The Bean Cottages is located in Vilas, NC (less than 5 miles to downtown Boone). Easy access from US Highway 421, fairly flat/straight roads. The cottage has 900 square feet and is perfect for a family or two couples. Updated in July 2024 you will find all the comforts of home with two bedrooms with queen beds, a bath with an updated shower, washer/dryer, full kitchen and a private outdoor area. The yard is mostly fenced in, so no need to leave your fur baby at home.

It was exactly how it looked online and as cute as described. We had a lovely weekend, only 11min from the dorms and a beautiful drive. As an alumni, it was very nice to be back in the mountains.

Comfortable and clean cottage

We loved how well stocked, clean and cozy The Bean Cottage was! We had a hiking weekend in Boone planned, and this house was convenient both to our hikes and also to downtown Boone for a celebratory dinner after a long hike. Will definitely be back!

Great driveway and bathroom. Hot water with great water pressure with 3 people showing. Probably the nicest washer and dryer Iv used in any rental. Central AC was perfect! The pots and pans were well taken care of and definitely the best Iv used in a rental. Super soft beds so if that’s your thing you will love them. Good internet and TV in each room was nice. Beautiful lamps that dim were very cool. Lots of extra things like paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, laundry, shampoo and conditioner, tower fans and more were extra special and nice to have. Even had snacks and water out for us. The only thing was no window covering or blinds in the kitchen over the nice big sliding glass doors. Local eggs next door at Shipley Farm, and they sell beef and give tours which was a relaxing way to spend the morning. Cool creek runs next to the yard as well with an easy way down to the water.
