My wife and I live in Milwaukee, WI and have been traveling to Mexico and other Caribbean destinations since 1987. In 2010, we started to seriously look into purchasing a property to escape the Wisconsin winters—a few weeks per year. We looked in Panama, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and ultimately in Mexico. We visited Puerto Vallarta in 2007. We stayed at one of our neighbor’s condo in Conchas Chinas and absolutely loved it. After a trip to Puerto Rico in 2014, we became frustrated with not finding a property that had the “old world charm” we desired. So, we started searching in PV based on our memorable experience years ago. Today, we own two properties in PV (A studio in Amapas overlooking Los Muertos Beach; HomeAway Listing #3922382 and a 1 Bedroom freestanding villa next to the iconic church, Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe; VRBO Listing #742876). We have great neighbors at both properties. Located on the shores of Bahia de Banderas, Mexico's largest bay, Puerto Vallarta is an incredible vacation destination. This once small fishing village is now a charming resort area that is the perfect mélange of modern amenities and historic traditions. Picturesque colonial and whitewashed buildings, cobblestone streets, red Spanish tile roofs and secret passageways is what makes Puerto Vallarta so special to us. Others agree…Puerto Vallarta has been voted the friendliest city in the world by Condé Nast Magazine, the best place to retire by The American Association of Retired Persons and the best Mexican Vacation destination by We, personally, selected the area as our second home because it provides a wonderful opportunity for our sons to learn about and immerse themselves in the amazing culture Puerto Vallarta has to offer. The food, language, customs and celebrations continue to provide education and enjoyment each and every time we visit…It is also where, one day, we plan to spend our retirement (sadly, as our boys are young, no time soon…). -Adrian & Jennifer

Pool: Hours are from 8 am to 12 am (midnight). Common area quiet time is in effect from 9 pm to 8 am (please be considerate if using the pool for an evening swim). Smoking: Is not permitted in unit and restricted to the balcony area only.

Great Vacation. I Would love to come back in the future.
The rental has a great view and walking distance from Los Muertos beach and zona romántica. Plenty places to eat and shops to visit. The walks are down hill going into town and uphill coming back home, the excercise is nice and helps you get hungry again to go back down. If You’re a light sleeper I recommend ear plugs for nighttime given a main road crosses near by and trailers make a lot of noise coming by. Overall very enjoyable and I’d be very glad to
Great view but highway noise is very load like it said in the write up.Pictures are true to what you get.We would stay again as we don't mind a lot of stairs and have ear plugs at night.The owner is very honest and tells you all this in the write up.Great stay.
Great Views, Great Grounds, Great Location
We just returned from our second stay in this cute studio condo. It's just the right size for the 2 of us. We love the location, easy walking to town, the grounds are immaculately kept. We love this place and look forward to returning. The owners are fantastic to work with.
The place was great
The view was excellent the unit was cozy and comfy. The road noise was not bad and the location was fairly close to everything you need. The stairs would be a bit much if you had any walking issues. Great parking.
Adrian was extremely helpful and friendly always there for you if you have a need.
I would definitely stay again.
A Gem in the Sun!
This studio, ideally suited for a couple, had amazing views, a great location, and perfect weather - 32 warm days of sun and blue skies, a very comfortable king size bed and excellent hot water pressure for showers, with a large armoire for storage. The kitchenette, while small, had everything we needed. The pool areas were a true oasis, never busy, with lots of chairs and umbrellas... and those amazing views. The warm reception by staff and the ongoing service made our stay very enjoyable.
The walks to the beach (steep) or into town (along busy highway) were challenging at first but helped work off the great food and drinks. We even got used to the noise from the busy highway directly below our balcony, closing the french doors and turning on the fan to sleep.
We liked this condo resort so much that we've booked a 2 bed, 2 bath condo at the same location for next March to share with family and friends! Doug and Jane
noisy, noisy, noisy
What Adrian failed to describe I will now. This property is literally 40 feet from a 'major highway'. Transport trucks gearing down at all hours of the night right outside your veranda, dump trucks, daily garbage trucks, cement trucks, buses, cabs by the dozen all are right outside your front veranda. This property noise runs 24/7. As far as we're concerned the view is lost totally from the noise pollution.
What is not mentioned in this review is that Caroline reached out to us several times regarding her concerns, one being noise, PRIOR to booking her reservation.
Upon her initial request, we specifically counseled her NOT to choose this condo as it is indeed a noisier venue, which is reflected in the very reasonable pricing structure we command. Our response to her concerns about noise via email on 11/13 was: “We do not recommend this property or the "Romantic Zone" in general for guests who are not used to the sounds of city life.”
To our surprise, the next day, she made a reservation. Since she booked after our recommendation that the property was not a good match, we assumed that she was on board with the location. Based on our counsel, and the reviews that are reflected on the booking site, we are not sure where the disconnect remained. We know she read the reviews because it was detailed in her original booking request on 11/10 when Caroline wrote: “We are requesting to stay at your place for 1 week but if we love it, like your reviews say, we may want to stay longer if possible.”
Short of rejecting her booking request, I am not sure what else we could have done…
