Rural location was peaceful & relaxing, yet close to everything we were in the area to visit. The house was lovely - clean w/ all the amenities of home. The hosts were very kind & even checked in with us midway through the weekend. Absolutely lovely!
This place is really nice for a couple, one bedroom, one bathroom, one jacuzzi all the perfect size for a couple. We were in town to visit our son at PSU and found the Meandering Mallard for breakfast in Millheim it was very nice and not far. This place is remote, and if you fish it looks to be an excellent spot. We had a great stay. There is an “alternate” half bath just down the path, but we did not use :)
Beautiful house. Inside and out. Very well maintained. Very clean. Had everything we needed. The hot tub was really nice. It was very quiet which was very relaxing. Very close to Penn’s Cave. Highly recommend. It was a really nice get away.
We had a really nice stay! The home was very clean and well-kept, and the property itself was beautiful and enjoyable. Everything was comfortable and well taken care of, which made it easy to relax. The only downsides were that the WiFi connection wasn’t very reliable, and there was some noise from ATVs nearby. Other than that, it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend it.
Perfect size for a weekend get away. Beautifully kept home. We fished the stream right on the property. Very cozy. Close restaurants to try. Enjoyed the peacefulness of the area. Definitely will return.
This cute little house is located right in the woods with a beautiful trout stream. We sat in the hot tub and watched all the wildlife come to the river. Beautiful place to get away.
Excellent place to stay and probably one of my favorite properties that we have ever stayed at. Very quiet but also close enough to State College and Bellafonte that the location is convenient. The cabin is fairly new and very clean. Someone took the time to put fresh flowers in two places in the cabin. There is a nice little Amish farm right up the road that serves lunch and has homemade ice cream on Saturdays. Lots of good restaurants within 15-20 minutes. For breakfast, go to the diner in Boalsburg!
Very nice property, exceptionally clean and very quiet. Only drawback is at 70 years old, a bathroom on the second floor would have been a plus. We did speak with the property owner and he stated that stream improvement work will be done in the near future and this work should only improve the fishing. Other great fishing less than twenty minutes away any direction.
We stayed at the property during Parents’ Weekend at Penn State University. The property was clean, comfortable, and just a 20 minute drive from campus. It was perfect.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Hope to host you again in the future!
Such a beautiful property! We stayed 3 nights while our teenager was at Woodward Camp about 20 mins away. Despite being situated at an intersection, the house sits back enough with a nice partially fenced front yard. Not too much traffic. Our Standard Poodle enjoyed rolling and romping there and in the mowed field near the creek. Everything was well stocked (laundry supplies, TP, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, disposable plates, cups, silverware, a few pieces of firewood, etc.) But only one skillet and pot for cooking. We would have used the grill, but the propane was empty… we enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub in the peaceful quiet nights. Highly recommend!
Over all a good stay. Nice location, clean, beds hard , but for 2 days it worked. Only real issue was the listing had a $50 fee for a pet. Ended up receiving 2 $50 fees. Which was/is confusing.
We loved the location and natural beauty and were genuinely happy. We enjoyed the quiet! The bed is really hard so
Would recommend you bring a topper if you require softer mattress. Honestly that is my only complaint as I have a spinal condition and couldn’t sleep. Otherwise it is com
My wife and I stayed here for our son’s graduation from Penn State. The drive is only 30 minutes to campus and was affordable compared to the prices the hotel chains were charging. The positives:- Would stay here again even with the negatives outlined below- Very quiet- Property is owned by Amish and kept very clean- All the amenities you’ll need for a short or long stay- Plenty of space for a couple, family, or a few friends- Felt safe- Property Manager was helpful trying to find the place and figure out the WiFi - Soft towels and the bathroom soaps were greatThe negatives:- GPS took us to a different location about 1/2 mile down the road. Fortunately we found it, but was hard to find in the dark- No mobile phone service and the WiFi was not working the entire time even after hours of troubleshooting. Since the WiFi was down, we were not able to watch TV. You could make calls, but you had to be outside about 10 feet from the front door - Need instructions for using the WiFi - Very squeaky bedroom door which woke up my wife in the morning - Need additional, large pillows for the bed- Need to reset all the clocks in the house when to power goes out- Water pulses a bit in the shower, but plenty of water pressure Advice:- Screen shot or write down the code to get in ahead of time as you will not be able to load any applications on your phone- Bring board games or a book to read - Bring air mattresses if friends are joining you or for the kids
