Secluded and quiet for nature lovers.Beautiful sunsets. Ideal for children and water sport activities. Swimming, canoeing, kayaking, surfing, tubing.

Great fishing.

Boat access [ own boat or water taxi service from nearby marina].

Sleeps 8-9 people

2 decks at the cottage [west and east view] and sun deck at water level.

Dock, fire pit, bbq.

Hydro, electrical appliances, dishwasher, toaster owen, micro, tv, dvd,phone.

Included in rent use of 2 kayaks, canoe,rowboat,water tube.

We had a wonderful week at Yara's cottage. The location is ideal: on its own island, with only a few other cottages nearby so you feel very private. There are views out towards pristine Crown land and islands which are part of the provincial park, so lots of unspoilt nature which we enjoyed exploring by canoe. There is good swimming off the dock and various decks with Muskoka chairs for different times of day and for views of the sunset. The cottage is comfortable and had everything we needed to feel at home.

Beautiful Location

Great location for fishing and swimming. Lots of sun and shade. Great views from the property. Water was a great temp for swimming and cooling off. Roomy cottage with all amenities needed for an enjoyable stay.

Fantastic place

Amazing. Absolutely beautiful scenery, great for people that love nature. Lots to do on a water. Not crowded. Only cottage on the island, with beautiful views.

Fully equipped, simple cottage in a fantastic location

This charming cottage has all you need. Fully stocked with all essentials, from kitchen wear to kayaks! The location is amazing, very close to Sans Souci marina, Wreck island and WoodsBay Marina. The cottage is very rustic, and it’s a bit tired, but that being said, all bases are covered! After all, it’s a cottage!! We loved it and we will be back!!

Relaxing summer vacation

Our family of four had a very relaxing vacation in this cute cottage. There was a lot of time spent on the dock soaking up the sun on the adirondack chairs. There is plenty of space and everything you need is in the kitchen. The location is beautiful and away from the main boating channel so quiet. The owner was quick to respond to questions and everything from check in to leaving was simple. If you are looking for a quiet summer spot, this is the place to go.

NOURISHMENT FOR THE SOUL !!! and Great Value for the money!

Visiting "Alcatraz" was a real breath of fresh air ! We arrived via water taxi with James at Woods Bay Marina. He was extremely helpful and very reliable, highly recommend. We settled in immediately and felt the stress of the last few years melt away with the beautiful setting sun. The sheer beauty of the island and area make this an outstanding place to recharge & get back to nature; and Yara's charming cottage had all the amenities required to keep us comfortable. The lovely hilltop breezes and the sound of the lapping water made for tranquil, restful nights under a thick white blanket of stars. We felt very safe, and relished in the privacy, without being too remote. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of lounging areas, decks and especially the dock where we spent most of our time....jumping in and out of the clean warm water, fishing, and floating in their tube. Every time we dropped a line in the water we got a bite! We kept one and enjoyed a lovely fresh pickeral dinner, incorporating herbs from Yara's deck top garden! Exploring the other islands was another highlight of our vacation. The utter magnificence of the landscape is breath-taking! We had our dinghy with us which made it easy to putt or silently paddle around. If you can, check out the nature trail on Moon Island ! All in all we had an amazing and rejuvenating vacation ! Yara is an excellent hostess who is extremely helpful and easy to communicate with. Thank you SO much Yara for sharing your little piece of Heaven with us ! We cannot wait to return, Diane and Mark (the Flying Cloud cottage, Niagara-on-the-Lake)

a remote island cottage dream for relaxing, kajaking and fishing

from woodsbay marina, this island is reachable by 150HP watertaxi in about 15-20min. The island is in a wonderful area, surrounded by few other islands but still secluded to its best. Super for kajaking and fishing. Discover non-developped islands around is fantastic! The cottage is large with all in all 4 seperate sleeping rooms one in each corner. Lots of space. Shower and spacious toilet also inside with a smoothly working flush. The open kitchen is very useful and practical with modern electric cooking stove and large fridge/freezer. There‘s a nice and large backside terrasse we always used for watching the stunning sunsets. There are plenty of very comfortable so-called Muskoka Chairs on all decks. Yara, the host, she is quickly responsive, very friendly and communication is always proper and clear. We loved it very much out there and would go there again without hesitation!
