Just 100' to beach access. Walk to the ovens, surf fish, or collect shells and sand dollars!

The house is well-appointed with kitchen supplies, linens, and everything else you'll need to enjoy your stay. Walk-in rain shower. Brand-new, full-size washer and dryer for your convenience.

Conveniently located 5 minutes from Acadia National Park's Hulls Cove Visitor's Center and 15 minutes from the center of Bar Harbor.

This home was lovely and a perfect location for all of our activities. The gas fire was delightful in the cool evenings and our dog Chico felt right at home.

Calm, restful spot in Bar Harbor

We enjoyed our stay--the location is quiet but extremely convenient to Acadia, and the house is wonderful. Communication with our hosts was excellent as well. Highly recommend!

Beautiful House with Great Location!

This house was the perfect home away from home! Beautiful view of the sunrise over the water. Just a short drive to town and trailheads. We had a wonderful experience and hope to return again!

Just what we needed, peace and quiet!

We really enjoyed the stay. Camp fires in the evenings, walks on the shore, kayaking and of course, hiking. My son used a record player for the first time! Great place to stay and would recommend to anyone.

Amazing! For my husband and I and Our Furry friends Homer and RubyGreat location close to everything!The hosts are amazing! Responded very quickly to any questions I would say this is the perfect place to relaxAnd reconnect the beauty is all around you!My one and only suggestion the shower might be good to have a couple or at least one hand bar! I had double knee replacement surgery And I felt like I needed to hang on to something But I am. 75 so it could just be a me situation Anyway to the hosts thank you for sharing your beautiful home we loved every moment of it!Mike and Maureen

Cozy and Comfortable

Came to check out Acadia off season - Writer’s Cove was a perfect choice. Comfortable to hang out with a cozy feel throughout the house. Easy to get to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Close to water and a great view of the night sky!

Fantastic Home & Ideal Location

Our family of 4 loved our stay at this home! Close to Bar Harbor and Acadia. You can walk down to the ocean from the house and explore for sea glass and other treasures. Beds were super comfortable and the house is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood. Very easy, quick communication with owner. Best Bar Harbor trip yet!

Wonderful home nestled in Bar Harbor

We had a wonderful time at this home in Bar Harbor for our week long stay! The house is a short drive from downtown and Acadia, which was perfect! It was quiet, well maintained and had everything we needed. Our daughter is 11 months and our dog tagged along too. Both loved the trip! Thanks for sharing it with us!

Fabulous Home and Location

We loved our stay at Writer's Cove and actually spent some time writing while there. The home was clean, cozy, and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. All the amenities necessary for a great relaxing stay were available. The nearby bay water was a beautiful addition to our vacation. Dining on the deck was a great way to spend the evening. Visiting Acadia and downtown Bar Harbor was easy since both are close by. We highly recommend staying at Writer's Cove and will definitely return.

The Pearl

We traveled from Michigan to enjoy the splendor of Acadia and Bar Harbor. The added bonus for us was Writer’s Cove. Our entire family commented multiple times how much we loved this gorgeous home. All of the added amenities, from the games and books to a lobster pot to marshmallow forks were very much appreciated. We traveled to Bar Harbor to experience Acadia. We loved our trip. We all agreed that this home was the pearl of it all.

Great Getaway

We had a great stay. The renovations are very nice and comfortable. The yard could use some work and the ocean view is almost completely obscured by neighbors fence. The deck was lovely though and enjoyed just relaxing on it. We were nervous about the house not having A/C given the heat we had for part of the stay, but it ended up being cool and pleasant at night. Overall a great stay and great house. We would return.

Girls' Trip to Maine

We really enjoyed the house and all the accommodations that were included. From the fire pit to the record player and comfy beds. We did notice a smell as we entered the kitchen but didn't bother us too bad. (Mildew smell?) Thank you for the opportunity to stay at The Writer's Cove. It was perfect for our group of 3.

Nice home

We enjoyed our stay at this property. Very clean and cozy. Loved the record player (with records) and the family games provided and hope they add more. The only downside is, in no part of the owners fault is that there is now construction of a big home with privacy fence going up across the street which blocks the view of the water. I am sure the owners will update the picture of the home since the woods (and water view) across the street are now gone.

Great cottage in a great location!

We loved our stay at “Writer’s Cove” cottage. It was well appointed, clean and in a convenient yet quiet location. Easy access to downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Great morning sunlight and a bit of a view of the water. Nice neighborhood for walking. Excellent communication with the owner - he was very prompt with returning messages. One thing to be aware of is the stairway to the second floor is quite steep and the handrails do not go all the was to the top. We didn’t use the upstairs as it was just my husband and myself. I didn’t have an issue with the stairway, but my husband has some mobility limitations so he didn’t bother checking out the upstairs rooms. Overall a very comfortable stay at a great location. If I head back to Bar Harbor I would definitely stay here again.

Great house but beware if heat is forecasted

House was great, location was great, overall we enjoyed our stay. There was two things though that did sour it a little that I would like to share just so future renters are prepared. On a 95 degree day we discovered there is no air conditioning, not even in the bedrooms. I understand most times Maine doesn’t need air conditioning but other rentals we had stayed in have little units for the bedrooms just in case. We did open the windows and use the provided fans but even then we couldn’t get the overnight temp below 86 which made for a restless night. The other is the ocean views and beach access. the listing and in the house book, it says there is beach access down the road. when you walk down to find it there is only a steep loose rock embankment. We are pretty fit and were able to slowly pick out a way down but back up was more difficult.

Magnifique séjour

La maison est vraiment très très agréable, très ensoleillée, proche de la mer. Très bien entretenue, très belle cuisine aménagée, rien ne manque. Les puzzles, livres , jeux très appréciés. On recommande assurément Phil est très réactif aux messages Merci beaucoup

The perfect mix of modern and cozy. We call it "writer's cove" because it's the perfect place the curl up with a book (or write one!). The house is a peaceful retreat just a few minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
