We had a wonderful experience at Annâs place for a week. Annâs lovely, we didnât need anything while we were there so our contact was limited but she is very hospitable and available if needed. She even sent a message because we didnât pull into the spot all the way to give us an heads up about deliveries and we were able to pull in more to ensure we were out of the road. We drove in from pretty far and there was a lovely welcome basket with a welcome page. Ann had great instructions that were clear and easy to follow. Annâs place is a great size- had everything we needed in a little cottage, including plenty of books about Acadia, and what a treat to have the fenced in patio, our pup loved laying outside and sunning. We drove and found the kitchen to be well equipped to cook a few nights. Itâs a huge bonus to have a parking spot and the location in bar harbor was absolutely perfect for us, there was a few areas for our dog - 2 parks, the shore path, and bar island path. We were even able to walk to the great meadows loop trail for about a mile which is technically Acadia park. We came to hike, and walk around the shops - Annâs place was perfect for all of these things. A 5 minute drive to Acadia, not having to drive around downtown Bar Harbor - we were able to walk everywhere we needed. Ann also has an excellent selection of books and plenty of open space for our suitcases etc. We had such a lovely time - I canât recommend it enough or Annâs place - thank you Ann!
This is the perfect place to stay to be close to everything. Itâs clean and quiet and perfect for one or two people and their pet! Ann is a lovely host and leaves a nice welcome basket and makes sure the pets are taken care of too with bedding and treats. Thank you for another great stay Ann!
The location is perfect... directly across the street from the Village Green where you catch free buses to all over the National Park and other sites on the island. We drove a rental down from Bangor, parked the car and didn't drive again until return. Places to eat all over the place - some literally right outside the door, most others within just blocks. Unit has a nice little paiio with beautiful flowers and host provded a very nice basket with treats that we appreciated. The unit seemed well kept and we were comfortable there.... no issues. Recommend "This Way" for breakfasts - just 100 ft away. Also, Havanas was excellent (spanish), the Bar Harbor Lobster Pound (took the free bus there and ubered back as a little out of town).. and the Annex (Side Street) for a burger and live music when you've had your fill of lobster. A short walk down in the hill takes you to "Balance Rock" and great view of the harbor... Loved our trip to Bar Harbor and were very happy with staying in this unit.
The property needs some work. Knobs on dressers came off in my hand. I don't think anyone has cooked in the kitchen for decades. The pots and pans were not in good shape. There are lots of tripping hazards in this older property - I brought night lights with me and was glad I did. The location is excellent, but the property is older and not in the best of shape. The owner is very nice and available. The pictures depict the property accurately.
The bungalow is adorable and well-cared for. The proximity to town and the Island Explorers was perfect. Ann is a conscientious and welcoming host! We couldnât have asked for a better experience!
Annâs place is ideal! Right in the heart of Bar Harbor next to the Village Green and all of the best restaurants. It has a bedroom with large closets, and a living / kitchen area that was perfectly comfortable for us and our 2 dogs. Thanks and looking forward to seeing you next summer!
We enjoyed our stay. The space worked well for 2 and it was located within walking distance of all the Bar Harbor amenities. The area was quiet and only minutes from Acadia.
Comfortable, attractively furnished, and well outfitted living room/kitchen with bedroom, a few feet from Bar Harbor's square. We were warm and cozy during to two stormy spring days but were still able to enjoy Acadia walks.sti
We stayed in early October 2024. The place was very clean and tidy, and perfectly suited our needs. The location is perfect, right in downtown Bar Harbor near lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay!
The property is ideally located, right in downtown Bar Harbor with its own parking space-a big plus. It was perfect for my husband and me and a short walk to restaurants, shops and the harbor. The bathroom is a nice size. There is a washer and dryer available right behind the bathroom. The kitchen was adequately equipped. There was plenty of closet space. Overall, a very nice property.
This was the perfect place for oou two dogs, my wife and I. Everything we needed was there and the place was very clean and comfortable. The host Ann goes above and beyond to make it feel like your home away from home. We loved it.
We love this place.. and Ann! Much like our first stay we enjoyed this time just as much. Ann is great and helpful if ever needed. I highly recommend and will return again!
We had a great stay at your property Ann! I loved that you could walk right out your door and it's right in the heart of everything. Thank you for being such a great host and making sure we had everything we needed for our stay. It was our first time here and we loved it so much we will be back in the future.
This was our second year staying at this property and you couldnât find a better location. Right in town and close to everything! Highly recommended!
We were so lucky to snag a week to stay here again. The location is perfect = on the village green, just steps from the free buses and the best smoothie restaurant and even closer to Cafe This Way. But the location is quiet and the bedroom in the back of the apartment, so we heard nothing at night. The laundry allowed us to pack lightly, and with a full kitchen, we only ate out once daily. The welcome basket was a warm, lovely addition to nourish us after a long drive to Maine. Highly recommend!!
After living in NYC for what must have been ever, I finally retired to this amazing place in 2001. And what a good decision that turned out to be. I love living in Bar Harbor year round, hiking, biking, skiing, going to Reel Pizza across the street for my bi-weekly movie fix, and sometimes I even have one of their delicious pizzas.
When I visited Bar Harbor in l976 the good Doctor Cameron offered me his house and office for sale. He was no longer doctoring and I fell in love with this old rambling, interconnected piece of property. I would come up here from NYC and garden on long weekends and vacations. Planting trees, flowers, bushes. But all too soon it was time to go back to my day job and I had to put everything away for the next time. Which was never soon enough. During these infrequent visits I also started the many renovations I've done to the property. It was a treasure throve of improvement possibilities, work I love. I am the most happy when I can wear my ratty old work clothes and get my hands really dirty.
Within walking distance to everything, yet nicely tucked away from the madding crowd. Not that there's much of a crowd in the winter. Perfect for summer vacations, and that's when you really need your very own parking space and a bit of breathing room to enjoy all that Bar Harbor has to offer.
