April 2017

We spent a week at Micole's home and had an amazing stay. The house was wonderful, the pictures don't do it justice. Everything in the house was very comfortable. Micole was a great person to deal with. He was extremely friendly and easy to work with through the rental process as well as when we arrived. Loved being out in rural property where it was quite and you could enjoy the stars at night. I have already recommended it to friends and famly.

Quiet and beautiful

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed this quiet and comfortable space. The back patio is a wonderful space to view wildlife and monsoon storms rolling in. Mr. Matyas is a perfect host who checks in via text and attends to any needs right away. The space is comfortable and private. I highly recommend it!

Retreat in the desert.

  • 4 of 5

The casita was exactly as pictured. Cozy casita surrounded by beautiful desert plants and the sounds of birds and coyotes. Micole is a great host. We enjoyed our month long stay.

Absolutely loved it. Would go back again in a second.

We loved staying at this property. We've been to Tucson three times now and this was by far the best place we've stayed.

The house sits at the back of the owner's property and is surrounded by lovely Tucson desert flora. It's quite a ways from the Micole's house and he's very respectful about coming down.

There's a patio on the back which faces eastward towards the Rincon mountains. Each morning, we'd eat breakfast out there and watch the sunrise. The house itself was very nice and exceptionally clean. Perfect for two people. It has stained concrete floors (red of course) and is decorated appropriately for the desert southwest. The bathrooms are both quite nice and the master bath has a large walk in shower.

Do note that you are bordering Tucson open space. We had a coyote visitor who slept near the back of the house for two nights. It was a pleasure watching him wake up in the morning, stretch and go about his day. We also had Javelinas come by the patio (it is fenced in) while eating dinner. You're really in their environment and if you like wildlife, it's a real treat to be so close to it.

Beautiful and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

This home is just as it is advertised. It's super close to Saguaro National Park. The home is beautiful and clean and the king size bed is super comfortable. The kitchen is perfect and the grapefruits we were left were delicious. We used the charcoal grill to grill steaks as well as relaxed on the porch next to the chiminea. We cooked all of our meals in the spacious kitchen and used the washer and dryer as well. The bathroom is large as is the shower. Having a second bathroom was just an added bonus. All and all a great stay.

Perfect desert retreat

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for something quiet near Saguaro Park East, where we could relax and cook and enjoy the desert. This guest house was perfect - it just "worked". Everything we needed was there - a complete kitchen, relaxing couches, a huge number of closets and storage space, a comfortable bed - spotless and in perfect shape. There's also cable if you want it.

Micole lives on the same property and was born to be a host. He touched base several times to be sure we had what we needed. He brought over some fresh grapefruit from his tree. A light bulb burned out while we were there and Micole was over ASAP to deal with it.

We're already planning out next visit.
