Great Beach Week

Our family of my wife, adult son, and 8 year old grandson loved our week at the beach. Marcia’s salt box home was one of the best homes we have stayed at for our yearly beach vacations. It was spacious, clean and well stocked. One of the things we really appreciated was the comfortable seating options where we could sit and watch TV, or play games in the evening. Angola By The Bay is a great community. It is gated, quiet, and the people are friendly. The community pool is a big plus as well for days when the weather was iffy and we didn’t want to travel to the beach. Marcia provided 6 rubber pool bracelets with the rental to use the pool. Marcia was a great host and communicated quickly and clearly. Check in was easy, especially with the instructions that were provided. We would be glad to stay here again.

Great Place Convenient Location

The owner responded very promptly and was very nice. The location is very close to both Rehoboth Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park, as well as the historic town of Lewes.

Perfect Space

The "salt box" was the perfect little spot for our family vacation. Close enough to everything but far enough to be away from the chaos of route 1 during the weekend. Very clean and felt like home!

Lovey house and area!

Grew up in the area and having been going back every year I can remember for a week, that being said the salt box is a beautiful home away from home! Everything you could ask for was already there, the community is beautiful and reminds a bit of our beach house in nearby Pot-Nets. I would 100% recommend staying here!

Angola by the Bay

Our stay was super nice. Everything we could have wanted was available. Loved the deck - sat out back a lot. Only downfall was the swimming pool closed due to lack of lifeguards early in the week but we still had a great time. Our hostess was super accommodating.

First timer

This was my first time using a Vrbo-like stay. It was far better than I ever imagined. Quiet and safe neighborhood, everything and then some supplies were there including beach chairs and towels, games and puzzles. I hope to stay here again.

This was our 2nd year staying in this house. The house is a perfect size and set up. The kids stay upstairs and the master is downstairs. The beach is not far. The community is so friendly. The house is stocked with everything you need!

Wonderful Stay

Marcia has a beautiful house and we truly enjoyed our 10-day stay. Communication was great: she called us mid-week to make sure everything was OK. There is no housekeeping service and Marcia has suggestions for cleaning as you leave. I would also suggest as I do; treat it like you own it. You will not be disappointed. Kerry

Fun Fun Fun

We had a great time at Marcia and Tony’s home in Lewes. It was nicer than the pictures show. Our family had plenty of room and we loved the location. Marcia and Tony are very easy to work with. There are mosquitoes being that the house is in the woods. Just make sure you bring bug spray. The neighbors were really friendly and our granddaughter enjoyed meeting them. We would stay there again in a heartbeat! Thank you Marcia and Tony for sharing your home with us.

Nice community

Nice/spacious house with big deck in secluded back yard. Nice to have the ability to do laundry. Gated community is nice and great to walk or bike around (would recommend bikes, could put under deck or lock to a tree) but we sadly did not bring ours. There are walking trails through wooded areas behind houses which will take you to the pool area. Only went to the pool at end of the day for 30 mins once but was fine. Just less people later. My kids enjoyed playing tennis and there is also a basketball court, just bring equipment to play, there are some older racquets at the house. Can walk or bike to marina/bay. About 20 min drive to beach. Saw variety of wildlife walking near Angola Neck Nature preserve which is a 5 min car drive (but could bike there, partially stone road) and biking at Cape Helopen Park which is 20 mins but was very backed up to enter. Take advantage of borrowing bikes there for free up to 2 hours if you don't bring your own, but recommend arriving early or you'll have to wait. Also have an 18 hole frisbee/disc course at Cape Henlopen Park between the Bike Barn area and the beach area (across from the playground/picnic area) which could be fun. We had rain half the week but there are some games and puzzles at the house if you don't bring your own and Midway at the movies/Atlantic theater is fairly close if it's a washout kind of day! Overall, really enjoyed the stay despite the weather and would stay again if in the area.

The Saltbox

We enjoyed our stay, however, hurricane Ian brought lots of rain and we only has two days of sun during our week at the shore. The house is just a short distance away from some very nice restaurants and also just a short drive to Lewes and Rehoboth beaches.

Beach Vacation

The house was so cute and nice. Everything we needed was provided. Our hosts were helpful and wonderful. It had just the right number of beds and the kitchen was fully stocked. We will definitely be staying here again! Super pleased 😀

The Saltbox Beach House

This was our second time staying at the Saltbox Beach House and we enjoyed it as much as before. We appreciate that it is in a gated community and that we can bring our small dog with us. We rode our bikes again since the area is level and went down to check- out the crabbing pier and marina. Since we’re becoming more familiar with the area, we went to Lewes and Rehoboth Beach several times, found a park in nearby Millsboro where we could fish and found new restaurants to try. The house is beautifully decorated and comes with everything you need for a vacation time away from home. The owner is also easy to contact if you have any questions or concerns .

Convenient location..

The house was clean and the neighborhood was quiet when we stayed. The owner was responsive when I contacted her and the house was well supplied with all necessities. I recommend this property and would definitely stay here again.

Salt box house, Lewes, Delaware

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property! It was tastefully decorated and felt like home the minute we entered! It was exactly or even better than we expected. My husband and I liked the security of it being in a gated community. The location was great. It was easy to get to Rehoboth Beach, Cape Henlopen and Lewes Beach. The neighborhood was nice. We brought our bikes along and it was easy riding since the area is fairly level. It was easy to communicate with the owner. She left menus of nearby restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses, utensils as well as appliances, spices , etc to make our stay enjoyable . We brought our small dog along with no problems. We would definitely stay here again!!

A much needed escape

The house was perfect! When we arrived the house was clean and just as described! The location allowed for the perfect time. I don't believe we had even one day where we weren't out and about exploring the beach or hitting the shops, we even got to experience sunfest for the 1st time. And when we weren't out we were walking our two dog and enjoying the quiet beautiful neighborhood.
