The hosts are super friendly. Jan greeted me when we arrived and showed us everything. The location is great, the view is super nice. We have everything we needed in the apartment. Definitely will stay here again if we visit Black Mountain.

We loved the view so much. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hot tub was a great plus. We also grilled out twice and ventured out for some hikes. Would recommend Catawba Falls hiking trail. Black Mountain is also an adorable town and everyone we met was so friendly. Jan was great too. Very accommodating! Thanks again Jan!

From the very first time we texted I felt like we were a priority to them. We were welcomed as we pulled up and was shown all the amenities. This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful stays, relaxing and CLEAN, VERY CLEAN. From the hot tub to the appliances and bed. Jan was very helpful with suggestions for food and fun adventures. We loved everything, gas fireplace on back porch was awesome at night. I even saw my first bear in the wild. We felt very blessed for this rest . Thank you Jan and Dave.

Beautiful scenery. We even had a visiting cub every day and night. So sweet! Clean and quiet space. Hot tub under the stars was great. We had a great, quiet, and relaxing trip.

Great place for a quick weekend getaway

This apartment was perfect for a quick weekend getaway with a beautiful view of the lake and a hot tub. We enjoyed being in a quiet remote location but also be close to Biltmore and Asheville.

A week near Asheville

The place is great. A deck overlooking a valley and seeing the nearby mountains. A hot tub and plenty of space in the unit. Jan and Dave are both very friendly and great hosts.

Jan was very kind and helpful and communicated very well. There was a massive misunderstanding about the house occupancy and we did not stay because we required different accommodation. Jan helped us find a last minute alternative and provided excellent advice.

Relaxing Mountain Home

Well furnished home with absolutely gorgeous views! Great area for mountain walks. With minimal traffic. Enjoyed the town of Black Mountain; quaint shops and good restaurants. Hosts are very accomadating and friendly.Highly recommend!

West North Carolina Mountain Stay

We had a great time at the Mt. Admirals Retreat. There were beautiful views and a lot of peace and quiet. It was great to meet the hosts, they provided all we could need and ask for. The only problem was that we couldn’t stay longer.

Lovely Stay with Stunning Views

We loved our stay with Jan. The apartment was so clean and welcoming with a large private patio overlooking an incredible view. Great place for a rainy or sunny day of which we had both. Jan was an amazing hostess and treated us to dinner our last night which was most appreciated. Be aware the drive into the driveway is steep, but worth it!

Relaxing retreat to reconnect

We loved everything about our stay at Mt.Admiral’s retreat! The home is very clean, kitchen is fully stocked, and the view is spectacular. Black Mountain is a quaint mountain town with great coffee and restaurants, shopping, and hiking nearby. This was the perfect retreat to reconnect while playing games, reading, and chatting by the porch fire pit or in the hot tub. The hosts are friendly, knowledgeable about the area, and helpful. We hope to return soon!

Even Better In Person

Our stay at Mt Admiral's Retreat was fantastic; the space was just as advertised and the hosts have done some simple but delightful things like having lots of lights on dimmers and having all the bulbs the same warm color temperature - things that many may not notice but contribute to a romantic getaway for the weekend. We enjoyed our stay and we encourage you to book yours today.

Our gated community of Laurel Ridge is North Carolina's best kept secret ! We are 17 miles of beautiful Mountain roads . Right behind our community is the Blue Ridge Parkway. The views of the Mountains and Lake at our 4,000FT elevation is breath taking ! Many of our neighbors including myself hike our roads daily . Biking is big in our community . A few miles away is Black Mountain town and City Golf Course !!!!
We chose Laurel Ridge because we are less than 20mins. to Asheville and 12mins to The Biltmore Mansion.

Mt. Admirals Retreat has one of the best views in this area . Our truly unique wildlife experience here is priceless . If you are a bird enthusiast this is a "birds eye view" from your deck ! While we do not engage our Bears we do name them and their Cubs !
