Chicken Coop Waterfront Cabin on Stocked Pond

Your cozy cabin retreat awaits in Lufkin! This terrific 2-bedroom cabin features a queen bed in the master bedroom and queen bunk beds in the second bedroom. Perfect for a small group of guests. Enjoy the convenience of amenities with a fully stocked kitchen, AC, washer/dryer and high speed internet. This cabin has a charming rustic vibe with a waterfront view right from the living and kitchen areas making it an ideal spot for a relaxing getaway.

This property is located less than 5 miles from Loop 287, which takes you around the city of Lufkin. Downtown Lufkin is less than 10 minutes away. Lake Sam Rayburn, the largest lake located entirely in Texas, is an 8-mile drive on Hwy 103 E.

You can hike or bike along the 50-acre property. Or maybe you prefer to fish! Then try your hand at fishing in one of the 2 large ponds stocked with bass, catfish, crappie or bream. Or just sit and relax and enjoy watching the birds, squirrels and listen to the sounds of nature.

Other amenities on the property:
-Laundromat with 3 washers and 4 dryers located at The Farm RV park
-Shuffleboard Table located inside laundromat
-Playhouse between RV park and Vacation Farmhouse

If you need a place for a larger group, we have the place for you! The Vacation Farmhouse is also available to rent and is located on the same property. This home sleeps 15 people. It has 5 bedrooms/5 bathrooms, sunroom, large living and kitchen area, separate office area, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and waterfall. (Note: Swimming pool and jacuzzi are not heated and is only accessible to renters of the Vacation Farmhouse)

We also have three cabins available for rent if you need more room for your group : The Goat Shack, The Chicken Coop and Hog Heaven. They all have fully stocked kitchens, 2 bedrooms with 1 bathroom, and a deck overlooking one of our large, well-stocked ponds.

The Farm RV is also located on the same property and has 41 RV spaces to rent with full hook-ups. If you need an RV space, you can message me for information on how to reserve a spot.

Whether you stay in one of the cabins, the Vacation Farmhouse or at the RV park, you’re sure to make fantastic memories with a stay at our place!

The host was great and very responsive to any questions.I fished the walk-around pond, but it was quite muddy due to rain earlier in the week, and I didn’t get any bites or see signs of fish. I imagine fishing would be better in the spring or summer.

We absolutely loved the amenities, cleanliness and location of the Chicken Coop. A beautiful covered patio overlooking the pond allowed for an outdoor covered area during the rainy weather. A wonderful place to rest and reset! Full kitchen for those who want to cook or close to restaurants if you don't. My only recommendations would be to provide a bit of information regarding the Internet/TV for the technology challenged people and raise the master BR mattress/box springs off the floor for someone who might struggle with standing from the lower height.Husband and I hope we can return again!

We loved our stay at the chicken coop; this place was a real gem! I think this may have been the cleanest place we have ever stayed... everything was pristine. Sometimes when you rent cabins, it's hit or miss. This was a definite hit. Inside, it looked newer, the furniture was all comfortable, and it was stocked with all the comforts of home. The host epitomizes what we think of when we talk about "southern charm." The fridge was even stocked with a couple of water bottles, and we found ice in the freezer. Just little touches like that made it all the more special. I actually don't think the online pictures of the back porch and pond area do it justice. The porch area is huge- with fans and privacy wood. (which is nice because the 3 cabins are all right next door, but the host did a great job of making each area feel somewhat private) The porch area looks out over a huge pond area. (surrounded by grass) Very tranquil! This would be a great weekend spot for couples or families. The kids (and adults) would love fishing in the pond. We noticed the second room had a huge bunkbed area that kids are sure to enjoy. We also appreciated the timely and helpful communication from the host. We would love to visit again!
