Great home. I will stay there again!!
Very nice home, everything thing you need is already there
Nice stay. It's a old home well maintained. If you appreciate the Amish scenery, this place is for you. The home owners are very nice. Hershey's park only 30 minutes.
Clean and convenient to all activities we needed to do in the Lancaster area. The owner was informative on all details of use of the home. Air conditioning cooled the house quickly on the hot days we were there. It was perfect for us. We even cooked a really nice meal one evening and had everything we needed. Thank you. We recommend staying and would stay there again.

A good stay.
House was very clean and uniquely furnished. The main problems were part of our group or handicap and we had trouble entering on the front porch where there is a railing. The Front door would not open easily so one of us had to go in the back door. We had trouble getting up the steps on the back door because there is no railing to hang on to. Also it might be a plus to turn down the hot water tank. The water was extremely hot. We did enjoy our stay in Pennsylvania. It was beautiful weather basically and the flowers And gardens were beautiful.

Tana, thank you for staying with us. We are sorry you didn't enjoy your visit.
- We're sorry that your group had accessibility issues at our home. The entrance is on the side of the house which is where the lock box is. There are concrete stairs and no railing. We made sure to let them know that was the entrance. We stated that the front door was not to be used for entering and exiting but could be used if necessary. The door to the front porch has a key that is accessed from the inside of the house. It's an old house and it is a secure bolt that locks the door, but the key is kept in the lock and there is no problem opening the door.
- We spoke with Sherry before her stay she mentioned that it was a girls trip and said that most were over the age of 70. We then asked if anyone would have problems with the stairs as we have a good amount of them in our home. She said absolutely not as all were in good health. Had she told me there were handicapped individuals involved, I would have suggested that they find another property. Unfortunately our house is much older and not equipped for handicapped and isn't listed as such.
- We're sorry you had issues with the temperature of the hot water. The water is heated by the furnace which is set by the oil company. The amount of hot water is controlled at the faucets by the combination of hot and cold water desired. We scheduled our annual service for the furnace for this month. We will ask that the technician lower the water heat if possible.
We appreciate your feedback as it shows us the areas that need improvement.

Comfortable but location is misleading...
The house is quaint and has all that you need for a short stay. The house is located near many good restaurants and attractions, and we enjoyed short trips out for meals and shopping. Our main complaint is that the pictures make the house appear to be rurally located with lots of green space around it. However, the house is located directly on a major thoroughfare, with very loud traffic, which was especially problematic when trying to sleep. While there is a large backyard, there is no outdoor seating area or way to enjoy the outdoors. The front porch is useless because it is only feet away from the noisy road. Would have been nice to have a patio or porch to enjoy the perfect weather we had!

Thank you for your feedback, Suellen. We're glad you enjoyed the house’s amenities and the convenient location near local restaurants and attractions. To clarify, we strive to be transparent about the property, and the photos provided on the listing were professionally taken by Evolve to highlight the home’s features. However, we understand that perspectives may vary. For those with questions, we encourage you to revisit the listing photos, which accurately display the calm two-lane street, the spacious front yard, and the decked porch area. The home sits comfortably away from the road, with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.Regarding your comment about outdoor noise, we typically receive positive feedback about the peacefulness of the area, especially during this beautiful time of year. This section of Lancaster does have a bit of traffic. However, most guests find the front porch and outdoor areas a great place to relax and catch up. Occasional sounds from local traffic or passing buggies are part of the area’s charm. We understand that experiences can vary, but we’ve personally spent time here and found the environment to be quite tranquil.Thank you again for your input. We take all feedback seriously and will continue working to ensure our guests have enjoyable stays. We appreciate your time and wish you the best on your future travels.

Not as shown
The picture of the house on VRBO is nothing like what the outside of the house looks like. The picture indicates it has a huge front and side yards but that is NOT true. This house is so close to the main road we all had difficulty sleeping. It is not quiet at all. The inside of the house is very nice. Beautiful woodwork but very slippery steps. One of our group slipped on the steps. Not good. I had to clean the top shelf of the fridge because someone spilled something. And didn’t clean it up. The picture of this house really needs updated because it does not look anything like what is shown onBRBO

