Cozy home in a beautiful location

  • 4 of 5

It was a perfect farm house for my husband and 2 little kids, my parents, and me to cool off and relax after visiting Arches and Canyonlands National Park in this hot summer. The place has a rustic farm house feel with clean rooms and kitchen. My kids enjoyed playing in a pool and feeding very friendly goats. We all really enjoyed our stay.

Good place with all necessary amenities for a weekend of mountain biking. Ideal location and loved having access to the pool to cool off in the evenings.

Do not book this property. Everything (furniture and utencils) are out of a thrift shop. there is a total of 8 forks, 10 butter knives and 9 spoons (all mismatched). All kitchen utencils, pots and pans mismatched as well, the lids for the pans don't fit as well. Inside the kitchen cupboards all the pots and pans was unorganized mess.

On our arrival - the refrigerator was leaking at 3 gallons of water on the floor). Refrigerator is from 1980's or 90's. Our food spoiled. Within 8 hours when we turned the oven on to cook pizza, the whole house was smoking with toxic fumes. Took 3 hours to clear the air of the toxic fumes. My young children were coughing the whole day trying to expel these fumes. The internet broke down. No towels for the pool. The pool was closed during a 90 -100 degree weather and when I talked to maintenance - the person says that the pool is freezing. Why did they charge me for a resort fee (about 50 dollars) if I cannot use this only amenity in this so-called resort. There is also a reservation fee for booking this resort (about 50 dollars) that is separate from the HomeAway booking fee of (about 100 dollars).

I called a week before our arrival to ensure if they provide laundry soap, lotion, shampoo etc. The management said yes for all the days were are there. But there were minimal shampoo, conditioner and lotion and no laundry soap. The beds are uncomfortable, the sofa is at least 20 years old and dirty - I put a blanket over it. There were no pillowcases for 5 pillows.

I called management several times and left a message for the manager / head of management (via the people who answered the phone or fixed the fridge and stove) that this is not acceptable. But got no response - no voicemail, no email. This property cost about $300 a night, and we stayed 4 nights. We lost one night (24 hours) to deal with their mess and they should credit us at least one night but that did not happen. Hopefully, the owner might see this review and do something about it.

Our Vacation Nirvana

  • 5 of 5

The Farm House is one of the few places that we have stayed at and have felt peace, beauty, and relaxation. It was wonderful to sit at the kitchen table with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at sunset and watch the snow capped La Salle Mountains transform in the daylight. The goats in the field were also entertaining. We ate our lunch on the front porch in the company of orioles, bunnies, and darting hummingbirds. The Farm House is such a quaint, homey place. It is about a 9 mile drive to Moab, but it was ideal for us to be away from the crowds of people, the noise of the highway, and the lights of the businesses. It was our escape after a busy and fun filled day of hiking, jeeping touring, and rafting the Colorado. What a playground!!!! And what a retreat!!! It was difficult to leave.

We stayed at athe Farmhouse, recently renovated and redecorated. Loved having deer and rabbits at night and goats in the distance in the mornings. Would definitely stay there again!
