Beautiful View with lots of beds

A group of 8-9 women stayed at your rental and it was such a great fit. We loved the view and that there were lots of beds. The house was bigger than we anticipated which was a nice surprise. The view is so gorgeous and it was very relaxing. Upon arrival there was a note saying that the hot tub had a slow leak and needed to be topped up daily, which was disappointing but manageable. The kitchen was well stocked, except for no dish washing detergent. We enjoyed the large dining table to all sit around to eat and play games. Thank you for the lovely accommodation.

50th Anniversary celebration

Really enjoyed this property. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms, great flexibility with different bed sizes- singles queens and king - comfortable beds. Kitchen was well stocked. Great view!! Lots of space for badminton and ball games. The dock was a real bonus!! Hot tub needs a bit of a cleaning.

Comfortable accommodation but it needs updates and repair. Basement is musty. Railing on deck unsafe and needs repair. Needs non stick frying pans and better knives. Tile or linoleum in master bedroom bathroom would be an improvement. Deck chairs are rusted. Railing around hot tub needs repair. One pump on hot tub not working. Lights on hot tub do not work.

Hopefully a One Off for Future Guests

Home is very spacious. Comfy beds. Missing many essentials unfortunately (salt, sugar, tin foil) clean - but not as clean as all other homes we have rented in the past. Home is showing its age. Did enjoy the wildlife we saw right on the property (rabbits, owl).

Look no further...

This was more than we expected and loved every moment. The view is something we miss every day and the quiet surroundings was amazing. The space was very clean and more than enough room for all of us. We had everything we needed and would highly recommend to anyone looking to rent in Anderson Cove. Lots of great memories for our family.

An amazing time away with lady friends

Our stay in the oceanfront home was perfect, enough space for us all, we were 8 ladies, (supposed to be 9), we had space to eat together, play games together and go for a hike in East Sooke Park. It was absolutely perfect. The house is well stocked with whatever you could need and ample space to relax and hang out to be together. Thank you!

Exceeded our Expectations

our family recently spent 8 nights at this wonderful house while visiting Sooke for our daughters wedding. The house was very spacious and stocked with so many extras. It was everything we needed and more. The hot tub, the views, and a large dock. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding. We would definitely recommend this house.

Great views and spacious house

We really enjoyed staying here. There were 10 of us and we were very comfortable. The house is huge! It might be helpful to know the single bedroom is the only one located on the main floor. Then 2 queen bedrooms and the room with 2 twin beds are all upstairs. The king bedroom is in the basement. The house could definitely use some updating and maintenance, it’s seen better days. But it was clean and comfortable. The yard is amazing, on a hill so not much level space, but wild and beautiful The dock was a great spot to hang out, definitely a bonus. And the fire pit was also a nice bonus. The hot tub has a great view. But it was not up to our standards of cleanliness. It could be that no one had stayed in awhile? As it’s up to the guests to add chemicals etc. But we would definitely return, we really enjoyed this property.

Beautiful

We had a group of 6 friends. This space was spectacular, the house was well staked and the views were amazing. I would highly recommend this place for families or friends gathering. The only issue was the 2 twin beds were very uncomfortable for an adult. But we switched things up and it was okay.

A Wonderful Getaway in a Beautiful Locale

Everything about this property came just as advertised and then some, as it exceeded our expectations. A nice large living space, ample area outside and a well maintained home. The house was well stocked with everything we needed, ample bedding, pillows etc. The BBQ was prepped and ready to go and the Hot Tub was a lovely addition as well. The house is outside the main city area of Sooke, so prepare for a 20+ minute drive to get to groceries and the like. The owners also provide ample info on where nearby things are located that could be of interest. Highly recommended!

It's a lovely house, but there are some safety/security concerns that need to be dealt with.

