Come stay at this great NON-SMOKING 6BR/4BA located in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach. Located right across the street from the beach and the Cherry Grove Pier, you will have the vacation of a lifetime! 2000 plus Sq foot Villa located across the street from the ocean with creek views. Pier Watch Villas consists of 2 buildings, one oceanfront and one second row. The second row property has use of the oceanfront pool and amenities. It is a fantastic property with everything you need for a great vacation, including a very attractive price. There are 32 inch flat screen TVs in all bedrooms and a 55 inch flat screen and DVD player in the living room. We have tried to make the villa very comfortable and our guests have told us that they love the unit and enjoyed their stays. We would love to have you as our guest too, and will do all that we can to make sure that your vacation is indeed quite special. All new living and dining room furniture and paint for 2015!

Why The Owner chose North Myrtle Beach

We love Cherry Grove and the slower pace of life that we find everytime we come to the beach. We considered many properties, but we fell in love with Pier Watch and the fact that the property is not a high rise. It is near the fishing pier as well as the boat landing and the creek. The kids like to walk over to the creek and crab and fish for flounder.

Cherry Grove is a family oriented destination with wide sandy beach and room to stretch out. The villa is very comfortable and nicely appointed.

Vacation rental

We rented this condo from the VRBO website but came to find out we gad to deal with a rental agency instead. I use this website because

I want to directly deal with the owners. The agency did not know how the unit was set up or the bed sizes even when I asked several times. The unit was not ready until 530 pm on the day we arrived even though we were told 4pm was the latest check in time. They did apologize but this left us with nowhere to go and 6 tired kids to deal with. There were no blankets in the unit and I had to call the rental agency to get them the next day. There was also no sheets for the sleeper sofa and I had to get those the next day. This unit sleeps 14 but there is not enough seating for that many or even close to that in the living area or dining area. It was superficially clean but there were multiple items under the beds and dirt under the beds and dressers. This was discovered near the end if the week. There were only parking passes for 3 vehicles and we had 4. There were multiple places open all week and after asking twice we got another one. There was a sign on the TV stating the password for internet access and a modem but no internet? The rental company said pier watch had no internet??? Then why was there a password?.. This was inconvenient to us but we dealt with it. The trash container was overfilled all week with trash laying everywhere. The unit has wear on the furniture and needs replaced. We did enjoy our stay but I will not deal with rental companies again and I would advise the owner that it is best to deal with the renter themselves to prevent thus type of thing. When I called on Sunday no one was in the office till late and the answering service kept picking up. My experience has always been better dealing with the owner. Thus is a nice unit but needs a little updating. We liked the two story setup. It allowed privacy. The double beds downstairs were very hard and difficult to be comfortable on. The mattresses need replaced with queen sizes fir comfort.

We rented this condo for 2 weeks. Upon arrival, condo was very dirty. All of the toilets had urine stains when toilet seat was lifted. The kitchen and dining area floors where sandy and when you walked around barefoot your feet became black. The white cereal bowls in cupboard were dirty with puddles of water and some bowls and glasses were not washed at all. I had to wash 2 loads of dishes prior to using any of them. When I vacuumed the dining area and pulled out the chairs...there was dried food and crumbs on the floor. Obviously the floor was cleaned without moving the dining room chairs away from table. I also bought a mop and scrubbed the floor. Amazing....no more black feet. On Wednesday evening my youngest daughter arrived and when they moved into the room....ants and 2 roach were in the bedroom and bathroom. I did make the office aware and on Thursday morning the rooms were sprayed. I also made them aware of the dirty condo and was told I should have called to have housekeeping return. I do not feel it is my responsibility to call....IT should have been clean upon arrival. When we stayed in Surfside beach the past few summers ...we had to wait a few minutes after we arrived to get the keys to the house. We were not allowed to enter until it was inspected by the Realty company to make sure it had been cleaned properly. Obviously Carolina Resorts Realty does not require an inspection. On Saturday evening....my oldest daughter arrived with her family at 10pm. After unpacking and putting the 3 year old and 8 month old baby to bed...we forgot to place the parking tag in the car. By 1 am the car was towed away. Just 3 hours after arriving!!!! When we picked up the car in the morning...my daughter asked why it was towed so quickly. She was told that the Property Management pays him to tow cars. TOO bad the management company spends so much money on towing and very little on garbage removal. There are garbage cans sitting next to the elevators and by Sunday afternoon...they smelled terrible and were covered with flies. I think the Property Management should find a better place for garbage cans or have them emptied every day. But my favorite part was picking up my daughters car....the tow truck driver had a lit cigarette hanging from mouth while he counted the money and signed the receipt....such a professional way to do business. As an RN...my thought was second hand smoke...but as a Social worker...my daughter said..at least he has a job!

Owner's Response: We are very sorry for this guests experience. We strive to create a great travel experience for every guest!! The majority of our guests are very satisfied. Each of our guests receive a check in package that stipulates that if you are dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the rental unit that we will quickly and promptly return housekeeping to the condo. Likewise with anything that needs repair our crews are available 24/7. Our company most certainly users checkers to check units. This unit was inspected and was reportedly clean. We have used this crew of 4 women for 3 years and typically the majority of their comments are positive.... however we do from time to time have to return a crew to re-clean a rental unit and ALL guests are instructed to call if they have ANY problem or need any assistance. This guest did not call til Thursday. Personally if I had checked into a unit that was as dirty as the guests states, I could not have called the rental company immediately to complain... this guest states that they cleaned the missed areas themselves... Certain not our expectation nor our desire. We have been in the rental business for 30 plus years and please the vast majority of our clientele and we VERY much regret when a guest is dissatisfied. As the saying goes we please most of the people most of the time, but obviously not all of the people all of the time. We just wish the guest had called us and let us take care of it. As far as 2 Palmetto bugs (not cockroaches are concerned, these are outside pests like flies that come into doors that are open in a beach environment). They will be seen at the beach. Ants too unfortunately. The property is sprayed monthly and when this guest reported seeing bugs we did call property management and they had someone to come and spray it. As far as the towing of the vehicle it appears as if the management at Pierwatch is serious about its parking. We tell each guest the importance of those permits being hung right away or they risk being towed... We have nothing to do with that nor unfortunately the garbage by the elevator. We are customer service driven to take care of guest complaints or issues, we just regret this guest did not give us the chance!
