About this property

Lakefront 3 Bedroom Cottage On Chain Of Lakes Private Sandy Beach, Pet Friendly

Chain of Lakes Cottage on Townline Lake is a private, clean, charming Lakefront 3 Bedroom Cottage, with private Sandy Beach, 25' Dock, and Gazebo on the deck for enjoying a terrific view of the entire crystal clear, spring-fed "All Sports" lake and channels. A Paddleboat, with a built in cooler, and Row Boat are included. This cottage is in a unique area because you are not confined to just one lake; all 5 lakes have easily accessible channels leading to the other lakes for more variety (Townline Lake, Sand Lake, Icehouse Lake, Boathouse Lake, Haven Lake and Lost Lake).

Townline Lake (Chain of Lakes' deepest lake) is stocked yearly with fish for exceptional fishing - Northern Pike, Perch, Bass, Jumble Bluegill, Bluegill, Catfish, Sun Fish, Pan Fish, Sheephead, and more. Repeat customers visit every year because of the fishing; and have told me that Chain of Lakes offers the best fishing they have ever seen. Several customers have caught 36" Northern Pike off our dock.

Feel free to check out our "Fishing Wall of Fame" located inside the cottage! We would love for you to add to this with pictures from your own fishing trip while staying with us. We love to get special photos of your trip to share with our other guests.

The lakes have a sandy bottom in several areas for Swimming; are great for Boating, Sailing, Waterskiing, Jet Skiing, Tubing, Canoeing, Paddle Boating, Fishing, or just relaxing while watching a variety of wildlife swim by. There is quiet time on all lakes (no wake) from 7:30 pm until 11:00 am; giving fishermen their time to fish. There are steps leading directly into the lake with a safety rail on each side. Few steps with railing for lake entry

The cottage is fully carpeted, sleeps 6 people maximum, has a fully furnished kitchen with snack bar, and 2 separate dining areas; the living room includes fireplace, a dining area, comfortable furniture for relaxing, HD TV with DVD & VCR, and large doorwall leading to the deck for lakefront viewing pleasure.

Please, keep in mind that: Children and babies are counted as a person.

The deck, facing West, has a Gazebo, variety of deck furniture, large picnic table, and 2 charcoal grills. While relaxing on the deck, enjoy a great view of the beach, entire lake, channels, spectacular sunsets, and a beautiful Moon reflecting across Lake. There is a stone fire pit for campfires.

Wooded, undeveloped peninsular along lakes' channels has Bald Eagles, Deer, Turkeys, Loons, Ducks, etc. This area was quoted in the newspaper as being the "most beautiful area in Clare County with 20 lakes in 20 minutes".

The cottage is centrally located for shorter day trips to other parts of Michigan; such as Mt. Pleasant Soar Eagle Casino, Mackinaw City, Mackinaw Bridge, Mackinaw Island, Fort Michilimackinac, Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Traverse City Cherry Festival, shopping in Petoskey, Bronner's Christmas Wonderland (the World's largest Christmas store under one roof), Rogers City Gypsum Mines and the Tourist Center displaying fossils millions of years old, and more.

Let your imagination run wild! I have guests who believe they are in Hawaii when they visit. Every year they put up their twinkling lights on the deck, dress in Hawaiian clothing, play Hawaiian music, relax under the Weeping Willow tree in their hammock while enjoying the tropical breeze and listening to sounds of the wind and water splashing up on the shoreline, while roasting a pig for their evening Lau with their family. Fun and unbelievable!!

Great Mini Vacation Spot!
Perfect little getaway! Michelle was very nice, friendly, communicative, and accommodating. She gave all details prior to arriving, so we felt well prepared for directions and what to bring. Check in was so easy and exactly as she described. The cottage was perfect for our little family of 3, but we really could have had a few more people and it would have been fine! Cottage was clean, plenty of kitchen items, awesome gazebo on the deck overlooking the lake complete with a bonfire pit – this is where we spent most of our stay! We enjoyed the ability to bring our dog with us as he is part of our family too. You will need to bring your own sheets, towels & paper products, but it was not a problem. The area is beautiful too! Plenty to do with shops in the surrounding areas and we even went to the surrounding State Parks for hiking. Beautiful! We will be back!

Comfortable & Cute Cottage right on the lake!
Michelle was a very nice host & friendly. She checked to see if we needed anything. The cottage has cute furniture and plenty of kitchen items. There is a nice gazebo on the deck overlooking the lake with plenty of chairs. The boat access is a house away & we were able to put our fishing boat in the water & kept it tied to the dock in front of the cottage. We took several nice boat rides around the chain of lakes. We enjoyed bringing our dog. You will need to bring your own sheets, towels & paper products, but it was not a problem. There were no issues with neighbor & there is a tall privacy fence.

About the host

My main concern is to have my guests enjoy their vacation at the Chain of Lakes cottage and to give my guests any and all information possible about the area to make their stay as pleasurable as possible. I have been told by numerous guests that I am a "guest-first", customer friendly and very accommodating host. When customers call with questions, I try to help them as much as possible.

I am very fussy about the cleanliness of the cottage before my guests arrive and I have an excellent cleaning lady, who is just as particular. All of my guests have commented as soon as they walk in the cottage how clean everything is.

I welcome ideas, suggestions and comments from my guests, and try to accommodate their requests. Every year we update as much as possible at the cottage, including new purchases to surprise my repeat customers.

I have been hosting this cottage for 20 years, and have many satisfied repeat customers and have made new friendships, as well. I have accumulated several guests books for comments by guests. Some guests share their ideas of places or events they have enjoyed during their stay. They write that they will always remember the quality time they shared with their family creating lasting memories to always treasure. Others have referred to the cottage as "Paradise" and "A Slice of Heaven".