Cindy, we want all of our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we're sorry that you experienced some issues during your trip.
- We are working with Evolve who took the photos to see if we can have new photos done for the listing, they are not inaccurate but were taken with a special lens. This will be taken care of so that potential guests do not feel the photos were misleading. There is a considerable amount of yard in the front and side, as well as a very large backyard
- We are not too far away from the road and there is traffic, you can hear trucks as well as horses and buggies going by at various times throughout the day, we have no control over the traffic, we're sorry for the inconvenience
- The steps are the same material as the hardwood flooring, and we provide a sturdy handrail on the stairs, we have not had any issues with slipping on the stairs
- We spoke to the housekeeper and she has been instructed that emptying the fridge and cleaning it will be done between each booking, she assured me this has been done
- I keep in contact with all our guests so that if you have issues we can have them resolved immediately, we did not hear from you about any of these. We wish you had reached out so that we could have made this a 5-star visit
We truly go above and beyond for our guests and are confident that future guests will have excellent stays! We will continue to deliver the 5-star experiences we know we can deliver.
We had a wonderful time staying at this property! The house was very charming and so comfortable for my mother and I and my two nephews and we had a cozy Thanksgiving celebration with them along with their parents and grandfather. We were able to visit some of our old haunts: The Country Gift Shop in White Horse where I used to shop with my grandmother many times. We had a wonderful stay and I'd love to return someday soon! Thank you for opening your house to us to stay!
This house is perfect for a little family getaway - everyone got their own room, the yard was terrific for playing, the local park (half a mile away & visible across the back yard) was fantastic for adults and kids alike. The beds were super comfortable, the linens were great and convenient, the kitchen got the job done, and the variety of spaces inside made for lots of options for everyone. Convenient to good local pizza, diners, small airport, as well as chain stores and tourist attractions.
Spacious dining & living areas downstairs, cozy, attractive bedrooms upstairs. Big covered front porch had no seating or furniture on it. We wanted to sit outside at times (Covid concerns) so had to move furniture to the front porch. It was raining the entire time so porch was the only covered outdoor area. Outdoor space could use improvement. But we really liked and enjoyed the house and would stay there again. 10 minutes from downtown Lancaster and the shops, restaurants, etc... of downtown.

Perfect location in Amish country!
This home is comfortable and has everything you need for a great visit to Amish country.
We looked into a lot of vacation homes before booking this one, and the location of this home is the only one right in the midst of everything you want to see.
The owner, Susan, was fantastic. She was well organized, answered our questions, offered helpful suggestions about things to do in the area, and was a really nice person.
The next time we visit Lancaster, we'll schedule it around Susan's home!
Scott and Rebecca, Hartford, CT
We enjoyed staying in this sweet little house. It was just right for our family. The location was good, convenient to everything. Susan was wonderful, and the house felt like a home.
We had an amazing experience and enjoyed the Amish Country Culture. We visited many farms and also enjoyed Sights and Sound Theater with Esther show. Definitely will do again. Thank you Susan and Verbo and Vacasa.
My birthday twin, our friend and I stayed over our birthday and spent the entire time going to quilt and antique stores and quilting at the dining table. There was enough room for us to set up all three machines.
Susan was a terrific hostess. She was communicative and made the whole process super easy. We're wondering why we haven't been going on a quilting retreat more frequently, and would certainly book here again if we did another.
This was the perfect home to come back to after a fun day in Lancaster. The home was clean and in a great location.. Susan was very informative and friendly. So much nicer than a hotel and would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful weekend. The home had everything you need. The owner is very nice and accommodating.

Nice house but it needs work.
I currently live in Japan and I’m no stranger to AirBnB and vacation rental housing. Me and my family were traveling for a small vacation to the PA renaissance fair during this particular stay. The house was very nice, but is in need of fixing and updating in certain areas and things. The liner to the air conditioner had broken. We called the owner right away and she was very responsive. My brother luckily was able to find duck tape and taped it as much as he could so it would stay on. It had fallen off again, but we just kept doing our best to keep it taped. Unfortunately, the property manager was in Jersey and wouldn’t have been able to come out and really fix it as we were told, so we just did our best to keep it taped together. The tubing needs to be replaced. The house was also dusty and had cobwebs in many places, including the downstairs bathroom.
The book left by the owner was very informative as well as the sticky notes left throughout the house. That was very helpful in understanding how the light switches worked and recommendations for meals.
The one thing that really confused me though was the cleaning fee. The house had a lot of rules that I hadn’t seen before booking. If we had to basically clean up after ourselves, I would have gladly just finished all of the cleaning and kept the $150.00 cleaning fee. I think that’s a bit ridiculous to charge that kind of money for cleaning.
The house is also on a main road which made finding it at night difficult as there was traffic and no street lights on the road. I was traveling with family and we all had a difficult time locating the house at night, even with the porch light left on.
Manager's Response:
Cristina, we're sorry to hear certain aspects of your stay fell short. The property manager was at the property a week before your stay and there were no issues with the AC at that time. The homeowner also visited the home after your stay and we can confirm the AC is in great working condition. It's standard in the vacation rental industry to ask guests to complete simple tasks prior to check-out as this greatly help streamline the cleaning process for the next guests checking in. The cleaning fee covers the deep cleaning that is done by a professional service before each stay. As evident in other reviews, past guests have only had wonderful things to say and regularly have five-star experiences at this home. We are confident future guests will have exceptional stays! Best, the Evolve Team
We couldn’t have asked for a better experience I the home. It was so easy to check in upon arrival and the home was very nice.

Quaint & charming
We visited the area for a friends wedding & decided to stay in a home rather than a hotel so we can feel part of the community. This is the perfect house for just that! Waking up to the sounds of the horse & buggy was quite charming as was the house itself!
