Why Donald Whitman chose Turtle Rocks

My family has been visiting the Abaco islands for twenty years, and we fell in love with the beautiful waters and friendly people. We love walking on the beach in the early morning and sitting on the deck having a cold drink in the evening! This is one of the very few places where you can have a beach and reefs and a protected area for your boat!

What makes this house unique

It is not very often that one can find a beachfront home with a boat dock. We bought a lot on the canal just a few steps away to make it happen! The dock is on a deep water canal in front of the house and has fresh water and electricity and a fish cleaning station. The beach is behind the house. We are directly across from Guana Cay and Bakers Bay- an easy fifteen minute boat ride, and less than a ten minute ride to Treasure Cay. There are many reefs and rock formations for snorkeling or diving or fishing right off the beach!

Fantastic time at Beach Reach!

  • 5 of 5

This wasn't our first trip to the Abacos but it was our first stay at Beach Reach. We had a wonderful time. The beach front is amazing and the dock across the street was very convenient. It's difficult to find a property with both. There are two bedrooms and a small day bed in the office if you have an extra person. The kitchen is fairly well stocked and it appears tradition is to leave your remaining libations behind (bottles in the pantry, we left the Cuervo and triple sec). It is a remote area, which we liked, but be aware it's about 10-15 minutes to drive to a store / restaurant. Didn't bother us at all. We took food for dinners and ate lunch out while we were boating. Also be aware of the weather if you get a boat. Seas were 5ft and tight when we returned ours to TC and it took a bit a work. All in all it was a great trip. Can't wait to return. Thanks Don!

Great secluded beach house to relax and get away.

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation with adventures each day. We rented a boat from marsh harbor and docked it at the house. We explored the waters around us and took a few fishing charters. The house was very comfortable for us. It is a true get away with very few people around the neighborhood. For more action we went to town. Thanks abaco!

Fun week at Beach Reach!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our week at Beach Reach. The house was very clean and well stocked. The views are beautiful...I loved watching the sunrise every morning. Having the screen room was essential. The little islands were fun to snorkel around and loaded with snapper and lobster...unfortunately it was not lobster season during our stay. We would definitely come back to this house again. It might be time to get a new coffee pot. :) That was the only complaint we had...which is obviously very minor!

Lovely property!

  • 5 of 5

You can't go wrong with this property. The house is north of Marsh Harbor and is about 9 miles from Treasure Cay and is in the community called Leisure Lee. The house has everything that you need - plenty of space, a well-stocked kitchen, gas grill, a screened deck, and the back of the house looks out on the beach and ocean. Lots of shells on the beach every day. There is good snorkeling on the rock formations a short swim from the beach. We had a nice night snorkel one evening and had an encounter with two green sea turtles (make sure each person has an underwater flashlight). We used the kayaks to explore. At low tide, there is a small beach on the large cay out from the beach, if you want to kayak out for a few hours. You will find mangroves around that cay. Make sure to buy groceries in Marsh Harbor before driving to the house. There are some nice places to eat a few miles away such as Touch of Class, but there are limited open hours. This was our first trip to Abaco, so we explored different parts of the island. We drove all the way to the north end where you can take a ferry to Grand Bahama. We took a tour with Reggie Ferguson to the south end of the island to see the Bahama parrot. We had bad weather for two days, but there was plenty to do in the house - board games, puzzles, movies. The internet is good - no problems. This is a great place to stay and if we go back to Abaco, we plan to stay here again!

The Perfect Spot!

  • 5 of 5

What a fabulous get-away spot! The setting is perfect and my husband snorkeled out to the reef & caught a lobster for dinner within an hour - he was hooked! We saw beautiful sunrises from the deck and I even found some sea urchin and conch shells on the beach.

There is absolutely nothing missing at this place - from bicycles to kayacks , tv and books, board games and everything needed for cooking.. It is clean and well kept. The beach in front & canal across the street for rental boat makes it ideal. There are fun places to eat, by car or boat, adding to the fun and variety.

It was definitely one of our favorite spots and we would love to go there again!

Comfortable Private Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two weeks this summer over my birthday and had a great trip. The home is well appointed and well maintained. Ramps to the front porch and back deck make this a very accessible home. This home has the best of both worlds as you have the beach on the back side and a canal dock on the front side to keep your rental boat. This is situated in a private neighborhood between Marsh Harbor and Treasure Cay. Staying here gives you a true feeling of what it would be like to "live" in the islands. This is our 8th year traveling to this area and we definitely plan on returning. I could easily live in this home!
