Nightwind Condos offer two units both are newly renovated 1 bedroom NON SMOKING condos located at Sapphire Village with a wonderful view of St John, barrier islands and pool view. Sapphire Village offers a restaurant and bar, two swimming pools and laundry facilities. Only 2 minute walk to beautiful Sapphire Beach and Marina. One of the condos has more amenities including , wash/dryer in the unit. Condos sleeps maximum of two. It features a comfortable queen size bedroom as well as a queen size sleep sofa in living room. Fully equipped with A/C, Unit has washer/dryer and dishwasher as well. balcony, 55"flat screen TV, free WIFI, granite counters, coffee maker, toaster, all kitchen ware, linens, towels, beach chairs and snorkel gear. Leave your worries at home and come have some fun in the sun. The other unit is also newly renovated and provides everything you will need at your home away from home. A large screen 60" TV, and WIFI.

What makes this condo unique

There is a restaurant and bar on the property. Only 1/2 mi. to Red Hook for shopping, dining, markets, banking and ferry services. Loacted on Bus route shuttle for only $1 to Red Hook, Tutu and $2 to Charlotte Amalie. Beach, 2 pools, tennis, beach only a 2 minute walk.

So good we came back!

When needing a great place to stay on a budget - I thought immediately of "Condo Nightwind" in Sapphire Village. We stayed previously a few years earlier (2011) so I knew it would be a good choice for me and my friend visiting from San Francisco. The condo had a few renovations like new furniture and a great 55-inch flat screen tv wall mounted. I enjoyed the comfortable bedroom while my friend was on the couch. The closet had plenty of beach chairs and snorkel equipment - we did miss our "noodles" though! You just can't beat the location of this condo. You don't have to have a car - its walkable to the street for the $1 taxi's and walkable to Sapphire beach. Its also very close to the pool which is heaven in the late afternoon. I'd also recommend you do a daytrip on the "Nightwind" which is moored in the marina. The condo is owned by Rick and Cathy who live just upstairs if you need anything. The daysail on the "Nightwind" is the best of them all , and it will take you 2 minutes to walk to the boat from the condo.

This is a comfortable nice place to stay and you cannot beat the price for the week. I have been coming to St.Thomas every year for about 5 years so I know. I've stayed in much more expensive accommodations and was'nt as comfortable and had problems with out of island owners - having A/C problems when the owner lives in New York isn't fun.

Great condo for St. Thomas getaway

My husband visited St. Thomas for Spring Break, and really enjoyed our stay at the Nightwind.

Pros:

-Located in very nice condomenium with nice amenities (beach within walking distance, next to pool and bar & grill)

-Owners came and visited our first night to make sure we were settled and answer any questions

-Condo fully stocked with kitchen supplies for up to 4 people. There is also a collection of dry goods/alcohol/toiletries left over from previous guests. Be sure to take an inventory before you go and purchase anything.

-Only a 5 minute drive to Red Hook (bars and restaurants)

-Condo clean upon arrival (towels smelled fresh)

-Condo also had beach towels, chairs, and snorkel equipment in the storage nook next to the TV

-Great view and ocean breeze from patio (we fell asleep on the patio chairs one afternoon)

Cons:

-None!

The condo came with everything we needed for our vacation, and we would love to return.

Best Rental In Sapphire Village

Before I say anything about the "NightWind", I just want you to know that Sapphire Village is a very nice, well maintained, gated condo complex in a terrific location on the East End of St Thomas, close to the village of Red Hook and shopping and the ferry to St John and the British Virgin Islands. All units have balconies that look North to the sea and other islands, and because it's built on a hillside, almost every unit has a great view. The condos are not luxurious, but are very comfortable and well designed. The prices for a week rental are very reasonable, and represent an excellent value. I don't think you'll go wrong with any unit in Sapphire Village.

Having said that, I'm now going to tell you about the specific condo Nightwind. It's in the second tier of buildings up from the marina, and to my mind in just about the best location in the complex. This is a recently renovated unit (2011), with all tile floors, granite kitchen, and new bathroom. It's fresh and clean, no mildew, and pleasantly furnished. The breezes course through the unit, keeping it cool. It's a corner unit, so nobody walks or talks in front of your door. The pool and restaurant (Sapphire Bar & Grill, check out their website) are just a few steps away, with good food and entertainment on weekends. Some nights we turned in early, and thus closed the windows and turned on the excellent AC unit to give a quiet, restful nights sleep.

The balcony looks out over the sea to Grass Cay, and to the right (east) is St. John. The "Rising Sun" yacht (look it up on the internet) is moored just off shore. And how apropos that was, as the tropical sunrise from the balcony was absolutely stunning, while sipping fresh coffee and sitting on the comfortable deck lounge chairs.

The small marina was just 100 feet down the hill, and from there we took a day trip on a cigarette boat to Virgin Gorda, Marina Cay (don't miss Pusser's oceanside restaurant, it's as Caribbean as it gets), and Jost Van Dyke. HIGHLY recommended. Other days were spent walking into Red Hook, and taking the ferry from there to St John ($6); driving the 20 minutes to Magen's Bay and an absolutely outstanding beach; or driving into "town" to do some serious souvenir shopping. A car was a nice thing to have, as the supermarkets were far enough away that you need a vehicle. A taxi would certainly work, but a car was better for us.

A JEWEL IN THE CARIBBEAN!

We stayed 7 days and there were 3 of us. This condo is immaculate and well-equipped with everything you need. The view from the balcony is wonderful, oceanview. The condo is a corner-unit. Just a short walk down the hill and you are at a very nice pool. It has a small bar with live music in the evening and very good food. Sapphire beach is about a two minute walk, and the marina even shorter for day trips to other islands. We did go on the " Nightwind" with owners Rick and Cathy - it was a highlight of the trip and something you must do before leaving St.Thomas! I really liked having Rick and Cathy upstairs to answer questions, and help us with travel arrangements! If we needed anything, Cathy would run it downstairs for us. My neice and I slept on the couch and were very comfortable. Older Mom was a snorer - so she got the bedroom. If you want to go into Redhook for dinner- the safari shuttles are a short walk up the hill to the street to hop on for a $2 fare. We liked "Fishtails" restaurant and went there twice. We had a car only 1 day of our trip for grocery shopping and checking out the beach next door( Smith bay park, Lindquist beach) and you can get by without one staying here. I highly recommend this condo and will stay here again. Only one word of warning- when you go downhill to the beach- you must walk uphill to get back. My 76 year old Mom had to take it slow and stop to rest periodically. We enjoyed the 40 inch TV on the wall in the living room - in the evenings we watched a DVD of the showtime series "Homeland". The pictures on the website are pretty accurate of what you are getting, but even nicer! "Condo Nightwind" was very much a home away from home! We loved it and will be back if Cathy and Rick will have us!
