Cute and Cozy Restored Victorian Home in the Heart of Town!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type house

About the property

House, 2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

Recently remodeled, cozy, comfortable furniture and beds. 1/2 block off Harrison Ave. (mainstreet) means an easy walk to dining and shopping! In the morning, head up to City on a Hill coffee shop and get caffeinated for a day of mountain fun! Our large front deck is a great spot to lounge in the sun with a cold beer at the end of a full day, meet people or just watch the world go by. Large back deck has great mountain views, gas bbq, and direct southern exposure. In the winter, walk to dinner or grab a movie in any kind of weather! The house is close enough to downtown resturants that the cold mountain air won't even have time to sink in before you are sitting down to a nice steak! Watch the snow fall from the big picture window in the living room. Make family memories playing games and cooking dinner in our newly remodeled and fully stocked kitchen. We left a few Victorian details, like original stained glass and the one dining room wall that depicts the original wood from 1888 when the house was built! The house once had 4 coal buring stoves~the old chiminies remain, but the house is now heated with trusty forced air! In the remodel, we found old sewing patterns stuffed in the walls for insulation and cigarette boxes hidden up in the bathroom, both of which are on display in the house.

About Jason

Jaycie works as a nurse and Jason a biologist. We moved to Colorado from California to experience the magic of the Rocky mountains and the quality of life that is possible here. We love loading the baby up in her sled and cross country skiing in the winter. In the summer, we love to explore alpine lakes, meadows, and all the historic mining sites. Riding bikes though the aspens or just relaxing on the porch with our friends and neighbors makes summer time here in Leadville hard to beat. .

Jason purchased this house in 2009

Why Jason chose Leadville

We were drawn to Leadville by its unpretentious style, the amazing views in all directions, the rugged beauty and town history, its proximity to world class ski areas, and of course Denver.. We love that our house is IN the mountains...all we have to do is walk out the door and we are surrounded by public lands.

What makes this house unique

We also love the convenience of being based right in town! Our street is quiet, yet we can pop into town without getting in our car in a hot second! We love sleeping on the back deck under the stars and relaxing on the front deck after a full day of outdoor activities. Jason loves the big kitchen sink and granite counter tops, and Jaycie loves the good water pressure in the shower!

Charming little house

  • 4 of 5

Quaint little house in the middle of Leadville town with friendly locals, beautiful views of the Rocky Mountains and ski Cooper near by! Leadville will make you feel like you’re in a Western movie scene. We enjoyed going to the shops & restaurants just steps away from the house!

Rustic and modern at the same time. Great place close to restaurants & shopping.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time staying here while skiing at Copper Mountain ski resort. 20 minute drive on a virtually empty state highway (91) to our favorite ski slopes. We were able to avoid high priced resort lodging costs and stay a short distance away in a quaint Mountain town that is becoming the new Breckenridge or Vail. Thank you Jason! You really took care of us and we will be calling again soon. Highly recommended!!!!

Leadville Snoasis is Lovely

  • 4 of 5

We loved staying at the "Snoasis" in Leadville. The house is very comfortable and it was great fun seeing all the effort that has been made to restore these old miners' cabins. Everywhere we looked were delightful details. The skiing and snow-shoeing were fabulous and we came home to cook in a fully equiped and pleasant kitchen. Thanks!

One minor request--the bathtub is a bit slippery. Would it be possible to put a bath mat in there?

Hope to return soon!
