Cute cottage, with lots of potential

  • 3 of 5

Nicely decorated cottage in the middle of Onekama. Great potential and photos, but didn't live up to our expectations.

Musty, damp smell to cottage needs to be corrected. No towel bars near back sink or near back shower is correctable oversight. Lack of soap at sinks? Windows to cottage look grey with dirt, almost like they haven't been cleaned in years. Loud pump noise and running water sounds under kitchen sink were frequent during our stay. Lighting is very dark, and very different than listing photos. Overall cleanliness was marginal.

This cottage does have lots of potential and décor is well done. Better lighting, cleanliness, routine accoutrements (soap, for example), and working to limit humidity (musty odor, pump noise and running water sounds might all be connected) would make it a recommended stay.

Just Ok

  • 3 of 5

While the Wine House has a great location, there are several things that need to be worked on. This house has an extremely dark living room. The lamps are very dim, which doesn't help. The couch, for some reason, faces the fireplace, which leaves very little seating around the TV. We weren't in the house very much, but when we were, half our family was sitting on the couch facing the opposite direction. There were only four bath towels in the bathroom. There was no soap at any of the sinks. I had to buy that myself. This house is just like the title says, Just Ok. We've stayed in this house 3 times in the past. We had other family renting other homes in Onekama, which were much more updated and cozy, for the same price.
