Feel your anxieties rustle away like dried leaves in the breeze.
Escape the bustle and noise of everyday at Red Cottage Hideaway. The Skyview cottage was completed and opened in October of 2012. The little red farmhouse cottage peeps out from the folds of the eastern hills of Holmes County, directly in the heart of the worlds largest Amish community. Just 10 minutes from Berlin, Walnutcreek, and Winesburg. Our address says Dundee however we are in holmes county and Dundee is about 15 minutes from here! It is surrounded by stunning scenery amidst every season and is most breathtaking in the Fall. The cottages have wide open skies, at dusk it is a stargazer's paradise!
The cottage sleeps 2 and is equipped with amenities designed to pamper 2 guests for the ultimate evening or weekend away!
Located on a quiet township road.
While the cottage is a lovely country oasis, it is only 10-15 minutes from shopping and dining in Walnut Creek, Winesburg, or Berlin.
Hear the sound of neighboring buggies clip clap down the road and be reminded of the simpler life where there simply is no hurry.
Wrap in a blanket and cuddle with a book next to the toasty fire during gray winter months.
Relax on the deck listening to crickets and watching fireflies rise during the sultry summer twilight.
If you are drawn to the great outdoors, enjoy roasting sticky marshmallows over the fire pit and cook your steaks on the gas grill.
Well kept landscaping surrounds both cottages year round and each offers a private decorative concrete patio with built in fire-pits. Each cottage is stocked with an endless supply of firewood at no cost to you.
The cottage offers plenty of amenities such as onsite massage and special order flower bouquets for that special someone.

This was our second visit to this property (once in summer and once in winter). We’ve stayed various places in the surrounding area over the years and while we’ve enjoyed them all, this is our absolutely favorite- location, coziness, amenities and comfort are second to none. Just far enough out that you have peace and quiet but also a quick easy drive to activities.It will always be our first choice in the future!

So wonderfully clean! The bed was super cozy, everything about the property was wonderful. To top it all off, the host left a Anniversary cake for us in the fridge along with some cinnamon rolls & bread. Totally recommend staying at the cottage.

Familiar with area but first time at this cabin. We will definitely return- very clean, comfortable and private stay. Close enough to Berlin, Sugarcreek etc but off the grid enough to enjoy peace and quiet. Great responsive hosts and wouldn’t change a thing with the cottage!

Great getaway!

We had such a nice stay at Skyview cottage. It was peaceful and cozy, just what we needed after a busy holiday season. I would recommend hiking to Dundee falls and driving the back roads of Holmes county to see the beautiful farms and landscape. Many quaint little towns and plenty of Amish bakeries and restaurants to visit. I would definitely recommend this cottage for couples.

Beautiful countryside cabin

Everything was as great as we expected. The location, gorgeous. The home decor, tasteful and not over done. The cabin overall was very clean and surprisingly spacious. I would definitely recommend it to a friend and plan on going back

Beautiful location for this cottage. Gorgeous sunsets. Peaceful and quiet. The cottage seemed centrally located in Amish Country; close to attractions/shops/restaurants but away from the " main hub". We were able to recharge our souls. Would definitely stay here again ( or in one of the other ones)

The house was nice and enjoyed the quiet community. Enjoyed the porch swing and long walk along the street. The hot tub jets don’t all work but enough did for the two of us.

Peaceful retreat

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was just what we were looking for, welcoming and comfortable. Enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing enjoying sights and sounds of the countryside. Rich was so kind and helpful; helped me unload the car since my husband just had surgery and couldn't lift anything heavy. Would love to return for another stay!

We really liked the cottage, especially the hot tub! Everything was wonderful! Only point of contention was the front deck step was quite high for my wife. There should be middle step.

We love what we do! We built our first cottage at Red Cottage Hideaway from the ground up in 2009. In 2012 we built cottage 2 and are planning to build a 3rd in the fall of 2014. Prior to opening Red Cottage Hideaway, throughout both of our careers, we have both had the pleasure to be involved in customer service. We feel God has prepared us well, and this is why we love what we do! We both grew up 10 minutes from the cottages, directly in the heart of downtown Amish Country. We love it here!

The views here, we promise, are to die for! Tourists travel our back country road, especially in the fall, just see the beautiful countryside!
Wide open skies. Our cottages are both across the road from our house. One is situated at the very top of the hill with a view of Amish Country farmlands and a town that is 5 miles away, and the other cottage is is tucked away by a wooded ravine . We could never leave this property because we love it so much here! This is why we take great pride in its' upkeep and maintenance.
