Most of our guests love the cosy old world atmosphere of this property and many return year after year.
The large DOUBLE BEDROOM is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, cupboards, bedside tables and lamps, and has central heating. The window looks out onto the quiet front street. Bedding and ample towels are provided but heavy towel users are welcome to bring extra of their own.
The SMALL BEDROOM is equipped with a single bed, wardrobe and bedside table.. The room is centrally heated with a window overlooking gardens. Again bedding and towels are provided.
MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY There two beds in the main bedroom and a single bed in the small bedroom, but a fourth person may be accommodated on the single sofa bed in the Living Room which can be made up by the guests themselves if required, using the bedding supplied.
The LIVING/DINING ROOM is furnished with a settee and cushions, dining table and four chairs, coffee tables, bookshelves with a selection of books of local interest, Freeview TV, etc.
A SEPARATE KITCHEN is equipped with a free-standing electric cooker with hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine/drier, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, plates and dishes etc..
There is a SHOWER ROOM and an adjacent room with a TOILET AND WASH BASIN. Both are centrally heated.
The property is NON-SMOKING and the burning of candles is NOT allowed. There is a private area outside at the rear where smokers can indulge.
ACCESS: the front entrance to the apartment is on the level with no steps to climb. There is also a door at the rear with external stone steps down to the yard. The toilet and shower are NOT wheelchair accessible.
FREE PARKING is available on the quiet 20mph limited road immediately outside the cottage.
ENTRY is from 4.00pm, checkout 10.00am. We have a keybox so late arrival is no problem.
LOCATION: We are in a quiet residential location near to countryside and parkland, yet just a few minutes walk to Dunfermline town centre, with all the usual shops large and small, and numerous cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Tescos in town is open until 11.00pm most evenings and Asda at Hallbeath 24/7.
With historic buildings, museums, country walks, and delightful parkland of its own, Dunfermline is also ideally situated for visiting many of the historic towns and villages of Scotland, whether travelling by car, or public transport. The main bus/coach station is 10 minutes walk from the cottage. You are never far from the sea, a golf course, historic castle or mansion, and our attractive hilly countryside.

About the host
Hosted by Trevor Smith
Why they chose this property
Great location in quiet friendly street close to historic town centre, cafes, restaurants, museums, theatres, bus station, parkland, open countryside and food shops open until 11.00pm. Very central for visiting places of interest in Fife, Edinburgh and Stirling.
What makes this property unique
Unlike most so-called traditional cottages this property has not been gutted, plasterboarded, and pvc'd so that little more than the stone walls remain. Virtually all of the woodwork is original 1890's which helps to maintain the old world atmosphere.
