Very nice place to stay, centrally located
This is a quiet, relaxing place to stay in Austin, and Carol made sure we had what we needed during our visit. The bed was quite comfortable, the washer/dryer in the unit were a plus, and the property felt secure. It's located in an unpretentious, older neighborhood, and as others have noted, is convenient to Flight Path Cafe and some good places to eat. The university and downtown are easily accessible by car. My husband and I stayed during an unusually cold spell, but the apartment was warm and cozy the whole time.
Great experience all around
I've stayed in 3 different places through HomeAway in Austin and this was the cleanest. Lots of thoughtful details, including soap and toiletries in the bath, and it's a real plus to have a washer/dryer in the unit even though I wasn't there long enough to need it. Super quiet location and very secure. I would definitely stay here again!
Thanks, we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. We stay a lot of places, too, and really strive for cleanliness. We've tried to make this feel like home away from home and include the things that make for a comfortable stay without having to run to the store for basic items. We hope that you keep us in mind next time you are in Austin.
hyde park leisurely comfort
OK, so if you don't quibble with something people generally don't find your reviews credible. So I will say: nice if there was a bar of soap to be encountered anywhere in the apartment. That oversight aside, this guest house fully met our expectations: not in the heart of Hyde Park, as we would have preferred, but 10-20 minutes away by bike (and less by car) from much of this glorious neighborhood's best stuff - Quack's Bakery, Spider-House, Ruby's Barbecue. (And the excellent Flightpath Coffee is just 2 blocks away.) The apartment was quiet and spacious enough for my wife and me, the kitchen-area countertop very effective for working, the wifi adequate, and it was very convenient to have a washer-dryer right there. Furnishings functional and comfy. Plenty of room to stash our bikes off the street downstairs, and a car space had we needed it (turned out we didn't). The owner was very pleasant to deal with in setting up the reservation, and the cancellation policy was uncommonly flexible, we thought, for this kind of offering. Oh, and the dishwashing detergent proved perfectly adequate for washing up until we got around to buying a bar of soap - which, come to think of it, we never did get around to doing. Highly recommended. Very good value.
Great location, responsiveness and setup
This was our first time in Austin and given our food sensitivities we needed a place with a kitchen and enough room for two adults and a small child. We enjoyed staying here! The space itself is cute - nicely decorated, well stocked kitchen tools and appliances (no dishwasher so prepare to go old school on that part) and it has an updated feel with an Austin twist. I loved being a short car drive away from Whole Foods, coffee shops (Flightpath is up the street walking distance and the people there are so sweet!) and other fun things - but not being IN the city downtown madness. This neighborhood captures a lot of interesting architecture and mixture of people and design - super fun to walk around in. Carol was always quick to respond and has the welcome and checkout process nailed so you should find it easy to get in/out and around. Thank you again Carol - your place eased our anxiety around needing a kitchen and was a great setup for us with our 4 year old!!
We are so glad that you enjoyed your trip and that the apartment met your needs. The location does make it easy to enjoy what the city has to offer but without being in the middle of downtown. We hope you come back soon!
Property is perfect. Great location, private access.
Hosts are very accommodating. Nice to have a private entrance. Very clean, convenient.
Thanks, Karen, we are glad that you chose to stay with us again and hopefully you enjoyed some the the improvements we've made to the apartment like the upgraded TV and sound system. Look forward to having you back in the future.
Peaceful spot in the middle of it all
Enjoyed a very comfortable stay. The space had everything we needed and was neat and tidy. It was surprisingly quiet for being easily accessible off I-35 and the neighborhood felt very safe — we even slept with the windows open since the weather was nice. The gate opener and keypad entry made it easy for us to come and go as needed without disturbing anyone. Carol was super organized and left a binder for us containing the apartment inventory, instructions, recommendations in the area, etc. (we walked to Flight Path and grabbed a nice cup of coffee). Would definitely stay here again.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the great weather. We agree that it is amazingly quiet and relaxing for being so close to everything. Flight Path is one of our favorite coffee houses as well. We hope that you will consider staying with us next time you are in Austin.
