first morning when I opened the curtains, the porch was filled with birds swarming the many feeders the Janna kept filled every day. The cabin was spacious, comfortable, and perfectly equipped, even to the point of a dozen fresh free-range eggs in the refrigerator. The location was utterly quiet and peaceful, and the night skies were filled with stars. Janna, Jim, and Buffy were friendly and helpful, and the best hosts imaginable. I loved my whole experience.

A marvelous stay at the cattle ranch

My husband and I stayed in this charming, well outfitted cottage for three nights in April. Initially we found this VRBO to enable us to hike the Chiricahua Mountains- but we found ourselves loving this place beyond imagining. Anything you might need is here! We were even provided with a dozen eggs to complement our menu during our stay. The bed is exceedingly comfortable. The windows bring in plenty of sunshine. There is plenty to see on the premises; friendly cattle, history to peruse, and the owners couldn't be more hospitable. We found ourselves wishing we had booked for a longer stay. If we return to this region- we will definitely stay here!

The property was exactly as described on the website. Very comfortable, sparkling clean, friendly host, minutes from the entrance to the Chiricahua National Monument. The linens on the beds were outstanding if you’re like clean crisp 100% cotton sheets. We would stay here again and we highly recommend!

Wonderful stay

It’s just 4 miles from the Chiricahua National Monument entrance, so idea if that’s your destination. It’s rustic but very spacious and comfortable, with full bathroom and shower, kitchen, couch & easy rocker chair and 2 queen size beds. Eggs and butter were in the fridge plus coffee, tea, condiments, etc. Jenna the host lives next door and married into the family that mostly found and pushed for the creation of the monument. You’re in an old working ranch with good birding and many interesting historical artifacts. Jenna was full of info and very helpful. Truly and unique and wonderful place to stay.

The family they owned the talcum is very friendly. The reveal was super well stocked, it had even you could want or need. Very quiet and peaceful. Prefect location if you want to visit Chiricahua. It's minutes from the entrance to the national monument! Highly recommend!

Location and Setting A

Loved every moment of our stay on this ranch. Chiricahua National Monument is just a mile away. Cleanliness and comfort of the space couldn't have been better. Saw an impressive variety of birds from the front porch. We forgot a phone charger, and the owner provided one without delay. Thanks to the family for sharing their space.

Janna and her husband have been working on this ranch for over forty years and it has been in the family since 1879. You will be meeting them, and possibly their son and his family who also live on the property.

The property has been in the family for several generations. The studio apartment was built originally as a salt house, but it was later decided to be used as a guest house or 'Little House' as we call it. We want to continue that tradition and give travelers an inside look into our lifestyle.
