I would start by saying that all of the other reviews are spot on in terms of the spaciousness, design, cleanliness, comfortable beds and the spectacular views from the property. It is a very peaceful oasis and a great central location to take day trips to the important sites of the Valley. If you are looking for a self-catering property to prepare your own dinners, I would not recommend it. It has a very lightly stocked kitchen and missing a number of very basic items, i.e. wine opener. Further there aren't really any reasonably sized supermarkets nearby, and although there are a number of mini-markets, and a central food market, it takes some navigating to find and park. This leaves eating out at restaurants and hiring in catering as the best options. It is possible to walk into town but with the numbers of intimidating stray dogs about, it is not recommended at night although there's plenty of tuk tuks to take which are great fun AND value. Urubamba is a great central location in the valley, but the town itself, when compared to the prettier, more touristy neighbors of Pisac and Ollytaytambo, is somewhat grittier and a working town, but vibrant and we always felt safe. Note that the strict cancellation policy is indeed strict and when we had a couple of dropouts, we were unable to even move our stay to a later date, so do take it seriously. Therefore, there were only two of us, which is why we may have had a little less attention. We requested an early breakfast at 7:15 on our Macchu Pichu date which never arrived and another night we requested a fire which was never made either, although we had texted instructions in Spanish as previously agreed.. All of this said, it is a truly special location and with pre-arranged tours and meals it is the perfect choice for a group, especially if able to combine with the other villa on the property.
