Loved the open floor plan, was fun for our friends to all spend time together! The host was very communicative and helpful, she was awesome!

Cleanliness was not top notch. This reflects on the cleaning service, not the owner. The owner was great to work with and desires a clean property for her guests.

This was a last moment booking. The house was perfect for our needs and we were able to just “be” and relax after attending the meetings we were in town for. Clean rooms, host was quick to reply, family friendly. Thank you for opening your house for us.

DO NOT RENT! We showed up at the property to find it was being lived in by one of their family members. They did not communicate or respond to messages or phone calls until the VRBO representative called and all we got was a "sorry for the inconvenience" message. We had to find a new place. The neighbor came outside and told us it has been occupied for a few months and we were not the first renters to show up and find out the hard way we no longer had a place to stay.

The bathroom sink in the king room was dirty from previous guests. Laundry in washer and dryer. The couch had chips under the cushion. The backyard needed a lot of clean up. Internet didn’t work but we got by.

Cozy old style house in Newton

The house was perfect for my friends and I to stay in the night before my wedding. Slept 10 of us comfortably with an air mattress brought along. There is only one bathroom so that was a task in itself but it was a nice place.

When we entered the resident, there was half full trash can. There was urine and toilet paper in the toilet. All the appliances were streaked from attempted cleaning. The backyard was a mess. Kids couldn't play back there. All toys look like they were never cleaned.

Hello David, you reached out to me to let me know the toilet hadn’t been flushed and there were streaks on the TV and I apologized and let you know that I had just hired a new cleaning lady and it would never happen again. I also offered to pay for your families dinner and refund you to make up for it; which I did but I see you left that out. You didn’t say anything to me about the toys in the backyard but since you’ve mentioned it here - they are not mentioned in the property details as a reason to stay, they are simply a fun extra that anyone else has enjoyed and been grateful to have for their kids. They are cleaned regularly but, being that they’re outside full time and you came at the end of December after snow, etc they cannot be kept in pristine condition 24/7. However, if you and your family did not want to use them they are all put away and to the side with plenty of room for the kids to play with the clean toys you brought for them.

There was no running water, the dishes were caked in stuff, there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling, and the TV was broken. I tried to contact the host multiple times and didn’t get a single response.

Stay here.

The descriptions, and the house are exactly as described. The neighborhood is quiet and most conveniences are a really short drive away.Myranda was quick to respond to any questions we had and easy to work with for check in. Her detailed descriptions of how things in the house work were perfect.The kitchen is well stocked with whatever you might have forgotten. The main bathroom has a shower that you won't want to get out of. It's not a huge house, but the way it's arranged, it really has an open, relaxed feel to it. The subtle Christian references were spot on and made my family feel at home. Bottom line, if you're wanting a conveniently located, quiet, relaxing place to stay in Newton, you found it in this listing. Should life bring us back to the area again, we will be renting this house again.

The kitchen is unorganized, not enough plates or silverware. Stove didn't work well. Railing on deck unfinished and dangerous for children. Stagnant dirty slimy water in items outside. Stairway to enter home is VERY hazardous. Definitely NOT senior citizen friendly. Yard was 12" tall in front. Would not recommend or ever stay again. Needs to be removed from listing until renovation and clean up is finished!!

Pros of our stay. Dog friendly and convenient to our loved ones we were visiting. Neighborhood was quiet and easy to navigate. House was definitely big enough for our family of 4. Cons of our stay. The house has a terrible smell, like mildew. The DIY makeover on the house was definitely lacking a professionals touch. The fence around the yard has a gap in the gate and a hole. We blocked those with some of the outdoor toys in the backyard. The stovetop and fridge were poorly cleaned, there were still items in the fridge from the last guest. There was no bedding other than pillows on the master bed. I’m assuming they were the items left in the washer and dryer. The back yard was cluttered with old toddler toys and some personal items like shoes were also there. Gave us the impression that maybe someone lived there pretty frequently when not being rented or it definitely doesn’t get properly cleaned. The home served it’s purpose, it was just below our expectations. Not sure if we would stay again.

We booked a two-night stay but chose to leave after the first night because of the overall condition of the property.Upon arrival, the home had a noticeable mildew odor and appeared inadequately cleaned. The refrigerator contained a dead mosquito, crumbs, and debris. Kitchen counters and other surfaces were dirty, and dust was visible throughout the home.We found numerous maintenance issues, including a barstool held together with zip ties, a torn couch, a broken desk chair, worn mattresses, flat pillows, and a potentially hazardous step on the front deck. The bathrooms were also concerning, with hairs in the tub/shower, dirty rugs and shower curtains, stained flooring, and visible unfinished repairs. The towels were in poor condition and were not left out for guests, requiring us to search cabinets to find them.The Wi-Fi was unusable during our stay. The password provided through the rental platform was incorrect, and although we found another password posted inside the home, the internet service itself was not functioning.As owners of short-term rental properties ourselves, we understand that maintenance issues can occasionally arise. However, the number of cleanliness, repair, and comfort concerns throughout the home made us uncomfortable enough to shorten our stay and leave a day early. The property is in need of significant attention and did not reflect the price being charged. Unfortunately, we would not stay here again in its current condition.

Check in and out process was easy. There was a mildew smell when entering the house. The master bed was uncomfortable and leaned heavily to one side, overused and broke down. No soap. Back door wouldn’t lock. Cleanliness was fair, I have stayed in worse but would’ve like to have it feel cleaner. Coffee pods to accommodate a Keurig but there was only a coffee pot with filters, no coffee. No coffee cups. Bugs in the refrigerator.
