Huckleberry Cabin is so clean, comfortable and helped us make special memories as a family. We enjoyed the home so very much, the close hot springs and fresh eggs that were gifted by host. Thank you - Thank you for your care of your home and hosting us. We will be back
Location was close to town and easy to find. We were there for a local wedding. Lots of amenities included that we appreciated. We used the gas grill for making steaks that turned out great!
The cabin was great. Beds were super comfortable. Loft beds were great. Big living space and kitchen. Had everything. The owner responded to my emails quickly and gave great directions. Very clean and updated.
We stayed in this cabin the evening before our family rode the nearby Route of the Hiawatha bike trail. It was a clean, comfortable, quiet, relaxing stay after a long day on the road, and a convenient drive to the trailhead the next morning. The host communicated with us well, and her instructions were easy to follow to find the location. Additionally, we enjoyed our jaunt through the town for huckleberry shakes and to play a round of mini golf. The bathrooms, kitchen, and modern appliances are a nice touch to this otherwise fun, rustic cabin experience. Beautiful location.
When I booked the cabin, 3 girlfriends and I planned to stay 1 night in this cute little cabin, which clearly advertises it sleeps 9. I paid and sent a brief message to Becky introducing myself and asking if early check-in was possible, but did not receive a response. As the trip got closer, 2 additional friends decided to join us, so I again messaged Becky to let her know and asked once more about early check-in. She informed me that there is a 15/guest charge for more than four guests to keep costs down for smaller groups, and immediately sent a payment request. This fee was not originally listed in the description, but should have been. I was under the impression that the listed price for a cabin that sleeps 9, covered up to 9 guests. When I raised this concern, she explained that the price changes if more than 4 guests are entered during checkout. I made the payment and let her know we would no longer need early check-in. She has since updated the listing to clarify this—thank you.The trailer park can feel a bit intimidating to drive through, but the cabin itself was warm, cute, and quiet, and we never felt unsafe. Aside from the miscommunication, our only other issue was that there was no propane for the BBQ grill. We took the tank to the nearby gas station with the aquarium and refilled it for 30. The day after checkout, I messaged Becky to let her know the cabin was great and to request reimbursement for the propane, but I have yet to receive a response.

Just one night was enough
This cabin was interesting to say the least. It was clean and pretty much had all the amenities we needed. Would love to have known the history behind it as it was clearly a hunting cabin at some point. There was a ladder outside that was connected to a strucure which a hunter would hang their game. When we first walked in it smelled pretty musty. Maybe because it was an older log cabin? Fortunately there were A/C units in each room so we were able to open windows and air it out. We had to laugh at the way things were "made to work". It was very rustic in many ways. Like the bedroom bath which instead of installing a a full one piece shower/bathtub stall it had vinyl shower curtains on both sides of tub to protect log wall along with peel and stick vinyl tiles. But hey it works I guess! The bed in the main bedroom was comfortable and the pillows were nice and full. We didn't use the loft but the ladder for it was really steep. It was made from an old attic ladder. The loft itself had some nice matresses on the floor. The couch bed was broken and made a horrible noise everytime you shifted your weight. With that said, we only stayed one night so we just dealt with it.
The location was not ideal. It was behind a not so nice trailer park. It was fully fenced as stated but any intruders would easily be able to climb it. Approximately half of the two acres had grass at least waist high.
cthmain gate entrance. It was on ahgraweof. M

Thank you for your opinions. This cabin was recently purchased by a new owner and is in the process of being updated. I tried the hide-a-bed after reading your review and couldn't find anything wrong with it myself. The neighborhood is a safe and quiet place, we have never had any issues with "intruders". I'm not sure who would be climbing a 6'-7' tall wood privacy fence and now I'm wondering how the next door neighbor cabin residents keep all the intruders out with just a 3' post and rail fence. :-)
