Overall stay was nice and conveniently located super close to swimming in Lake Superior and a lot of hiking trails. Only suggestion for improvement I had was maybe making it super clear in listing that this is a split unit with an upstairs unit and downstairs. So if looking for something more secluded then maybe look elsewhere. But the other side to that is this being the perfect place for 2 families/friend groups to book at the same time as there is a staircase that conveniently leads to both units.

Cute and cozy!

Very snug little place - a bit off the path in summer but super close to ski hill for winter. We were looking to be in a quiet area and this was great. Very comfy bed, slept great!

Quaint Place, convenient location

Stayed for the weekend - perfect for the two of us. There are two bedrooms in unit 1, one queen and one bedroom with two bunk beds. Kitchen with stove and microwave and full refrigerator. Small living room area to sit with couch and comfy chair. Outside was nice. Fire pit and an upper deck with gas fire pit. Nice view of the area. Gas grill on site too. Overall clean and cozy. Host was very responsive too. Great for our weeekend.

A Paws-itively Great Stay in da UP

We had a wonderful weekend stay at the Snow Otter Haus while visiting Copper Peak. The cabin was clean, cozy, and clearly well cared for—with fresh exterior paint and charming, simple decor inside. It’s not a luxury stay, but it has plenty of character and comfort. The bed was great, and our kid loved the private bunk beds. One of the best parts was being able to bring our dog—it really made the place feel like home. The vast wooded area gave our pup some space to explore, and we all enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The location was ideal—walkable to Big Powderhorn and just a quick drive to Copper Peak. The keyless entry made check-in super easy, and we loved cozying up by the fireplace in the evenings. Just a note: the unit has an upstairs rental, and while the guests above us were very quiet and respectful, we could still hear them from time to time. So if you’re looking for total silence, this might not be the place—but if you appreciate a good value and don’t mind being gently reminded that other humans exist, it’s a great stay. We’d definitely return for another relaxing, pet-friendly getaway!

This isn't really a whole house stay. There is an upper and a lower unit, each rented separately. The neighbors in the upper unit were noisy though I suspect they weren't actually very loud, just thin floors. The lower unit also does not have AC despite being listed with that feature. It was warm (early July) when we were there, and the basement kept the lower unit fairly cool, but still left us a little less than comfortable. The windows were inoperable - either missing handles or would not turn. Our upstairs neighbors didn't handle trash well and animals got to it, leaving a mess that we felt obligated to clean up. No coffee table/kitchen table. Bathroom very small. Very nice that coffee and some basic cooking items were supplied. All together our stay was fine, but we both felt that it was not worth it for the price we paid.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was everything we expected. Very relaxing and the host could not have been more accommodating.
