About this property
An oceanfront escape with a breathtaking view
Our oceanfront home is perfect for two to three couples or families travelling together. The house is situated on the Strait of Juan de Fuca with panoramic ocean and mountain views from every room. It features three bedrooms (two with private sitting areas), two bathrooms, a separate laundry room, a spacious viewing deck, a hot tub, and high-speed internet connection. All bedrooms are separated from the living areas of the house for maximum privacy and the kitchen is fully equipped and ready for cooking - if you like to barbecue a gas grill is on the deck and ready to use. The living room features comfortable furniture, cozy pillows and bookcases filled with books and magazines, as well as a wooden chest filled with board-games and playing cards. The nautical decorating touches of shells, driftwood and candles give this home a relaxed yet modern ambiance, fit for any vacationer.
From the comfort of this beautiful house, you can enjoy whale watching, fishing from the rocks or simply relaxing to the sound of the ocean waves. The house also offers a stone terrace by the cliff edge with a fire pit and sitting area. The closest access to the beach is just meters from the home via steep, ladder-like stairs. The beach is less accessible in October through April as the rough Pacific weather during this time of year, pushes waves into Juan de Fuca Strait and against the cliffs of our property. This home will give you the best of what Vancouver Island has to offer. It is situated just 7 minutes from the village of Sooke and 45 minutes from Victoria.

The setting is absolutely spectacular. The kitchen was really well stocked and we enjoyed the games and movies and tub and beach. Just wanted more time there! Sincerely hope to be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We would just suggest a drying rack and extra towels, otherwise perfect! The house was well equipped with cooking utensils and appliances, paper products. Beds were very comfortable.
The host was very welcoming and responsive. The view was absolutely stunning. The hot tub with a view was over the top. We all felt spoilt, especially with the super comfy beds. Such a memorable weekend, and only 45 minutes form Victoria! Two nights was not enough.
Lovely place to stay for a weekend away with the family! Beautiful views and spacious, clean home. Some of the highlights were the big hot tub on the deck, the fire pit on the cliff and the fun wooden staircase/ladder to the beach. We had a blast! We saw sea lions, humback whales and lots of birds. It was a great place to relax and celebrate!
The home was very clean, and decorated for Christmas! We loved everything from the big, functional kitchen, to the lounge-y couch by the fireplace, to the comfortable beds and the immaculate hot tub. But the view and the sounds of the ocean waves at night was the main draw.
This may be one of the most beautiful views you can imagine!Wake up, drink your coffee and watch the sunrise/morning is fantastic.Peter is very helpful with infor.ation before we even visit the house, and was very quick in response upon arrival. We had no power in the house (because of a car accident took a powerline pole nearby). Can highly recommend
Beautiful, ever-changing views from every room in the house, fantastic deck with a hot tub, and comfort and amenities throughout. We had a wonderful, peaceful vacation in this beautiful home
This was one of the most incredible places I have ever stayed! The view was amazing! We watched sea lions, dolphins, and even a whale from the patio/living room window. Hope I get back here again someday!

About the host
Hosted by Peter
We both love nature and water. Like the most of people, we are hard working couple, sharing our lives with our kids, love kayaking, dancing, trips to Caribbean, good company of friends, meeting new people and spending relaxing time in our ocean front house. Peter: I spent many years sailing the oceans with my job as a second mate in radio-communication and electronic division. In 1988 I was sailing waters of the Juan de Fuca strait on the way to Vancouver to end my maiden, 135 days voyage. I would never dream that one day, I will be living in Canada in the ocean front house, watching ships going by - just like my vessel did. But here I am! Ewa: I immigrated from Poland long time ago. Through many hardships in life I learned that I need to follow my dreams professionally and personally. I fell in love in natural beauty of British Columbia, especially West Coast. Now I can be so close to it.
Why they chose this property
... because we can hear, see and smell the ocean when we wake up... because always changing panoramic views... because of company of killer whales, dolphins, sea lions and seals, always entertaining otters... because stormy weathers in fall/spring and peaceful sunrises and sunsets in summer... because beautiful stars at night.