To start off, the house is lovely and comfortable, the amenities were great and the view was amazing. Despite a huge kitchen, with lots of well stocked cupboards of dishes - there is ZERO pantry space for your food. All of our dried goods sat out on the counter. Just strange! Beds and pillows are comfortable. The master bathroom is carpeted - gross! There are yellow pee stains around the toilet, yuck! Just replace the bathroom flooring, that is so unsanitary!! There were a few things of concern that need to be addressed for safety and security reasons. 1. When we arrived, there was garbage leftover from the previous guests in the trash cans in the garage. A note on the fridge said that garbage would be picked up on Wednesday (we arrived on a Monday), which leaves me to believe that this garbage had been sitting for up to 5 days (and there were still 2 days more until it was picked up) It stank to high heaven of rotting meat!! When the garbage was picked up on Wed, the whole garage still stank - I think the cans need to be sanitized/bleached, and a new garbage pick up system figured out. People should not be dealing with prior guests garbage! 2. There is no ladder on the dock. I have read reviews from a year ago about a broken, and then missing ladder. It's been a year, this needs to be replaced ASAP. We were excited to book a waterfront location, to swim in the ocean and we were not able to because there is no safe and easy way to climb onto the dock from the water. This was a real disappointment. 3. I took a baking sheet out from the oven draw and there was mice droppings on it, and in the oven drawer. I didn't see anything anywhere else in the kitchen....but someone needs to come out and pull the oven out and inspect to see if rodents are getting in. Gross, and unsanitary. 4. There was a black-out one of the nights. ( 10pm - 4am) I remembered seeing a drawer full of lanterns and candles....but only 2 of the 8 lanterns had working batteries!! We scrambled in the dark, with our phone lights to switch out batteries and make more of them work. Eventually took batteries from the tv remotes! This is obviously an oversight, but batteries should be updated. Also, we found out from the BC Hydro website that it was a 6 hour long "planned blackout". Some warning ahead of time would have been nice, as I'm sure the community was made aware of it.

Excellent family holiday get away

Our family of ten - 4 grand kids and 3 couples, found the home to be well equipped with everything we needed (and more) in the kitchen. The bathrooms were also well stocked with lots of great shampoos, body wash and soaps. The hot tubs was enjoyed by all and is a great amenity. The walk up and down the hill to the ocean front dock is bit steep, but provided good exercise for everyone. The views are magnificent with lots of seating on the outside deck. We also enjoyed using the firepit and grassy areas for games as well as basketball for the kids on the large parking apron in front of the garage. The house is well hidden by tall stately trees with wonderful landscaping and fairly well tended. (We would have liked to have had the lawn areas cut as we couldn't play Bocce because the grass was just to long), but that's not a real complaint as it was also quite natural. Julie left us a nice welcoming note and a very clean, well looked after house for our holiday. We would love to return, and likely will get back to Anderson Cove House again for our third visit. Perfectly Peaceful, Spacious and Charming

This vacation property is even better than the photos show! The house is large, roomy, open, and beautiful. The view is gorgeous, and it can be enjoyed from most of the bedrooms and from the large deck that was a pleasure to use. The kitchen is huge and includes everything you could possibly need. The hot tub was wonderfully relaxing and had great views. The property was very, very quiet. The bedrooms were comfortable and beautiful. It was a great location for our two families with small children, because the house has three floors and the noise didn't carry from top to bottom. The foosball table was great fun for the kids and the adults! All in all, we loved staying here and would definitely do so again. Highly recommended.

Great place to stay! With one lil hiccup tho...

Every year my cousins & I get together for a weekend at a different location around the island & this was absolutely a favourite. It’s a liiittle dated but whatever, it was super clean, Lots of room for 9 of us adults, the pillow top beds were like sleeping on clouds, there’s a bidet in the master suite that was a hit hahaha. The hot tub was clean.. you can’t launch a boat from the property but you could bring it there.. the ONLY hiccup was someone went into my car and stole my prescription that I forgot in there which is my fault for not locking my door BUT this is a residential area with a big long driveway so it may have been targeted being a rental so don’t get so excited to be there that you forget to lock your car :(

Great place/ Great Location

The house was very spacious and was perfect for myself and my 5 friends. We had plenty of room, and the kitchen had everything we needed. There were plenty of beds for everyone to have thier own space, but, a couple of beds wore missing some slats and sagged a bit. Some of the jets, and the lights did not work on the hottub but, we still enjoyed it. We were all looking forward to swimming but, there was no ladder on the dock and only 2 of us were able to pull ourselves, with great difficulty, from the water. I would recommend installing a ladder. I would hate to see a child, or even an adult slip and fall in. Overall, the place is very nice and I would rent it again, if the dock had a ladder.

Beautiful setting and house

The house is beautiful. Lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Beautiful deck with barbecue. My only complaint was half the jets in the hot tub didn’t work and there is no ladder on the dock if you jump in for a swim in the ocean. But overall would stay here again.
