This house features a newly remodeled bedroom on the main floor, updated appliances in the kitchen, and new furnishings throughout. The open floor plan provides ample space for reconnecting with family and friends. The fireplace in the living room is surrounded by plenty of comfortable seating while the downstairs family room features air hockey and large flat screen TV. The yard is complete with a sunken patio garden, horseshoe pits, and a hammock - perfect for a day of relaxing. The home lies in a wonderful setting where summer guests can hike, bike, hunt, or fish in the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area and Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge. Winter guests can enjoy the downhill skiing at Timberline and Canaan Resort or cross country skiing and snowshoeing at White Grass. When nighttime rolls around, whether it’s been a day on the slopes, a day in the wilderness, or a day on the couch, everyone will love gathering around the warmth of the outdoor chiminea or soaking in the large hot tub - all the while keeping an eye to the sky for that first wonderful twinkle that signals the beginning of another Starry Night. This home is protected with an outside security camera. Winter access will require 4 or all-wheel drive vehicles with appropriate tires.

The new hot tub is a wonderful upgrade and we enjoyed every evening! Our favorite spot to relax was in the Sitting Room in front of a nice fire every evening. Kitchen is well-appointed and had most everything we needed. The TV room furniture is a little hard to get up out of if you have 60-ish knees like me but soaking in the hot tub helped tremendously! As always, the gals at Best of Canaan were wonderful and we always recommend them!

A Perfect White Christmas

We had the perfect white Christmas here. We loved how spacious and cozy it was. The living room with the fireplace and wall of windows was perfect to watch the snow. We will definitely be back.

Plus, it is easy to get to various attractions.All the windows gave us a view of the beautiful leaves and wildlife. We had time to sit on the deck and relax, watch the wildlife and when it got colder, use the fireplace! The hottub is an extra plus and the desk setup came in handy to complete work for our jobs.The house was one of the cleanest we've stayed at in awhile. We could tell the owners take pride in their house and like to keep things in working order. We look forward to the opportunity of renting this place in the future.

Great place in Canaan area

We really enjoyed staying here this past weekend! The house was great and very close to the Timberline lodge. No major complaints, but if you stay here make sure you bring all the essentials (napkins, paper towels, etc.) as it was the bare minimum provided (it did have toilet paper and bath towels). Master bedroom is a loft bedroom, so if you have a lot of kids that stay up late, you'll hear everything, even from the basement. Plus no window treatments in mater bed, but it wasn't as bad as we thought it might be. Overall it was an excellent stay and we'd go back again for sure.

House was as described and is nicely equipped with just about everything you could possibly need. House is very spacious and has a lovely Sitting Room with a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows in the front. We sat there every evening after dinner and relaxed with a nice fire, watching the deer out front. We absolutely love the Staff at Best of Canaan. They truly feel like family to us and will address any need you may have!

A few things that can improve, the bed in the master near the slider needs a new mattress, it is hard as a rock. Also, please be sure the fire wood is refilled. We went a day with out a fire. Overall the stay was wonderful and we will definitely be back again.

Starry Nights - Week between Christmas and New Years

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Starry Nights house was beautiful, yet very cozy and comfortable. The house was had a great set up and was very well appointed. We did have a couple of issues with the water supply, which turned out to be a furnace issue that could not be resolved during our stay. Best of Canaan did respond immediately to each call and sent maintenance and a furnace repair person, but, the furnace needs to be replaced. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
