About Margaret Jensen
I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin and love nature. My family moved to California and lived in Los Altos for several years. Missing the country and the wide open spaces we spent a lot of our weekends driving up to the mountains and lakes where we spent a lot of our leisure time enjoying boating, jet skiing, gold panning, fishing, four wheeling, photographing the beauty of the areas and a host of other activities along with the warm and friendly residents.
Margaret Jensen purchased this House in 1989
Why Margaret Jensen chose Vallecito
When we found this property we fell in love with the beauty of the land and the lake. On our first visit we felt like we had come home and made an offer which was accepted and have enjoyed restoring the homes, clearing areas, planting trees, building and making improvements. We love the animals, the beauty and peace that is here and have landscaped and planted vegetation that would attract birds, butterflies, etc. We are conveniently located close to Angels Camp, Murphys & Columbia State Park (a delightful gold mining town that the state has preserved) which have shopping, fun attractions, golfing, live theatre, fine dining, fast food eateries, etc. so everything is nearby and yet we are secluded and enjoy the serene life. We are close to the lake for boating, jet skiing, fishing and gold panning areas. The drive to any of these places is beautiful with majestic mountains, rivers, canyons, caves and lakes. I feel so blessed to live here among the quaint and lovely towns and wonderful people and there is no place I would rather be.
What makes this House unique
The property is conveniently located close to recreation, shopping, entertainment and everything one needs. It is beautiful with a lake and large acreage which offers seclusion as well as walking trails, hiking, fishing, meditation and resting sites, bird watching, history, photography and more. The home has beautiful mature trees, lawn and flowers with porches equipped with tables and chairs to sit and enjoy the scenery, animals and birds. Some sunsets are spectacular and the starlit nights are fabulous. The fields dotted with wild flowers in the spring and beautiful fall colors entice one to get out among them and enjoy the fragrances and beauty.

Cozy Beautiful Getaway!
Came here with my boyfriend and two best friends and had a wonderful time! The house has SO MUCH character and I truly appreciate how tidy it was! Margaret greeted us as soon as we got there and left us delicious cookies! Margaret also helped us plan our day by giving us great advice on things to do! I’d also like to add you don’t even have to leave the property to enjoy the outdoors! Nature everywhere and really cool grinding rocks on the property itself! The WiFi was very spotty but you’re in the mountains- what do you expect?! Only complaint was the water pressure in the back room for the sink and shower was VERY low, but nowhere near enough of a bother to not give this place five stars! The second bathroom had great water pressure! I’d also like to add add how comfortable the bedding and how great it was to have a kitchen with everything needed to cook our meals. Hoping to enjoy another visit soon!
What a joy to hosts this delightful foursome. Thank you for choosing to stay with us.
I will have someone check the water pressure to see what the problem is.
Looking forward to seeing you again and wishing you a very Happy New Year.
Only the living is air conditioned and rooms are burning hot in summer. Pretty old house with very weak Wi-Fi and delegate doors and tables. Which eventually breaks by normal use. Been to so many vacation homes across usa.. This is my least favorite and over priced.
WOW! Comment written in our guests book from Ameen. "Had a nice Stay with Great locality in woods and thanks for the cookies. Ameen & friends."
That describes our experience with this group as the house and yard were thrashed. They broke a beautiful large 1/4" thick, beveled & tempered smoked glass dining room table top which cost over $500.00 to replace, the kitchen faucet handle was broken, drapes and drapery rod had to be restored to their original position, found iron and ironing board on one of the beds, wet towels & rags on the carpet, dirty dishes left, kitchen range was filthy and they didn't pick up after themselves leaving trash around the house.
There is a graveled drive and parking area with a sidewalk leading to the house, however, they drove and parked on the lawn leaving ruts. This is a non smoking house and cigarette butts were found on the deck, side walk and thrown all over on the lawn and in dry grass areas which could have started a fire.
Check out is 11:00 a.m. however, they were not checked out at 12:15 p.m. when the cleaning person was ready to go in so I had to go down to see what the problem was and they asked for more time which we gave them.
With respect to Ameen's comments, I am not sure why someone would write something favorable in the guests book saying they enjoyed their stay and then write the apposite review unless it is to try and justify themselves. There is a large air conditioner in the living room and it was 106 degrees, with nights down in the 60's, when Ameen and his friends were here. Most air conditioners may struggle a little to keep the house cool at that temperature but it definitely keeps it comfortable and there are fans provided also. I am not sure what he means by delegate doors and tables or by very weak Wi-Fi as I have the same internet service and have no problem with it.
The pictures of the house reveal the fact that it is an older home which is part of it's character. It is a country home and as Ameen states in his comment in our guests book they "Had a nice stay with great location in the woods and thanks for the cookies."
Our goal is to provide a very pleasant and comfortable home away from home for our guests.
Everything was neat and clean. We were greeted with a delicious plate of cookies and a warm welcome from Margaret. It's a lovely place , quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed it very much.
Lovely Little Gem in Gold Country...
Hallelujah for Glory Manor! Thank You so much Margaret, for all your Fine Hospitality. You are such a pleasure to deal with, although I'm sorry we didn't actually get to meet. Maybe next time! This house was so perfect for our needs & your Grounds are just beautiful. This place made an awesome Home Base for some Birthday Mirth & local Rockhounding. Also, you have such a Sweet Horse. All we had were Green Apples, which I'm not sure were his favorite, but he sure is a Lover anyway! Thanks again for the Little Slice of Paradise...
We were looking for a quiet place for our family to spend some quiet time together and we certainly found it at Glory Manor. The property is beautiful, especially being able to see the leaves change. It was very quiet and you certainly felt like you were away from it all. The property was clean, neat and looked just like the pictures. The fireplace was a nice touch in the living room. Margaret was very accommodating and easy to work with. The cookies were wonderful and made it feel even more like home. The house is close to Murphys and Moaning Caverns so there are plenty of things to do during the day. Our family was really able to enjoy our time together. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Paul & Dru. So glad to be able to bless your family and upgrade you to our 3 BR, 2 bath to honor and thank your son for his service to our Country. God bless and always keep him safe. It was a joy to meet all of you and hope to see you again sometime.
BEAUTIFUL HIDDEN TREASURE!!
We absolutely loved our stay! The views were breath taking and it was very relaxing. The home is very cute and the owner is very nice and helpful. We HIGHLY recommend taking the long hike to "Natural Bridges" and bring your floatie! It is literally swimming/floating in a cavern - and the best part - IT"S FREE! The historical town of Columbia is also worth seeing. Would definitely stay again! Thanks so much, Tamy, Jason, and Sherell
