The marina is on a large tidal creek that opens to a vast expanse of estuaries with some of the best fishing, crabbing, and shrimping on the East Coast.
The beauty of the island has enticed movie makers repeatedly to the Island. Forrest Gump, Jungle Book, and the Prince of Tides were all filmed on Fripp.

About Dave & Wylene Martin
We are Dave & Wylene Martin. We live in Charleston, SC. I am a retired HS coach and administrator and my wife is a retired second grade school teacher. We enjoy golf, working out and being at Fripp. We have two children, and four grandchildren .
Why Dave & Wylene Martin chose Fripp Island
Fripp is a special place. Living in Charleston, we could be at Kiawah, Wild Dunes, etc. However, Fripp is worth the extra hour and a half drive. We especially like the people and the laid back life style Fripp provides.
What makes this House unique
Once we arrive at Fripp, we find it hard to leave the island, even to go shopping. However, we do have to go off the island to Boondocks Restaurant at least once a week. Everything that we ever wanted in our retirement is at Fripp, golf, beach, beautiful surroundings, boating and great bike and walking trails. It is our paradise.

Great house, great location
This is by far the best house for a vacation we have ever been in. Very well appointed. Very clean and has everything you need for a great vacation. Highly recommend this house.
This was a great house for us to rent! Our kids were thrilled to be so close to the beach. They each had their own bedroom apart from ours, so we all got some much needed rest. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, including a crockpot. There was a handmixer for us to use for a little baking. My oldest son was working on a cooking merit badge for an Eagle Scout requirement and he had everything he needed to fix us breakfast one morning and then a shrimp feast that night. My husband looked longingly at the crabtraps outside, but he never got around to it. My youngest son and I loved to hang out together on the breezy, shaded screened in porch. And we all enjoyed eating our meals on the table on that porch. The owners were very sweet people to interact with and extremely responsive to anything we needed. At one point, I mentioned to them that there was an issue with the lights on the golf cart. It wasn't something that we expected to be fixed during our stay, but he had someone out there that afternoon to fix it. Some of the things that we enjoyed during our stay included shopping for fresh shrimp at the Gay Fish Co, eating at Dockside, and the Beaufort Shrimp Festival. The fried shrimp made by Sea Dog Market at the festival was delicious and I don't really care for fried shrimp. We also drove back to Port Royal to take the kids to their first drive in movie. I would definitely consider this home for our next vacation. Thank-you for a fantastic week!

This is a wonderful house, only steps away from beach access, and has wonderful amenities. The owners are great people, very willing to help with advice on places to see and eat, as well as being more than accommodating to work with. This will be the ONLY place we would consider staying in for a vacation to Fripp Island!
We have been doing a girls trip to Fripp for 25 years and have found this house to be perfect for a group. with all the living space everyone was comfortable. The screened in porch provides a quiet refuge for dining, reading, and around relaxing. We did the sports package so had 2 golf carts which we thoroughly enjoyed to see the island. I'd also add you won't find a better price on a house this size, steps from the beach, with all it's amenities. It's perfect for a family or a group of friends. The owners are a delight to work with. I recommend this house highly. Enjoy your next Fripp visit here on Silverside.
Love this house
This was our first year staying at this house, hopefully it won't be our last. House is centrally located and just a VERY short walk to the beach. I've been coming to Fripp for the last 25 years and this house makes you feel like you are staying in a beach house. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and the kitchen of the house was wonderfully stocked. I would definitely recommend adding on the entertainment package even if you only use the 2 golf carts. I LOVE THIS HOUSE!
My family has rented this house for the past 4 years. It is perfectly suited for small children and older teens/20s. Having a full downstairs apartment is key for older kids - to have their own space. The owners are wonderful. They always call to make sure everything is ok and are available by phone at all times. We love the screened in porch for sitting at night. The best thing about this house is how close it is to the beach. It takes no time to walk to the beach, to the ice cream shop, the pool, and shopping. It is so centrally located to everything. We certainly will keep making this our home away from home year after year.
Fripp is 5 1/2 miles to Johnson Creek Tavern, 7 miles to Boondocks, 16 miles to Walmart,. Beaufort is 20 miles and Parris Island is 24 miles from from Fripp
