Romantic Downeast Ocean Front Cottage ~ Amazing Views ~Near Quoddy Head Park!

Imagine arriving at a place so breathtaking that your eyes can't help but linger, absorbing its natural magnificence. A place immersed in the heart of one of the largest bird reserves, where flocks of birds gather gracefully by the water's edge. As you drive up to this charming cottage, you immediately recognize its uniqueness—it stands in a class of its own.
Welcome to Sunrise by the Sea. Sunrise is rustic 1900 ocean front cottage that has been recently renovated down to the studs, while keeping it's original charm. You will find spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy, Campobello Island & Quoddy Head State Park. Sunrise is immersed in the South Lubec Sand Flats. This saltwater marsh is on the top 10 birding spots in Maine. High tide you may see flocks flying overhead to nest nearby, while low tide you may see them return to the shoreline. Sunrise is a small space, but can comfortably fit up to 5 + guests. Two bedrooms are shared on upper level of the cottage. The bedrooms overlook the bay and ever changing tides through saltwater marsh. The king bedroom has their own personal upper level deck to enjoy that breath taking view that words or photos can not convey. On a clear sunny day you can see Grand Manon Island 8 nautical miles away as well as spectacular views of the Bay of Fundy, Campobello Island & Quoddy Head State Park.
The other bedroom has 2 full beds with it's own privacy door. The king bedroom does not have a privacy door due to the age of the cottage. The lower level has the bathroom, kitchen and dining/living room. It also includes a spacious lower level deck where meals can be enjoyed while taking in the view. The cottage is equipped with 300 speed internet for video conferencing. Please note: There is no smoking of any kind in the cottage. Thank you.

Guests will have full access to the whole fully appointed cottage, as well as the back yard. Sunrise cottage path is the right of way down to the water. Once down to the water, you will have full access to walk up and down the shore line. If you walk across the sand bar at low tide, take a left, .3 miles you will be able to access a long pebble beach. At high tide, you may have to walk on the road back to your cottage.
There is another right of way path next to Sunrise cottage, please do not use the longer path, that is not on the property. Sunrise cottage path is marked for your convenience.

If you are bring your pet, there are dog bowls and waist bags provided in entry way. Pets are not advised to go to upper level due to the stairwell. Please leash your pet while outside due to eagles and predators. Please use the back lawn and towards the water or meadow path to walk your pet. This beautiful area is shared with neighbors, best keep your pet with you.

The pet fee for a 3 day stay is $150.00 up to 2 dogs under 50 lbs. Beyond 3 days, a charge $10.00 per day per dog may be adjusted in the resolution center due to extra cleaning cost. Pets are not allowed on the beds.

We do ask if you book a pet, please use flea and tick treatment prior to arrival. Maine is known for high Lyme deer ticks disease, best keep your pet protected.
Please give your pet toenails a trim before your visit, it will help protect the pine flooring. Thank you for your understanding!

Please note that the driveway is a right of way path that is shared with the neighbors.
Please do not use the front yard for pet exercise as it crosses into private property boundaries. You may use the back lawn and meadow path. Thank you for your understanding.
